The initial series, later titled "Americarnivore", served as a sequel to the 2003 film. Abnett and Lanning would also write two prequel comics; ''About a Boy'' (about Leatherface's childhood) and ''Hoyt, By Himself'' (about Sheriff Hoyt's stint during UsefulNotes/TheKoreanWar.
