Alan Jay Pakula (April 7, 1928 – November 19, 1998), better known as Alan J. Pakula, was an American producer, director, and screenwriter. He was best known for producing a number of Robert Mulligan's films (most notably ''Literature/ToKillAMockingbird'') and directing his own "Paranoia Trilogy" (consisting of ''Film/{{Klute}}'', ''Film/TheParallaxView'', and ''Film/AllThePresidentsMen''), among others.
