Hartman moved on to Creator/{{Nickelodeon}} as soon as his contract with HB expired to work on [[DuelingShows a slightly similar show]], ''WesternAnimation/OhYeahCartoons''. There, he created several shorts that would eventually become ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddparents'', one of the station's longest running shows (the ''Oh Yeah!'' shorts were retroactively named "Season Zero"). In fact, something else Hartman and [=MacFarlane=] have in common: their animated shows are the only ones to ever get Uncanceled ''twice''. Hartman has since produced three more shows for the station, ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'', ''WesternAnimation/TuffPuppy'' and ''WesternAnimation/BunsenIsABeast'', making him second to Creator/KlaskyCsupo as Nick's most prolific creator. He parted ways with the company after twenty years of employment, assuring fans that he was still hard at work on new shows, including ''Elf Detective'' for his Website/YouTube channel. He would also make a return to Creator/CartoonNetwork for the action comedy ''Dynamice!''.

The bit about Oaxis was very tacked on and poorly written. I did my best to spread out information about it over the whole page without it sounding as though I'm troping the person rather than his work.

Hartman has also been a regular web presence in the second half of TheNewTens, with semi-regular videos on [=YouTube=] giving career advice, doing live drawing sessions and interviewing fellow talents he's worked with.

* LetsSeeYouDoBetter: Being a borderline workaholic (see RenaissanceMan below), Butch has often been at odds with fans who don't find him very sympathetic to anything less than his level of dedication to their art and not very accepting of their criticisms of him.

* RealMenLoveJesus: As stated before, Butch is a practicing Christian and many of his motivational tweets have vague Christian undertones.

* RealMenLoveJesus: As stated before, Butch is a practicing Christian and many of his motivational tweets have vague Christian undertones. This actually got him in a bit of trouble when his crowdfunded app, Oaxis Entertainment, was accused of using dishonest tactics to get fans to fund Christian propaganda for him (Butch's pitch for it, once it had been funded, just happened to be in a church and he later assured funders that this had not been the case).

** He also doesn't hide his distain for amateur artists with non-traditional work ethics. See "LetsSeeYouDoBetter."
* ThatCameOutWrong: His crowdfunded app, Oaxis Entertainment, was the subject of a minor scandal when fans and non-fans alike latched onto some tactless comments he made giving a speech about it. In addition to the typical MoralGuardian jargon of too much violence in the media resulting in real-world violence, depression and suicide, and how such things "didn't exist" when he was younger, some unfortunate wording and body language made it sound like he was blamed Creator/TaraStrong for Creator/MaryKayBergman's suicide in 2000.

In July 2018, he suffered a case of InternetBackdraft over a crowdfunded streaming service he created, called Oaxis Entertainment. Throughout the campaign, he only advertised it as a "family friendly" service, only revealing when it was very nearly funded that he meant that it was specifically a ''Christian'' service, explicitly meant to teach children "Christian values". This enraged even Christian fans, who thought that he acted dishonestly when he hid that he intended to do Christian-based shows, and many believe he scammed his non-Christian audience. This was worsened when people saw that on the revealing videos Butch was using suicide and depression to promote his channel by claiming that those things did not exist back on his time, a tactless comment to Creator/TaraStrong in which he "blames" her of her suicide, his failure to address if LGTB people would have any representation, his remark that introverts are "selfish" and a rude response of LetsSeeYouDoBetter to a fan who was not even attacking him.

Since 2005, Butch and his wife Julieann have been running a Christian non-profit organization called [[https://www.hartmanhouse.org/ourstory Hartman House]], which funds housing for the most poverty-stricken parts of the United States and provides homeless families with dinners during Thanksgiving. Butch attends many of these events, doing personal drawings and autographs for charity. As of this writing, they're working to get schools built in Africa.

Nice Guy is not a YMMV trope but it involves a lot of personal judgement. The Oaxis debacle really places him in another light. Not saying he is some callous Jerkass or something, but its still sketchy stuff

* NiceGuy:
** Along with his foundation, Butch is also very dedicated towards his family who would often accompany him abroad to personally help children in need of a better home.
** While "Bunsen" wasn't being advertised at the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con, he still showed up to personally give passers by at the Nickelodeon exhibits a Bunsen Pin for free.
** Even [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4D-jTrOuRg in]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29oy4OZgMKQ interviews]] he comes off as upbeat and friendly to people.

Nothing, however, can last forever, and in February 2018, Hartman announced his resignation from the company after 20 years of employment. Hartman quickly assured that he was still working on projects, saying that he is currently developing a show named ''Elf Detective'' for his YouTube channel, as well as working with Creator/CartoonNetwork on another show called ''Dynamice!''.
