History Creator / Noggin

The Noggin streaming service is available in a few different territories internationally. Prior to this, Noggin's only international airing was a UK block on European music channel TMF. It was hosted by Moose and Zee ([[SameLanguageDub dubbed into British English]]) and had two separate runs: one in mid-2006, and another from early 2009 until March 2010.

Noggin is an entertainment brand that started out as a collaboration between {{Creator/Nickelodeon}} and Creator/SesameWorkshop. Currently a mobile streaming service, it originally launched in 1999 as both a cable TV channel and an interactive website. The name "Noggin" comes from a slang word for the head, reflecting the brand's goal: to help kids learn.

* NetworkRedHeadedStepchild: ''WesternAnimation/RobotAndMonster'', a Nicktoon series, was included on the Noggin streaming app when it launched in 2015. It was the only Nicktoon on the app, and it includes quite a bit of cartoonish violence. It's possible that it was chosen to provide some content for older kids (Noggin started out as a tween-targeted brand, after all).

The original Noggin channel [[NetworkDeath closed]] on September 28, 2009, when it was replaced by a 24-hour Creator/NickJr channel. Moose and Zee did get to host this channel for several years before they were both phased out. In 2015, Noggin.com was revived and the brand was relaunched as a mobile streaming service for preschoolers, again with Moose and Zee as mascots until 2019.

The channel's only international airing was a UK block on European music channel TMF. It was hosted by Moose and Zee ([[SameLanguageDub dubbed into British English]]) and only lasted for a few months in 2006 before being abruptly replaced with a Nick Jr. block. In March 2010, it closed again, having outlived its American counterpart by 6 months. Moose and Zee were moved onto Nick Jr UK the next month.

In 2002, Noggin split its lineup into two age groups: a daytime block and a {{watershed}} nighttime block. The daytime block was aimed at younger children. The nighttime block, called The N (standing for "The Noggin"), aired tween and teen shows. A few older-skewing shows that had previously aired on the daytime block shifted their timeslots to air during The N. The daytime block was initially run by a blue creature named Feetface, but he would soon be replaced by the much more loved duo of WesternAnimation/MooseAndZee.

In 2007, Noggin and Sesame Workshop (who had already sold their stake since 2001) cut ties, with most of Noggin's remaining original series being cancelled (save for ''WesternAnimation/PinkyDinkyDoo''), even those that the network and the Workshop ''didn't'' co-produce like ''Jack's Big Music Show''. In the midst of this, ''Play with Me Sesame'' switched channels to Creator/{{Sprout}}, and pretty much any presence of ''Series/SesameStreet'' as a whole would disappear completely.

There was only ever [[UsefulNotes/ANSIStandardBroadcastTVSchedule one feed of Noggin broadcast from Eastern Time]] [[note]] Viacom continued to do this even after Noggin shut down, only adding a Pacific feed in ''2013'' after complaints that [=NickMom=] came on too early in the Western US[[/note]], meaning that before 2008 [[note]]Noggin and The N timeshared on Dish Network until April 24, 2009, just months before both channels were shut on September 28 [[/note]], people in the Pacific time zone would have The N sign on at 3pm, and the daytime Noggin almost functioning like a preschool block on the N.

* AmbiguousGender: It’s unclear what gender Feetface is, as though they are blue, a color associated with boys, they are voiced by a female actor.
