* AloofDarkHairedGirl: Tatia comes off as a ProperLady who has an air of elegance and sophistication.
* DamselInDistress: Since it seems as though Esther had used Tatia in the spell that helped to turn her entire family into vampires and also in the spell to bind Klaus' werewolf side, which is believed to have killed her, it could be assumed that Tatia was this.
** Esther revealed that she never killed Tatia and never wanted to, she had hoped she and Elijah would hit it off, but since he was new to his vampirism, he accidentally killed her when he lost control of the bloodlust.

Esther had done this because she wanted to end the SiblingRivalry between Elijah and Klaus, which only became more intense because of both brothers being in love with Tatia. It turns out it was Elijah that killed her in a moment of blood frenzy; this act haunted him for centuries though was repressed.
* ProperLady: Tatia looks pretty similar to Amara because she has an exquisite and poised aura and attitude about her.
* SiblingTriangle: Tatia was involved in a love triangle with Elijah and Klaus, which only managed to intensity the SiblingRivalry between the two brothers as both brothers were in love with her. According to Elijah, Klaus loved Tatia more than he did though she loved Elijah more.
* StarCrossedLovers: With Elijah. She never loved Klaus. But since Elijah accidentally killed her, they could never be together like they and Esther wanted. Klaus had accepted the fact that Tatia was in love with Elijah.
* WildHair: Her hair is wild and in many braids, as was the fashion and norm for those who lived in the 10th Century AD.

* HotMom: Mac has a boy and a girl at the Mystic Falls High School and she is often seen flirting with Alaric, who is likewise attracted to her.

Kieran is a priest with a dark past. According to Kieran, his parish was once the heart of the neighborhood until a massacre happened inside the church. Kieran takes vervain and knows about the vampires, including the Original Vampires. While Kieran generally does not interfere with Marcel's affairs, he draws the line when it comes to the welfare of the humans in the community.

* BadassPreacher: He has shades of this. Klaus and Marcel respects him for his courage.

* CruelAndUnusualDeath: This was beginning to happen to him, the hex makes people go mad and kill before killing themselves, Klaus was forced to mercy kill Kieran when siring him didn't work.
* DealWithTheDevil: Eh, sort of. Though Kieran does technically have a 'deal' with Marcel over how the city is run, it seems more like a give-and-take alliance than anything else (Marcel as the vampire king, and Kieran standing in as a representative of the human faction). This is further subverted when it's heavily implied Marcel's rule is dependent on people like Father Kieran keeping his secrets. He actually mentions that he would make a literal deal with the devil to see Agnes meet her comeuppance.
* EnemyMine: Previously, with Marcel. Kieran came to him for help in stopping the witch's Harvest ritual that would require the sacrifice of four girls.
* MercyKill: What Klaus is forced to do for him as the vampirism didn't cure the Hex.

* TheFettered: Unlike the rest of the Human Faction, who most of are or were corrupt(see above) Kieran genuinely cares about the community and wellbeing of people.
* TurbulentPriest: Averted, or at least subverted. While Kieran is pretty clear in his dislike of the vampire king, Marcel, he's not with the witches resistance against him. Instead, he has EnemyMine arrangements with Marcel against the witches, and is part of the reason Marcel gets away with what he does in the Quarter.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Might be one-sided but despite their strained relationship, Marcel considered him a friend and a good man, Davina seems to think they were actually friends too.

Camille's twin brother and Father Kieran's nephew. He was studying to become a priest like his uncle when a witch who was angry at Kieran's interference with the New Orleans Coven's Harvest ritual hexed him with the Rosary of Madness. Shortly afterward, the hex drove Sean insane and caused him to kill all nine of his fellow seminary students before finally killing himself.

* SacrificialLamb: He is mercilessly killed to show how far Klaus will go if he is not allowed to control Davina. Tim like Davina, was but a child, only 16. Klaus has killed children before however, the twin sons of Papa Tunde looked even younger than Tim.
