** KryptoniteRing: Wolverine gives ComicBook/{{Cyclops|MarvelComics}} the Muramasa Blade, a magical sword capable of slicing through his adamantium skeleton and negating his healing abilities, in case he gets captured and brainwashed. Of course his son gains it later. Though at least Wolverine was able to use it to kill Sabertooth first (not that ''that'' stuck even a whole year).

Following the events of ''ComicBook/HouseOfM'', for the first time in decades, ComicBook/Wolverine has all of his memories back. But not all of those memories are good, and Wolverine has alot of skeletons in his closet. On top of that, alot of very powerful people aren't pleased with what Wolverine now remembers. Now Wolverine must reconcile and atone with his past before it comes back to kill him.

''Wolverine: Origins'' is a 2006 ongoing comic book series published by Creator/MarvelComics. The series is written by Daniel Way with art by Creator/SteveDillon.

The series is notable for introducing Wolverine's son, Daken.

The first issue was published April 19, 2006. The series lasted for 50 issues, with the last issue published July 28, 2010.

The series is not to be confused with either ''ComicBook/Origin2001'', the comic detailing Wolverine's youth, or the film ''Film/XMenOriginsWolverine'', an loose adaption of the aformentioned comic.

----
!!''Wolverine: Origins'' provides examples of:
* EightiesHair: [[Characters/MarvelComicsDeadpool Deadpool]] makes fun of [[Characters/MarvelComicsDaken Daken]]'s mohawk-mullet combo. He gets his hand cut off for his trouble.
--> ''(after imitating a telephone conversation)'' [[XCalledTheyWantTheirYBack It was 1986. It wants its hair...]] ''(notices the stump where his hand should be)'' ...back...
** An amusing bit of HypocriticalHumor on Deadpool's part, since some flashback sequences show that Wade Wilson had a blond mullet that would do ''[[VideoGame/MetalGearSolid Liquid Snake]]'' proud when he still had hair.
* AbusiveParents: Nuke's mother was an abusive alcoholic.
* ArcVillain: Nuke is the villain of the first story arc ''Born in Blood''.
* BigBad: Romulus is a prehistoric mutant and the one responsible for Logan's miserable life.
* CarvedMark: While torturing and conditioning Nuke, Logan carved the American Flag into his face.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: [[Characters/MarvelComicsDaken Daken]], Wolverine's son. He faces Cyber (whom he was allied with in the past) and chooses to be on Wolverine's side. Then betrays W. and sides with C. because "C. has a better plan". Then comes out that ''there is no freakin' plan!'' Then betrays C. again and says he planned it all with W. from the start... and then he betrays W. too. And the X-Men, for good measure.
* GeneticEngineeringIsTheNewNuke: Wolverine kidnapped Nuke as a child so he could become a genetically engineered SuperSoldier.
* TheHandler: Wolverine was this for Nuke all throughout his life, abducting him as a child and torturing and conditioning him into being a SuperSoldier for Weapon X.
* LongLostRelative: [[spoiler:The series introduces Daken Akihiro, Wolverine's biological son with a Japanese woman named Itsu.]]
* MurderTheHypotenuse: As a boy, Nuke had an unhealthy affection for his nanny. She [[ManipulativeBitch exploited these feelings]] to get Frank to kill his mother, so she could be with his dad.
* RoguesGalleryTransplant: While Nuke was introduced as a new Daredevil rogue, he's since become more associated with ComicBook/CaptainAmerica and BrainwashedAndCrazy: Wolverine kidnapped Nuke when he was a child on behalf of the Weapon Plus Program, torturing and conditioning him to be the perfect solder
* SelfMadeOrphan: Nuke's nanny tricked him into murdering his own mother.
* TriggerPhrase: While conditioning Nuke, Logan implanted the phrase "No V.C.!" as a trigger word, along with the compulsion to gruesomely kill anyone who uttered the words. He was than set loose on a village of Vietnamese civilians, who would unwittingly utter the phrase, leading to Nuke killing them all and burning the village to the ground.
* SpinOff: The title ''Wolverine: Origins'' is a spin off from ''Wolverine'' Vol. 3, following the arc "Wolverine: Origins and Endings" in issues #36-40.
* TheTheTitleConfusion: ''Wolverine: Origins'', or ''Wolverine: The Origins'', or ''Origins''.
