In fact, as mentioned in the {{SavedByCanon}} section, the story this is expanded from (which this is an {{AlternateContinuity}} to) ended with Archie raising his kids wife his wife. The constant between the universes is that Archie chooses either Betty or Veronica.[[spoiler:The fact that he dies is not the constant because the Archie Prime universe's Archie hasn't died. The future of the Prime Universe (if we ever see it) is unknown and if Archie getting killed before having kids is considered a constant between the universes, than so is him having a {{HappyEnding}} where he isn't shot and raises his kids.]]
