* ComicBookTime: The early albums are set during TheNineties, while the latest ones are set in TheNewTens, with Titeuf still being around the same age.

* OneSteveLimit: Averted. There are two boys named Jérôme. A friend Titeud made in a summer camp and Nadia's supposed boyfriend in ''Nadia gets married''.

* PaperThinDisguise: Titeuf and other students tries to disguise as an other student named Robert because he have a hot AU pair girl taking care of him and they wants to replace him. Their disguises is just them wearing glasses and combing their hairs like Robert even if they looks nothing like him.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Titeuf tries to bully a child that's half his height so he'll pay him a chocolate bar, then the chold grabs Titeuf and throws him into a vending machine, then he tells Titeuf he's a black belt in karate.

* PostKissCatatonia: PlayedWith, Titeuf stop mooving like a statue because he was ''very'' close to get a kiss from Nadia but didn't get it. He stay like this until night time and Manu is considering carrying him back at home.
* PottyFailure: Titeuf drink ''a lots'' of water at school for a contest of who can pee the farther, he's caught by surprise in the hall by an adult and end up peeing in his pants.

** Titeuf is said to be 8 and half but once had a short time crush on a girl who was about 11.

* SillyPrayer: Titeuf's grandma tells him that he can talk to god as he listen to him, Titeuf then tries to talk to him like in a phone call and ask for a Playstation, but then he's not sure how to end the conversation and is scared that god will think all of his thought are part of the prayer.
* SkewedPriorities: Titeuf cares more about getting a drawing of a 10 euros bill stolen than a real one.

** One gag is about Titeuf asking his parent how to make babies at different ages, They always gives a different explanation so Titeuf thinks that they actually forgot.

* UncannyFamilyResemblance: Titeuf makes fun of a kid because Nadia is attracted by him, later the kid's older brother comes to beat up Titeuf an he looks exactly like is little brother but bigger.

* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: Camille pulled a kid's underwears up to the top of his head because he was bothering Titeuf when they were younger.

*** Everyone vomit when they realise that Marco gave them bunny poops to eat, except Hervé who didn't eat them.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: Ramon have no problems about wearing a fairy costume and Titeuf is proved wrong when he thinks he will be considered ridiculous in it.
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: Romuald is three years younger than the others student and is till smarter than them. Much to the frustration of Titeuf who's sometime corrected on his work by him.

* CaptainObvious: Titeuf loses Nadia and Ramatou's rescpet due to a misunderstanding, and complain that Ramatou hates him now. Manu then casually add that Nadia hates him too as she insult Titeuf.
* CassandraTruth: Titeuf leaves his backpack with all his homeworks in it in an open space. People think it's a terrorist attack and it gets destroyed. In the last panel, Titeuf's teached says that it's the worst excuse for not doing homework she ever heard.

* ChildhoodMarriagePromise: When Titeuf was at the chreche, he offered a ring to Camille as a marrage proposal for the future. In the present, he regret doing this. While she kept the ring, she doesn't seem to take the proposal seriously anyway and Manu tries to take it back for Titeuf but instantanly gives it back to her from himself, technically playing this trope straight in the end.

* ADayInTheLimelight: One gag center around Nadia fantasizing about her ideal lover and being disgusted by the boys in the class. Titeuf only appears in two panel and have no more importance than the other boys.

** Nadia have often very good reason to slap Titeuf, however there is a gag where all she do is take a photo of her an deform it with a phone app jist for fun but that makes her angry enough to hit him.

* TheDreaded: Titeuf says that Camille scared every boys at the creche. Even if he was the only biy she wasn't bullying, he's scarred when they meets again.

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness : The first few volumes (the very first one in particular) are considerably DarkerAndEdgier (maybe HotterAndSexier ?) than the later ones. In fact, their boldness can be downright disturbing. The first album is also the only one in black and white.

** Titeuf's parents tends to do this when he says something non-sensical or embarassing.
** Titeuf himself do this whenever he witness Therese's stupidity to the point that his own hand leaves a mark on his face.

* FlippingTheBird: Jean-Claude gives the finger to Hugo, Titeuf and Manu one time the former make a remark on his teeth as they often do this to him.

