Joseph Sylvester Maher (December 29, 1933 - July 17, 1998) was an Irish actor, playwright, and theatre director best known for ''Film/InAndOut'' (1997), ''Film/{{IQ|1994}}'' (1994), and ''Film/{{Heaven Can Wait|1978}}'' (1978).

Maher died in of a brain tumor in 1998 at the age of 64.
