Then supernatural elements began to enter the comic, starting with Gene's subplot where he encounters a society of living mascot costumes during a September - November 2021 story arc. This was followed by an arc where Kevin becomes a mutant with telepathic powers and a class of superpowered students is brought in to defeat him, an arc where the boys encounter a sentient ice cream truck, and an arc where Kevin and Miles [[FreakyFridayFlip switch bodies]].

* FreakyFridayFlip: In a March 2024 story arc, appropriately called "Wacky Weekday" on instagram, Kevin and Miles [[https://www.gocomics.com/crabgrass/2024/03/04 switch bodies]] after an attempt of them to prank a subsitute teacher ends with a huge argument, and the teacher offers to help the boys fix their friendship with a supposed "[[https://www.gocomics.com/crabgrass/2024/02/26 Friendship Goblin]]". ** In a december 2023 Story Arc, Kevin and Miles are visited by a [[ChristmasElves elf]] who has been send to make them stop believing in Santa because they're too old. He even tells them [[https://www.gocomics.com/crabgrass/2023/12/08 it's important children stop believing in Santa after a certain age]] because older kids want cooler, more expensive toys which puts a huge strain on the gift production.

* BloodBrothers: One of the first arcs [[https://www.gocomics.com/crabgrass/2019/04/10 from April 2019]] involved Kevin and Miles becoming this. The fact that they’ve become blood brothers is brought up several times afterwards in the series.

* StillBelievesInSanta: Miles, as proven when [[https://www.gocomics.com/crabgrass/2021/12/01 he suggests Kevin should ask Santa]] for a Ninento 16 after Kevin's mom refused. Kevin treats it as a joke first, but [[MyGodYouAreSerious soon realizes Miles honestly means it]]. It kicks off a storyline in which Kevin and Miles discuss the existence of Santa, with Miles claiming that he still believes because [[ClapYourHandsIfYouBelieve as long as he does, Santa will keep bringing him presents]]. Kevin is eventually convinced, and even gets his mom to bring him and Miles to the mall to visit the local MallSanta. * SeriesContinuityError: [[https://www.gocomics.com/crabgrass/2023/11/19 Donna and Gene discover a drawing from Miles]] on the wall of their house, which he evidently made when he was much younger considering. However, this contradicts the first comic of both the original run and the reboot that clearly showed Miles and his parents moving into their current house when Miles was already nine.

* HalloweenEpisode : In a [[https://www.gocomics.com/crabgrass/2023/10/09 October 2023]] Halloween story arc, Miles and Kevin end up in a HauntedHouse that is BiggerOnTheInside, and confronts them with [[WhatDoTheyFearEpisode their worst fears]].

Then suddenly she starts talking about something called The Ginko Blade tm. * JerkassHasAPoint: Kyle may be a BigBrotherBully to Kevin, but when he says their dad is going to flake on taking him and Miles to the wrestling match, [[DaddyDidntShow pointing out how he didn't come through on taking Krystal to the Ice Capades or himself to the baseball game.]] He ends up being right.

They get their hands on a harpoon build by Kyle when he too tried to stop the truck some years before, and team up with two kids named Benji and Kimmy from a neighboring street to chase Old Jingles with go karts.
