Over the next 100 years, he gradually emerges as the dictator of a large society called 'Homeland' which he rules with an iron fist.

[[spoiler:Guilder's reign comes to an end when Lila Kyle, whom he had used to control the Virals, kills herself and Lawrence Grey, who was the source of his immortality. He ages rapidly and is ripped apart by the Twelve, who believed he had purposefully lured them to the Homeland to destroy them.]]

Lila's life is prolonged by Grey's blood, and she is also given the ability to control the Virals. She eventually snaps out of her delusional state, and kills herself along with Grey.]]

Grey is killed along with Lila when she betrays Guilder.]]
