->Not to be confused with ComicBook/AdamWarlock from Creator/MarvelComics's other same named comic. For other uses, see Warlock.

Warlock, a techno-organic alien originally created for ComicBook/NewMutants by Creator/ChrisClaremont and Bill Sienkiewicz also had a nine issue miniseries of his own in 1999, written by Louise Simonson and illustrated by Pasqual Ferry.
The series takes place after Warlock's death and reanimation as Douglock (originally thought to be the combination of previously killed New Mutant Douglas Ramsey and Warlock) and after his departure from Comicbook/Excalibur.

The series follows Warlock, who after learning that he is only Warlock with Doug's memories and part of his being, tries to put an end to the Phalanx infestation he accidentally brought to Earth as well as get a grip of what he has become.
While infiltrating a science facility where Phalanx material is experimented on, he meets Hope, young girl with immunity to the techno-organic virus as well as the ability to infect others by touch. Despite knowing that Hope is incredibly dangerous, he can't bring himself to kill her and after they get attacked by guard robots and a group called Psi-cops, Warlock and Hope escape together, along with Hope's infected pet monkey, Chi-Chee.

This starts a journey to keep Hope safe from a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent named Mainspring who originally kidnapped Hope and experimented on her and teach Hope how to control her abilities and somehow find a way to get rid of the Phalanx before it sends a beacon to Warlock's own race, the Technarchs to come and cleanse the Phalanx infestation and destroy Earth along it.

The series takes place after Warlock's death and reanimation as Douglock (originally thought to be the combination of previously killed New Mutant Douglas Ramsey and Warlock) and after his departure continues from Comicbook/Excalibur.

Marvel Premier issue 2. Adam Warlock stars in his first own ongoing series. The series follows Warlock, who lasted until issue 8, after learning which it was on a hiatus for 2 years. After that, the series resumed with issue 9 (hence that issue 9 says it's a "premier issue") and lasted until issue 15. Issue #9 is the first issue after the reviving of the series and was the continued story from Strange Tales #181.

Although a short series, it has been critically acclaimed for the ground breaking work Jim Starlin did in these comics.

Adam Warlock first appeared in Fantastic Four vol. 1 #66-67 (September-October, 1967), created by Creator/StanLee and Creator/JackKirby for a ComicBook/FantasticFour story, but as "Him", an artificial lifeform who had escaped its creators. In Marvel Premiere #1 (April, 1972) writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane reinvented him as Marvel Space Jesus, complete with crucifixion and resurrection! His task was to save an artificial parallel Earth (CounterEarth) from a rebellious creation of its maker, The High Evolutionary.

Nevertheless, he never really took off until a new writer got his hands on him - Jim Starlin. It was under him that Adam became the philosopher-hero

be today, as well as the ability to infect others ArchEnemy of Thanos. Starlin also introduced the rest of his supporting cast including Pip the Troll (his best friend, a drunken space satyr) and Gamora, his love interest, Thanos' former personal assassin.

Adam's major storylines involve his Evil Future Self, The Magus, whom he eliminated from existence
by touch. Despite knowing that Hope is incredibly dangerous, he can't bring killing himself to kill her in the future (both got better later) and after they get attacked the Infinity Gems, a collection of gemstones (said to be PiecesOfGod) that grant omnipotence if used all at the same time (Adam was given one, the Soul Gem, by guard robots the Evolutionary. He and his allies later took to guarding the rest, as a group called Psi-cops, team known as The Infinity Watch.)

Warlock has suffered at the hands of lesser writers over the years, but still exists in the Franchise/MarvelUniverse and Hope escape together, along with Hope's infected pet monkey, Chi-Chee.
