The series revives classic British comic-book characters like ComicBook/SteelClaw, ComicBook/TheSpider, and ComicBook/CaptainHurricane.

* BloodKnight: Deconstructed with Captain Hurricane. Though described in the original stories' narration as a "[[InformedAttribute genial giant]]", Hurricane always seemed on the verge of great anger over the slightest thing, grew moody and irritable whenever circumstances kept him away from battle, and would trounce anyone in his way once his "ragin' furies" took hold of him. In this universe, it's revealed that he was the closest thing to perfect to come out of a failed super-soldier program (possibly being only ''14'' at the time), and his furies were [[TheBerserker uncontrollable psychotic massacres]] where he ripped enemy tanks, and soldiers, to shreds; "Maggot" Malone, who posed as his loyal batman, is implied to be the doctor who originally created him, and has been charged with keeping him heavily sedated him throughout the war (and decades afterward) to ensure he would remain semi-functional and quiet.

* PaedoHunt: Grimly Feendish is said by Eagleton to be "a moral degenerate" singularly "obsessed with corrupting our children's minds", with "gross indecency" on the list of charges that landed him in prison, and the dialogue between the two plays very much like an adult molestation victim confronting their abuser. When Feendish finally traps his old enemy in the elevator, his monsters begin fondling Eagleton as the poor man cowers in fear.

* ItsPersonal: Heavily implied between Eagle-Eye, the warden of the asylum, and Feendish, who had been his arch nemesis in the days of ''Eagle Eye, Junior Spy''. The trauma Feendish caused him as a child hero is implied to be the reason why Eagle Eye helped imprison all other costumed people.

** Alf, a member of the original Numskulls, makes a cameo as part of the Fatty "colony"; as the characters are owned by DC Thomson, the specimen is only identified as "MENORG [=NUM9281=]".

** In the original comics, Hurricane was a heroic soldier with super strength who helped fight the Germans during [=WW2=]. Albion reveals that he's actually the only survivor of a SuperSoldier experiment, which turned him into a superhuman psychopath who butchered countless enemy soldiers with his bare hands in a berserker rage (a reference to the original character's destructive "ragin' furies" that were unleashed when the already massive strong Hurricane really lost his temper).

** Alf, a member of the original Numskulls, makes a cameo as part of the Fatty "colony"; as the characters are owned by DC Thomson, the specimen is only identified as "MENORG NUM9281".

* UngratefulBastard: Back in the 80's, The Spider agreed to help UsefulNotes/MargaretThatcher's government round up every superhero and supervillain, as well as anyone else with powers who might have disrupted the Tories' plans, which he did. As a reward, he ended up being locked up, too.

* TheMasquerade: The Thatcher goverment had everyone with superhuman abilities or otherwise extraordinary tendencies rounded up and locked away because they didnt want anyone disrupting the rigid society of Conservative Britain.

* UngratefulBastard: Back in the 80's, The Spider agreed to help UsefulNotes/MargaretThatcher's government round up every superhero and supervillain, as well as anyone else with powers who might have disrupted the Tories' plans, which he did. As a reward, he ended up being locked up, too.
* TheQuisling: Jason Hyde, "The Man With the X-Ray Eyes", works as a security guard in the asylum, helping to keep his former allies locked away.

Albion changes the comical portrayal of his ghoulish behavior, and shows him to be a mass murderer and psychopath who traumatized his underage nemesis.
