Ojichan is an old man who has lived a long life. In his youth, he was a {{Samurai}}, but now he just wants to settle down and be a grandfather in his family and live a life of peace. When Ojichan shows up at his door, he finds his son Kyo dead, his daughter-in-law Harumi distraught over his murder, and his granddaughter Kimiko gone. He also finds a piece of paper on the ground, which has on it a symbol belonging to an old enemy from Ojichan's past.
His mission before him set, Ojichan sets out to go rescue his daughter. Along the way, he meets an eclectic cast of characters, friends new and old, and travels to lands he never knew before.
