** TheLeader: Jean-Paul, no nonsense captain who is protective of his team mates.
** TheLancer: Polaris was offered leadership but turned it down in favor of a second in command role. She’s the one who brings the team together and balances out Northstar’s stern leadership.
** TheSmartGuy: Prodigy and Rachel. Prodigy is an actual genius and Rachel is an omega-level telepath. They do most of the information collecting.
** TheBigGuy: Daken, son of Wolverine who can take the most damage and acts as the muscle.
** TheHeart: Eye-Boy. He’s a NiceGuy and is the only one who hasn’t undergone extreme trauma like the others allowing him to have a brighter outlook that is needed on the team.
** TheSixthRanger: Aurora is dead in the first issue and the team forms in order to find her body. After her resurrection she hangs around the Boneyard and eventually joins the team.

* DepravedBisexual: Polaris calls Daken a "disaster bisexual" and fears his influence on the team, but Daken argues that David's "distinguished bisexual" neutralizes it.

** TheHeart: Eye-Boy. He’s a NiceGuy and is the only one who hasn’t undergone extreme trauma like the others allowing him to have a brighter outlook am that is needed on the team.
** TheSixthRanger: Aurora is dead in the first issue who and the team firms in order to find her body. After her resurrection she hangs around the boneyard and eventually joins the team.

* ForScience: Prodigy wants to study how mutant bodies decompose with corpses in the Bone Yard's own garden. Northstar objects, and Prodigy argues that it's for science and can help X-Factor in their work.

* RequiredSecondaryPowers: Somewhat averted with Northstar, in issue #7 he notes that he can travel faster than lightspeed with the implication that his body has developed secondary powers to allow him to travel faster than sound. But, he notes if he goes faster than light speed his bones will start to become dust and his lungs will collapse.
