Jack Douglas, born John Douglas Robertson, (26 April 1927 – 18 December 2008), was an English actor best known for his "Alf Ippititimus" character and his roles in the ''Film/CarryOnSeries'' throughout TheSeventies.

Douglas left home at the age of 14 to work in the theatre, something his father had forbidden him from doing. On his 15th birthday, his father gave him the script to a ''Cinderella'' pantomime, which he was to direct. He did so for 22 weeks, as he had been watching his father direct for years.

He soon created the character of Alf Ippititimus, notable for his twitching and CharacterCatchphrase of "Phwaay!" after a co-star of his had been locked out of the theatre and he needed to improvise. Many of his ''Film/CarryOn'' roles were based on Alf. For his first (''Film/CarryOnMatron'' in '72), he claims wasn't paid and instead only received a dozen bottles of Dom Pérignon but producer Creator/PeterRogers swears that he was paid £25 for his role.

After another small role in ''Film/CarryOnAbroad'' and a supporting role in ''Film/CarryOnGirls'', Douglas was billed as part of the main team for the first time in ''Film/CarryOnDick'', and remained a ''Film/CarryOn'' star for the rest of the series' run until ''Film/CarryOnEmmannuelle'' in 1978 (but he would return for a small role in 1992's ''Film/CarryOnColumbus'').
