* ResurgentEmpire: Downplayed, in that Valmore's recreated empire is a bit of a mess. * EntitledBastard: While he is motivated by [[spoiler:a desire to bring salvation to his people]], Galerius also just feels entitled to rule over Fevrith. Alain calls Galerius out on this in their final confrontation, saying that he's proven himself totally unworthy of sovereignty through all the senseless destruction he's wrought. [[spoiler:It was with this same attitude of entitlement that Galerius first came to conquer Fevrith in ancient times and led to his entire empire's ruin through his own greed for immortality.]]

And when, in the endgame, Alain offers to break the curse shackling the Zenoirans to their undead state, Galerius tries to attack him; it's not enough in his mind to be free if he's not ''also'' master of the continent.]]

* PlagueMaster: The ancient Zenoirans had access to biological weapons, and Baltro demonstrates the ability to kill both plant and animal life with custom-made diseases at various points in the story.

* VampiricDraining: While it's a bit unclear where this trope ends and ForTheEvulz begins, Baltro spreads [[PlagueMaster dark plagues across Fevrith]], defiling the land and killing many people, seemingly to power up his magick and gain more corpses for his necromancy to animate.

* BreakHisHeartToSaveHim: [[spoiler:She told Travis he was a weakling and held her back, so he'd not follow her when she joined the empire, with the purpose to gain a powerful armor to use against them to avenge their family.]]

* BreakHisHeartToSaveHim: [[spoiler:She told Travis he was a weakling and held her back, so he'd not follow her when she joined the empire, with the purpose to gain a powerful armor to use against them to avenge their family.]]]] She's also one of the only love interests who'll flat-out try to talk Alain out of offering her the Ring of the Maiden, requiring an additional dialogue check to accept, even though it's then made clear she loves him too, because she doesn't want him to be harmed by the magick of the rings if circumstances force them to fight one another.

* DefrostingIceQueen: Berengaria has a sharp tongue, a cold, even brutal personality, and is noticeably frosty to most of the other characters, even her own brother to a point and ''especially'' the Cornians, but all of her Rapports show her softer side eventually. She's one of the only love interests who outright kisses Alain on-screen in their Rite of the Unicorn and Maiden scene.

* JackOfAllStats: As an Axe Dark Marquess she's got overall balanced stats and can fit into nearly any party composition. Her only mediocre stat is her Guard Rate, but that's mostly moot as she has access to great shields which already have a high guard rate. Her starting skillset includes a lethal combination of an high-initiative blanket enemy debuff, a sweeping stun attack for groups, a single-target heavy blow for individuals, and even a follow-up LifeDrain attack for survivability.

* StarCrossedLovers: The reason she gives for initially refusing the Ring of the Maiden; she doesn't want Alain to suffer if they're forced to fight one another. In her romantic ending, [[spoiler: it's averted, although the text notes that she proves a poor fit as queen and spends much of her time commanding the Tricorn Mercenaries instead of ruling alongside him]].

* AnIcePerson: Ironically, despite complaining about the cold, she is still a Sorceress who specializes in casting ice magic. She carries an Icestorm Staff, which allow her to cast ''Blizzard'' that freezes your entire unit if she successfully completes the charge. She is also immune to freeze due to the same staff, so trying to stop her with your own Sorceress will not work.

Added DiffLines:

* ArmyOfThievesAndWhores: The Zenoiran military is a mixed bag, filled with proper knights and trained soldiers alongside mercenaries, criminals, and ex-convicts, and that's to say nothing of them running the gauntlet of being willing participants, reluctant ones press-ganged into service, or the ones under MindControl. Berengaria in her opening scene in her jail cell disdainfully remarks to the Zenoiran commander Hagen trying to shame her for betraying Zenoira that for all Zenoira's pretensions of being TheEmpire, their military will nab anyone they can get their hands on to fill the ranks simply because otherwise they wouldn't have the manpower to keep the whole continent under their nominal control.

* RewardedAsATraitorDeserves: After swearing loyalty to Galerius, Gailey was put to work aiding the conquest of Drakenhold, a bitter and difficult campaign. Upon its completion, his considerable contributions were noted before he was KickedUpstairs to watch over Elheim, but was effectively rendered [[spoiler:Alcina's]] crony. To illustrate, Galerius saw fit to trust the brainwashed Hodrick and Renault with advancing his true endgame whilst Gailey languished in a region the emperor was no longer personally invested in.

* FourStarBadass: Anton is a general in the southern Zenoiran army who alongside Giethe was heavily responsible for the subjugation and current occupation of Drakenhold by the empire. He's good enough that he's entrusted with leading a massive army to crush the Drakenhold resistance once and for all in Baumratte.

A Cornian lord known for his cruelty even before Zenoira's invasion gave him the opportunity to defect and satiate his bloodlust. He currently stands as the General of Pritzlasse Fortress, a great iron fortress of Drakenhold said to be impenetrable.

Added DiffLines:

* FourStarBadass: According to his Archive entry, Giethe further distinguished himself to Galerius by aiding in the defeat and occupation of Drakenhold in a leadership position. Considering his OneManArmy status, he likely did just as much killing as he did leading.

Added DiffLines:

* WouldHurtAChild: When Giethe slaughtered the Knights of the Rose [[spoiler:to get at Virginia ten years ago during the original coup that brought down Cornia, she wasn't much more than a pre-teen at the time. That did nothing to abate his desire to serve her severed head right to Galerius as a spoil of victory.]]
