Ichi initially as she only wanted marry Jeremy to become leader of her ninja clan. But the more she comes to know Jeremy the more she seem genuinely willing to marry him. [[spoiler: Ultimately it doesn't happen and she marries Lendo.]]]]
** Soloria likewise when her family dump her on Earth. She starts off as a major RoyalBrat and barely even tries to get along with the others. She mellows out over the course of the series after some interactions and adventures. By the time she has to go, she's sadden to be leaving her new friends.

Unsure if Relationship Revolving Door fits, but can't identify a mlore accurate trope.

* BeastMan: Salusians' natural form is probably best described as "anthropomorphic skunk." Their muzzle is less pronounced than an actual skunk's muzzle, and they have hands and platigrade feet, but they otherwise greatly resemble human-sized striped skunks. [[spoiler: When humans are transformed into this form, they, much like Salusians, retain one marker of their species - in this case, a lack of a tail.]]

* LoveDodecahedron: Natch.

to:

* LoveDodecahedron: Natch.It's a series inspired by ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'' and ''Manga/UruseiYatsura''. Naturally, romantic entanglements get ''complicated''.
** At the core is the LoveTriangle between Jeremy, Ichi-kun, and Asrial. This is ultimately resolved when Jeremy and Asrial have kids and get married. Yes, in that order.
** Lendo is introduced in a LoveTriangle with Jeremy and Ichi-kun. This is ultimately resolved when Lendo and Ichi-kun hook up due to Jeremy choosing Asrial.
** Minor character Kaiju Akaru arrives hoping to claim Ichi-kun as his girlfriend, but gives up on her after being beaten in a fight by Jeremy.

* MorphicResonance: This is a noted flaw in the Salusian species-altering technology; a creature transformed into a different creature will always have some trait carried over that makes their base species easier to guess. This is why Asrial's human form still has Salusian ears atop her head, as well as a second set of human ears in the normal place. [[spoiler: When humans are turned into Salusians by the same technology, they lack tails.]]

%%* QuirkyTown: Quagmire as well.

to:

%%* * QuirkyTown: Quagmire is a place so weird that warring {{Mad Scientist}}s, alien visitors and McNinja battles don't even warrant a batted eyelid.
* RelationshipRevolvingDoor: Initially, Jeremy is seemingly destined to ultimately hook up with Ichi-kun, with the group even meeting a time-traveling child of theirs. But Jeremy ultimately decides to almost literally ScrewDestiny and marries Asrial instead, resulting in that timeline being erased
as well.he instead fathers three half-Salusian children instead.
* RelationshipUpgrade: Over the course of the original series, Jeremy, Lendo, Ichi-kun and Asrial go from a LoveDodecahedron to two married couples; Jeremy and Arial, and Lendo and Ichi-kun.

* RoyalBlood: "A human is no match for a Salusian of Imperial Birth!"

to:

* RoyalBlood: Asrial is a princess of the Salusian royal family, and has no shame in reminding others of this. It seems to be a family trait, as well.
-->
"A human is no match for a Salusian of Imperial Birth!"

* ScrewDestiny: Or rather "Screw Tradition" which Ricky does, bringing him into conflict with the Elder Stars.

to:

* ScrewDestiny: Or rather ScrewDestiny:
** At one point in the original series, Jeremy encounters a time-traveling child of his and Ichi-kun's, who states it's his destiny to marry the ninja. Instead, he chooses Asrial the alien.
** Ricky decides to instead
"Screw Tradition" which Ricky does, Tradition", bringing him into conflict with the Elder Stars.

* ShapeshiftingLover

to:

* ShapeshiftingLoverShapeshiftingLover: Jeremy and Asrial's relationship is a science fiction, non-tragic take on the genre. In particular, once it's revealed to him, Jeremy has no problems with Asrial's true body.

* SmellySkunk: Subverted with the Salusians, who despite looking like [[BeastMan humanoid skunks]] have no musk glands. They compensate with SuperStrength instead -- at least, their rulers do.

* StupidJetpackHitler: Seriously Ben loves his (fictional) Nazis.

to:

** Thanks to a brainwashing early in the series, ''Jeremy'' also has a super''genius'' evil side ([[BadassNormal good in a fight, too]]), more or less Doctor Doom in a [[PuttingOnTheReich Nazi-esque]] uniform.

to:

* TestosteronePoisoning: Kaiju Akaru, an island native who doesn't know anything about modern civilization and largely judges everything on how manly it is.

