Martin Hayter Short [[UsefulNotes/KnightFever OC]] (born March 26, 1950) is a Canadian-American actor, comedian, singer and writer born in Hamilton, Ontario. After joining the Second City theater in the late 70s, he transitioned to television starting with ''Series/{{SCTV}}'' and later ''Series/SaturdayNightLive'' for the show's tenth season[[note]]it should be noted that, despite his short stint on the latter show, Martin Short is considered one of ''SNL'''s most memorable cast members from the tumultuous early-to-mid 1980s, next to Creator/EddieMurphy[[/note]].
