Game Freak, Inc. is a Japanese video game development studio founded on April 26, 1989.

While they are best known as the creators of the ''Pokemon'' RPGs (in instances where they are even known at all), they have a long-running love for the platformer genre. They also have a consistent track record of releasing games on systems when they're near the end of their life spans.

The company is one of very few genuine instances of a "second-party company", in this case to ''Nintendo''.
