Donald Siegel (October 26, 1912 – April 20, 1991) was an American director. Though born in Chicago, Illinois, he attended Jesus College in Cambridge, England and graduated from there. After spending some time in Paris, he came to Los Angeles and got a job at Creator/WarnerBrothers, where he directed {{Montage}}s, most notably the one featured in ''Film/{{Casablanca}}''. He also directed two short films -- ''Hitler Lives'' and ''Film/StarInTheNight'' -- both of which won the UsefulNotes/AcademyAwardForBestLiveActionShortFilm, which helped him to get a job as a feature film director.
