** Bernice want to be this, and is shaping up to be just as bad as Miss Phelps. Case in point, she told Tiffany that if she couldn't afford to stay in her dorm, than she should move back in with Ann Eiffell. Who, it should be noted, ''sexually harassed Bernice!''

* IntimateLotionApplication: One strip has Tiffany trying to flirt with Quill (while Luann is right beside him) at the beach by offering to rub sunscreen on him, but he refuses. So she tries asking if he could put sunscreen on her, and he relents... but unbeknown to Tiffany it's Luann who ends up being the one that puts the sunscreen on her back.

* FlawlessToken: Delta, the only black cast member, is of course one of the smartest and most level-headed of the entire group. In a cast where every other character has a swack of flaws, she only has the flaw of being a workaholic perfectionist. It landed her in the hospital once, but is pretty much the kind of "fake insult" someone would give at a job interview. Her friends think she's too much of a goody two-shoes, though, and preachy to boot. Whether we're supposed to agree with them or not is not clear. Evans has since admitted that Delta's lack of flaws made her too hard to write for, and so she eventually left the strip.

* LoveMakesYouDumb: Brad pretty much acts this way around both his love interests, Diane and Toni, frequently pretending to know about things he's actually clueless about, trying to dress the way they'd like, acting the way he feels they'd like, and randomly stuttering nonsense ("Hey auto go show Toni together with me!").

** 2022 introduced one between Bernice, Luann and Piro. [[[UnrequitedLoveSwitcheroo Piro has feelings for Bernice after her ghosting him, Bernice wants nothing to do with him]], and Luann is interested in Piro.

* IncompatibleOrientation: After Luann got jealous of Quill and Prudence spending a lot of time together, Prudence revealed herself to be lesbian to assure Luann she wasn't romantically interested in him.

* YouthfulFreckles: Tara sports these.

* HairstyleInertia: Tiffany has had the exact same "helmet hair" from the beginning of the strip until the present day. Even in flashbacks showing her and Luann in the third grade, she still had that same hairstyle.

* JerkassToOne: Bernice is generally polite and friendly (albeit a bit of a wet blanket) to most people. But to her [[WithFriendsLikeThese supposed best friend]] Luann it's a different story. There is almost ''nothing'' Luann can say in Bernice's presence that isn't met with a snide remark or passive-aggressive putdown, to the point where Luann's already tenuous self-confidence has been shattered numerous times merely by confiding in Bernice. This trait wasn't so pronounced in the strip's early days, making it appear to longtime readers that Bernice's patience with Luann simply ran out over the years, and now they stay friends mostly out of habit.

* TheKilljoy: Bernice's habit of loudly disparaging anything she felt was beneath her became much more pronounced in college. When Luann eventually took the hint and simply didn't invite her (to a lingerie party she knew Bernice would ''never'' want to attend), Bernice threw a tantrum and stated that she expects to be invited to everything regardless, so that she can make her choice (and by extension, her negative opinion) known to everyone.[[note]]She's also a {{hypocrite}} about the matter, as when the time came for her to have an event that Luann had no interest in, Bernice was perfectly happy to [[https://www.gocomics.com/luann/2023/01/05 keep Luann in the dark rather than extend an invite.]][[/note]] She also took that same buzzkill attitude towards the university student body as a whole when serving as an RA. Although keeping order in the dorm is admittedly an RA's job, Bernice took things a bit far (knocking on doors to do bed checks, enforcing a curfew on weekends, physically separating couples ''a la'' [[Film/HarryPotterAndTheOrderOfThePhoenix Dolores Umbridge]], etc.). Commenters on ''Blog/TheComicsCurmudgeon'' eventually nicknamed her "the Dormenführer."

* SmittenTeenageGirl: Luann in high school, who was always utterly ''obsessed'' with one boy or another. One of the collected editions of the strip was even titled "Boys, Bras, Braces, [[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment and Boys]]." Finally having a boyfriend helped her to outgrow this mindset, as she has been much less "boy-crazy" since breaking up with Quill during college.

* WantsAPrizeForBasicDecency: Luann sometimes has problems with this. For example, she once made a big deal about the Christmas gifts she was giving to Bernice and Delta. Bernice's gift was a giant empty cardboard box, which Luann called a "Big Box of 'Sorry'", as in Luann was apologizing for how self-centered she had acted in the past. Delta's gift turned out to be... Delta's sweater, which Luann had borrowed and never returned. Bernice and Delta were less than impressed, and Luann was left dumbfounded as to why her friends weren't more grateful for [[SarcasmMode these thoughtful Christmas presents.]]

** Then Leslie developed a crush on Prudence...
* InformedAttribute: Dez is apparently a nudist, but we don't actually see this in action (as much as we can "see" of it, being a PG-13 comic strip).

** Stef's entire personality is this.

* AllThereInTheManual: The characters page on the GoComics website reveals some details that haven't been mentioned in the comic, like both Tiffany and Shannon's mothers having left when they were young, or Gunther majoring in engineering.

* BoyishShortHair: Tara naturally has this, being an adventurous tomboy and all.

* CovertPervert: Dez. You wouldn't know it from her character (besides her being a nudist), but she mentioned to Bernice about having naked yoga meditation with a boy she liked.

* GranolaGirl: Bernice's college roommate Dez.

** Brad and Toni are this to Luann when Shannon is involved. Toni even admitted to Luann that they leave Shannon with her because [[ItsAllAboutMe they]] don't want to deal with her.

* PerkyGoth: New Agey-type Crystal, a tertiary classmate of Luann and the others, occasionally fits this, but is often rather bitchy and sardonic as well. Essentially, the "Goth" look is merely a costume. She does write gothic poetry, though.

* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: When Shannon is practicing her dance routine for the talent show, Tiffany says her dance should be more sultry, and even dresses her up like a Toddlers and Tiaras contestant. When Luann questions her about this, she says she was doing that when she was Shannon's age.
