The ComicBook/XMen and mutantkind have been through a lot in recent years. From an [[ComicBook/HouseOfM extinction level event]], to constant in-fighting, [[ComicBook/AvengersVSXMen to fighting against other Marvel heroes]], to ([[YoYoPlotPoint another]]) [[ComicBook/DeathOfX extinction level event]], to [[ComicBook/InhumansVsXMen fighting with against other heroes]] ([[HereWeGoAgain again]]). But now the threats to mutantkind's existence have ended and the X-Men can now finally focus on one thing - being heroes.

''X-Men Gold'' and ''X-Men Blue'' are two books launching out of the aftermath of ComicBook/InhumansVsXMen and serves as the centerpiece of the ''ComicBook/{{Resurrxion}}'' event. The X-Men are finally putting behind the drama and trauma of the last decade or so and redefining their role in the Marvel Universe while sticking to their classic villain-fighting exploits and protecting mutants. Each book focuses on one X-Men team:

''X-Men Gold'', written by [[Series/{{Arrow}} Marc Guggenheim]] and originally penciled by Ardian Syaf, focuses on the main team, led by ComicBook/KittyPryde. The team which consists of ComicBook/{{Storm}}, Colossus, Nightcrawler, [[ComicBook/RachelSummers Rachel Grey]] (now known as Prestige) and ComicBook/OldManLogan shows the team focusing more on heroics and reconnecting with the regular humans and the rest of the world and dealing with a new version of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

''X-Men Blue'', written by Cullen Bunn and penciled by Jorge Molina, follows the [[ComicBook/AllNewXMen original time-displaced X-Men]] lead by young Jean Grey and mentored by ComicBook/{{Magneto}}.

* RealityEnsues: In the first issues of Prime, Kitty had Illyana move the X-Mansion into Central Park. Come the first issue of Gold, after signing phone books of paperwork, she's later given an invoice for ''18 million dollars'' to stay as it is the most valuable real estate in New York after all.
* RedSkiesCrossover: Almost literally in the ''ComicBook/SecretEmpire'' arc. Though it's billed as a tie-in, the connection to that story is fairly tangential, and the unusual color of the sky in the distance is seen & noted by characters.
* RetCanon: The old-school X-Men villain Mesmero makes a minor appearance, with a redesign lifted wholesale from his appearance in ''WesternAnimation/XMenEvolution''.
* UnderwearOfPower: Kitty Pryde, Storm, Colossus bring the style back as the X-Men start to focus on being heroes.
* UngratefulBastard: True to form, after rescuing a skyscraper of people the X-Men are met with bitter stares from them. A little girl is admonished by her mother for responding to [[ItIsDehumanizing "it"]] when asked if anyone's okay.
* WorkingWithTheEx: Kitty has made it clear to Colossus that while she will always care about him she has moved on and is not interested in resuming their old romance. As of issue #11, [[spoiler:Kitty and Peter appear to have reconciled.]]

[[folder: Tropes found in ''X-Men Blue'']]
%%* BackFromTheDead: Possibly. The FlashForward in Issue #1 reveals [[spoiler: Professor X(or possibly a clone or imposter) will be showing up.]]
* TheBusCameBack:
** In issue #4, they'll gain a new team member... the solicit just says SNIKT! Issue #1 reveals that [[spoiler:Jimmy Hudson has crossed over into the main Marvel universe]].
** The same issue also showcased the all new Marauders: [[spoiler: Ultimate Quicksilver, Ultimate Armor, Guardian and Mach II. All also fellow survivors from the Ultimate Universe.]]
* CallBack: In issue #4, Jean recounts the time before Battleworld, where the young X-Men visited the Ultimate Universe.
* ContinuitySnarl: [[spoiler: Ultimate Quicksilver is revealed to be one of the characters who made the jump to the main Marvel Universe. This is despite the fact that he'd been killed by Kang way back during the final arc of ''[[ComicBook/TheUltimates Ultimate Comics: The Ultimates]]'', meaning he would've been long dead by the time ''ComicBook/SecretWars2015'' happened.]]
* {{Exposition}}: How we know what's going on with our heroes at the beginning of issue #3.
* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: The full frontal of the Danger Room version of [[spoiler:Magneto]] in issue #2. Not even the case for the non-Danger Room version. Makes you wonder who wrote that program.
* GrewBeyondTheirProgramming: [[spoiler:Bastion]] claims as much. He wants to ''save'' mutantkind now [[spoiler:albeit only so he can destroy them afterward]].
* IAlwaysWantedToSayThat: Subverted. Jean feels weird about saying [[CatchPhrase "To me, my X-men"]].
* IHaveYouNowMyPretty: [[spoiler:Emma]] to [[spoiler:Scott]].
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: For some reason, [[spoiler:Jimmy Hudson]] doesn't remember the X-Men. It turns out [[spoiler:Miss Sinister erased not only his memories, but those of the Ultimate Universe mutants as well. She just couldn't control him since he's resistant to telepathy and he escaped.]]
* MetaphoricallyTrue: In Issue #6 Jean tells [[spoiler:Norio, Gazing Nightshade, Whisper Doll and Hexadecimal that Jimmy is Wolverine's son which is true but just not the Wolverine they knew. ]]
-->'''Jean:''' Well, it's true. Sort of.
* OffscreenBreakup: Prior to ''Blue'' Warren was dating ComicBook/{{X 23}}. However he has since hit on a number of women, (including a cop and Firestar), suggesting his relationship with Laura may be over. Nonetheless, no official mention of their status has been made.
* ProperlyParanoid: Issue 2 shows the X-Men are preparing to [[spoiler: fight Magneto]] should the need arise given their past it makes sense.
* {{Wendigo}}: A Wendigo attacks a police officer in Canada in the first issue. She's saved by [[spoiler:Jimmy Hudsom]] and Beast later takes its heart.
* WhatTheHellHero:
** In issue #1, Cyclops lays Beast out when it seems he sent the Juggernaut to Hell through demonic magic. Beast tells him [[IDidWhatIHadToDo he did what he had to to save civilians]] and that he just sent Juggernaut to Siberia... [[DistinctionWithoutADifference through a shortcut through Hell]].
** Jean gives herself a small one in issue #3.
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: The final issue of ''All-New X-Men'' reveals that [[spoiler:the unaltered Original 5 are somehow still in the past, despite the team having spent a year in-series in the present.]] O5 Beast surmises that the universe decided something needed to be done and ''somehow'' got that hole filled in while they were dealing with the Inhumans and the older Cyclops' oddities. Issue #2 reveals that [[spoiler:Magneto's using the resources within the Hellfire Club to build a time machine to circumvent this]]. A later issue indicates that [[spoiler:it may have been Briar's resources instead]].