** Hugo accidentally does this to Ramon when trying to launch him with a plank on a barrel by jumping on the other side of the plank, Ramon hasn't placed himself yet and thus takes the plank right between his legs.

** When the students come back from a school trip to the mountains, they all starts to brag to their moms on how they did dangerous stunts and almost died, then Hervé come out of the train with a broken leg in a plaster because he slipped in the stairs which make Titeuf calls him a show-off.

** A man nicknamed "Ray Charles" often tries to take the money of Titeuf and his friends, but they see him more as a joke than anything because he never realise that they just gives gim fake Monopoly bills or in Hervé's case: ''a piece of toilet paper''. When he gets arrested, the kids feels bad for him and offer him a Monopoly boardgame so he can play in prison.
** Another bully tried to pick on Titeuf and his friend, all ot got him was being vomited on by Hervé, being spitted on by Jean-Claude and having a smell of Puduk's socks, the latter sent him at the hospital and Titeuf and his friends thought about visiting him like a friend.

** When Titeuf says that Naida can't be marrid because she's too young, Hugo answers that his father knows a guy who reads an article on a girl who married at 9 in Africa.

** Titeuf says he knows how bunnies biology work because he watched every Bugs Bunny cartoons.

*** There's a French expression for kissing called "rouler une pelle" (rolling a shovel), Titeuf think it literally involve rolling the tip of a shovel in a girl's mouth. He tends to take others expressions literally too.

* NeverMyfault: Titeuf almost accidentally make a vase falls out of a table, then he intentionnaly try to push it to tempt fate and when it does fall, he blame god for not preventing the vase to fall.

** Hugo's father hits Hugo's big brother just for saying "meh" then hits his wife for defending her son. In the back cover of one comic, Titeuf says that Hugo gets his ass kicked by his father when he gets bad grades.
** Marco once says that his father will kick his ass if he comes home late.

* AerithAndBob: Titeuf (from ''"Tête d'Oeuf"'', "egghead", according to WordOfGod) versus the rest of the cast.

** Titeuf steps on someone's ffot when he's trying to uses stilts.

* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: Titeuf sometime find his father to be this, notably when he become jobless and is taking him to school by holding his hand and kissing him on the cheek in front of his friends before living.

* ArtisticLicenseEducation: Even though the books are set in an elementary school, they are sometime learning things you're not suppsed to learn before middle school.
* AsleepInClass: Though not asleep per se, the children are really, really bored in class, and it shows. It gets even worst when Mr. Dubouvreuil comes in the class to teach.

* BalloonBelly: Titeuf goes on a waterslide, head forst and dive into a pool with the mouth open, his body looks like a ''huge'' water balloon in the next panel.

* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: The teacher gets ''really'' tired of Titeuf always drawing Lucky Luke and tell him to draw his dreams which is the class' drawin theme for today. Titeuf then decide to draw the teacher getting tortured.

** François says that he stopped buying a brand of shoes because they use children labor, Manu says he stopped too in a not so believed way.
** When Titeuf's team is being curbstomped by Nadia's [[spoiler: cousin]] at basketball, he says that they let him win out of politeness.

** Camille, an old crush of Titeuf was this to every kids accept him.

* CallingYourAttacks: One gag is about Titeuf and his friends having food fights and giving an attack name for every food he uses.

* DisproportionateRetribution: Titeuf can be harshly punished for petty reasons. There's one moment where a woman ''slap'' him for innocently asking if she have menopause, he's a ''kid''.

* TheBully: Titeuf and his friends often come across some older bullies, the most prominant one is the great Diego.

* CordonBleughChef; Titeuf onnce ate two chocolate tablets with honey and ''cheese'' between them. He calls it the "gerbosandwich de la mort", basically the "barfsandwich of the dead".

* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: Done accidentally by Titeuf, when he gets punished for unintentioally calls a rector "Mr. Rectum" he tells Manu that "The Rectum is a real asshole".

* DrowningMySorrows: Discussed, During a school travel, Titeuf find his underwear on the ground but he doesn't want to admit it's his, so the teacher simply throws it away. Cut to Titeuf at home telling then when he'll grow up, he'll be able to drink to forget this implying he had to sleep without underwears in a room with other students.

