* AggressiveNegotiations: Pretty much her bread and butter -- using mild earthquakes for intimidation, frequently raising her voice, and otherwise presenting herself as outright assertive.
* CharacterFilibuster: As the assertive leader of Agartha, Triss can't help but giving frequent long, well thought out speeches and monologues -- often going paragraphs at a time without interruption.
* ConsummateProfessional: She takes great pride in her work, to the point that it's somewhat all-consuming, and expects the best out of other professionals she associates with.
* ControlFreak: Around others, including her own husband, absolutely. Around her daughters, it's a mixed bag. She controls their lives to a degree, insists they evolve before turning 18, but she also lets them speak -- Tilly in particular is fairly close to her equal. This is because she has been grooming the triplets for a career in politics.
* HeelFaceTurn: Does this as soon as she feels the party can be trusted -- although her status as a heel to begin with is debatable, being more like a shark in a shark tank.
* LargeHam: If her use of mild, unsettling earthquakes to make an entrance when annoyed aren't enough of a hint, her manner of speaking pretty much locks her into this trope. She's also prone to long filibusters, and can't help but remind folks that she is the mayor every three posts or so.
* ManipulativeBastard: Demonstrates this during the "tense dinner" scene, where she plays all sorts of mind games to uncover the truth about Jani/Milly, not to mention the humanmons as a whole.
* MoralSociopathy: Make no mistake about it -- she's a high-functioning sociopath. Whatever face she's wearing at the moment and whatever platitude she's spewing at the moment are both probably rehearsed. That said, she's still looking out for both her family and her city.

* PanderingToTheBase: During her discussion with one of the Explouds, she makes it clear that she puts a lot of stock into her approval ratings.
* ParentalFavoritism: Makes it pretty clear that Tilly, the rational one, is her favorite. Given that Milly was the one sponsored into Orichalcum, however, this may not have always been the case.
* TigerMom: Definitely has a bit of this going on, aggressively concerned about her daughters' upbringing and standing in the world. She does demonstrate some degree of love and tolerance at the epilogue of the Agartha arc, approving of Jani's business venture since it would ultimate benefit the trio -- and best case Milly as well.

A Tyranitar who talks somewhat like a sailor. He was cursed by a Ninetales to turn everyone who touched with his hands into a copy of him for 10 minutes due to expecting everyone to think and act like him. Joins Maran and Cortez on their quest for Danjor Island.
* CloneByConversion: Essentially what his curse entails, as Rich turns other Pokémon into doubles of himself by touching them. Unlike most examples, the transformed victims aren't any danger and quickly return to normal, and Rich resents having this power instead of abusing it.
* GentleGiant: A Tyranitar JerkWithAHeartOfGold.
* HappilyMarried: In spite of his rather conceited nature, he seems to have a very nice relationship with his wife Polly and desperately wants to lift his curse so he can continue living with her without worrying about his curse affecting her.
* HumblePie: Was a rather conceited character before being cursed. By the time the party meets him for the first time, it's clear that the experience was very humbling for him and he doesn't act high and mighty in the slightest.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Despite how egotistical he is, according to his wife, Rich really is a sweet guy deep down. Indeed, by the time the party meets him (some time after he was cursed), he is quite amicable and befriends the party fairly quickly, indicating that the curse enabled the "gold" part of his personality to really show.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Before being cursed, he was a quite selfish individual who didn't seem to understand that not everyone would think or do the same things as him. Acting this way towards an unknown Ninetails is what got him saddled with his curse.
* TalkLikeAPirate: Rich's thick accent comes off like this.
* TeamDad: Shows shades of this during the Blissparce side-story, being one of the more level-headed members of the party there and (although it was actually Taylor Amaranth as one of his doubles) is shown to be capable of giving Cortez an encouraging RousingSpeech when the Tyrantrum-turned-Tyrunt is at his wit's end.

Harold, the Koffing, is louder, more energetic, and a tad bit neurotic. They're good friends with Leonard the Lapras, who carries them around the islands on their journey.