* TimeyWimeyBall: Mita Celande has a time machine, and some of her temporal doings (such as taking Mimi Masters and Jeremy back to when the Feeple line was cursed by Mimi's ancestor) start throwing monkey wrenches in how things are to play out. She eventually has to leave due to a TemporalParadox (namely, that her ancestors [[spoiler: Jeremy and Ichi-kun]] were no longer going to have children together) potentially negating her existence.

* Original series (Vol 1-9). Ran for 100 issues. 1987 to November, 2002 (Yes, ''fifteen years''). The first bulk is mostly that of Jeremy's adventures with a few stories focused on side characters. Later on most of the stories focused on Ricky and his own entourage of girls (In this case Lendo's step-sister Yumei, Superhero Heidi, and a Salusian Princess with a purchased title, Solora). This is considered Vol 2 of the series. There is also the mini series "Quagmire USA".

There was an attempt at a revival series in June 2014 which saw a new alien race calling themselves the "Kuroni" have possessed the people of Quagmire and plan to enslave all of Earth. Anne Feeple and Prof Steamhead are the only two unaffected and are forced to jump to an alternate dimension to find means to defeat them. Thus setting this series in a new world. However there was no follow up past the 176th issue and the only thing of Ninja High School since then was "Super Ninja High School", a one-off that had the characters dealing with [[{{Expy}} expies]] of video game characters. At the current the series is in hiatus.

* DisappearedDad: Jermey's, subverted as he finds out his dad is {{Trapped In Another World}}, a mouse based one, highly ironic in that Mr. Feeple's profession is a ''rat exterminator''. What's more, he is now the ''king'' of the land and can't return to the human one as the mouse people don't have the technology to do so without fatal side effects.

* FriendlyRivalry: Professors Steamhead and Beanhead - each one is convinced that his specialty (steam and beans respectively, of course) is superior to the other, and the two do have a habit of bickering over this. That said, the two work together remarkably well (and have since World War II), and for all the superscience each has at their fingertips, the worst the two get into are occasional put-downs of the other's discipline.

* HappilyAdopted: Anna Feeple (previously Anna Ichinohei), who was brought into the Ichinohei clan after her mother was killed while helping Kudasai during the second World War. In fact, one of the conditions that Kudasai (her adopted father) put on granting permission for her to marry Bob Feeple was that their first-born son would marry the first-born daughter of Kudasai's biological son, so that Anna could finally have a blood relation to the Kudasai clan.

* RobotMaid: Nanny, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin whose name describes what she does for Asrial]]. Her design is based on the robots from ''Anime/CastleInTheSky''.

* {{Shout Out}}: Plenty, in fact the comic pretty much runs on this. In the picture above, Asrial is pretty much wearing the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamZZ Gundam Double Zeta]]

The series contains {{Lawyer Friendly Cameo}}s and {{Captain Ersatz}}es of characters from other media, usually but not always Japanese; these included ''KamenRider'', ''PowerRangers[=/=]SuperSentai'', ''Franchise/HarryPotter'', ''Franchise/{{Superman}}'', ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls'', ''Franchise/{{Terminator}}'', ''VideoGame/NinjaGaiden'', ''Franchise/{{Transformers}}'', ''Anime/NadiaTheSecretOfBlueWater'', ''Manga/UruseiYatsura'' the ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'' series and ''especially'' ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'' (seriously looking at the early chapters, you'd be forgiven for thinking this whole series was an out and out parody of it).

* DullSurprise: Whenever a shot of random locals is shown reacting to the latest weirdness Jeremy and crew are up to, the reaction is generally to look up and say "That wasn't there yesterday."

* LittleBitBeastly: Salusians transformed into human form retain their original ears poking out of their hair... in addition to having human ears.

* MundaneUtility: Ninja skills apparently can make any household task easier. Taken UpToEleven by Ichi's father - apparently, the ''only'' thing he ever used his ninja skills for was to show off for others. The few shots of him using any remotely ninja-like skill are generally implied to be him entertaining at parties.