* TheDiseaseThatShallNotBeNamed: The infestation of headlice in the school. When Titeuf hears that kids with lice will be sent home for treatment, he sets about getting some. He gets sent to the school nurse instead.

* {{Irony}}: Titeuf thinks Nadia has a boyfriend, so he ask his cousin Julie to seduce him to separate them, [[spoiler: he was actually Nadia's cousin]].

* TheReveal: In ''Nadia gets married'', the guy everyone thought was her husband was actually [[spoiler: her cousin]].

* AgonyOfTheFeet: Titeuf steps on someone's ffot when he's trying to uses stilts.

One of the most popular FrancoBelgianComics, ''Titeuf'', created in 1992 by the Swiss cartoonist Philippe Chappuis, aka ''Zep'' (as in Music/LedZeppelin), tells the everyday life of the 8-year-old Titeuf and his buddies, specifically on their... confused views regarding the adults and the world. It frequently plays with the ChildrenAreInnocent trope: The kids are far more aware of sex, drugs and the like than the adults would believe, but almost always by ComicallyMissingThePoint, especially Titeuf himself. A translated version appeared for a short while in ComicBook/TheDandy.

* ToiletHumor: A common humor in the books. There's is for exemple a page where Titeuf and an other kid have fun throwing cat poo at each others.

* IAteWhat: Marco once gave bunny poops to eat to some students, saying it was drug.

* ToiletHumor: Quite often.

* EyeScream: Titeuf runs around with a toy plane and accidentally shoves it in Hugo's eye.

* TheTalk: One page is a single big panel with the teacher talking about bees during a sexual education class. Meanwhile Hugo is showing a porn magazine at the other end of the classroom.

** Titeuf exchange insults with another kid over marbles, the other kid call Titeuf a "pédale" which means pedal but is also a French euphemism to insult homosexual men, Titeuf though he was called an actual bycicle pedal and use [[LameComeback "handlebar" as a comeback]] before the other kid explain him.
** When Hugo tells Titeuf that he probably don't know how to make love, he's right, Titeuf than have several [[ImagineSpot imagine spots]] with one of them being someone literally "making love" by building a heart with bricks.
** Titeuf is asked by a girl to [[PlayingDoctor play doctor]] with him, he stimulate an injection.
** There's a French expression for kissing called "rouler une pelle" (rolling a shovel), Titeuf think it literally involve rolling the tip of a shovel in a girl's mouth.
** In French, "ruler" and "period" uses the same word (règle), so when Hugo says that a girl must have her periods and that it happen in her panties, Titeuf expect to find a ruler.

** Titeuf hears the expressions "wooden tongue" and "ass-licker", he thinks they literally involve having a wooden log for a tongue and licking someone's ass.
** Hugo shows Titeuf Nadia's diary, when Titeuf hears "Dear diary..." he think she's actually writting to someone named that way.
** Titeuf makes pun about Therese's name offscreen, she think he seriously asked if her last name was the PunnyName he said.
** Titeuf tries to explain Therese that what's written about her on social medias on her phone are by real people, she tells him that more than hundred people can't possibly fit into a phone, but then she believe him literally and she break Dumbo's phone which had something written about her, thinking that the ''phone'' itself was mean.

* CatchPhrase: Titeuf have "C'est pô juste..." (s'not fair...) and "Tcho", the latter is sometime used by other kids.

* ChildrenAreInnocent: Discussed and subverted. There's a page where Titeuf and Manu plays Cow-boy and Indian in front of their moms, they think they look all innocent, then Titeuf ask for a knife to his mom so he can scalp Manu.

* GroinAttack: Manu climbs a tree to pick up a stuck football and fall groin first on a branch.

* LiteralMinded: Justified since most characters are children.

** Titeuf's father can be this especially in early comics where he tended to slap or punish Titeuf for asking an inapropriate question even tough he's just a child and is not aware that he shouldn't ask things like this. He's way less violent in laters books though. Later Manue and François think Titeuf's father beats him because ''he'' have a blaked eye now but it's actually the girl who did it to him.
** Discussed when Titeuf and Hugo see girl with a blacked eye and Hugo believe that her father beats her, though there is no indication that it is true and the girl gets angry at Titeuf for insulting her father so it's likely false.
