** After the ''MyPetMonster'' debacle, he's learned not to be entitled and complain about having to watch something when it's a movie he actually bought or rented.

* DespairEventHorizon: He's already well past it when ''Film/TheNeverendingStory III'' begins. He approaches it at the end of ''MyPetMonster'' and start of the following "Nostalgic Commercials" video, falling over the edge near the end.

* PinkMeansFeminine: His bedroom has pink curtains. Amusingly, the first time we saw them was when he was writing in his diary like a teenage girl in the ''MyPetMonster'' review.

* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Sensitive Guy to the Other Guy's Manly Man. He also acted as the Sensitive Guy to WebVideo/TheAngryVideoGameNerd's Manly Man in their crossover.

* AttentionWhore: The Nostalgia Chick gently bitches about his hogging all the limelight when he shows up dressed as TimCurry in her review of ''TheWorstWitch''. The beginning of ''Dawn Of The Commercials'' has him lapping up the praise of a huge crowd and choir music (because he's doing another commercials) like he's some kind of messiah. In “Old vs New: Spider-Man”, this is the reason why he doesn't just unfriend Hyper and be free of her guilt-tripping. By the time he's realized his own safety is more important, it's way too late.

* ButtMonkey: While he tries to act like a successful MeanBoss during crossovers, either the others get the upper hand or his own patheticness does him in.

A [[DeadpanSnarker sarcastic]], [[ManChild bratty]] [[TroubledButCute mess]] who likes his [[CausticCritic temper tantrums]]. WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic is a reviewer of film and television from TheEighties and [[TheNineties Nineties]] and the show's star.

* CatBoy: Much to [[http://thatchickwiththegifs.tumblr.com/post/140712794040/catnc-vs-dognc-cats-and-dogs-review tumblr's enjoyment]], the mother in “Cats And Dogs” makes him bat string like a cat, and play fetch like a dog.

* IJustWantToBeYou: He's bitchy to child actors who he thinks doesn't deserve the attention they get, not getting that they mostly lead really hard lives. One of the reasons he hates Satine from ''MoulinRouge'' (who is ''a prostitute'' mind you) is because she's not satisfied with the attentive adulation she gets. He's genuinely confused as to why the Superman cartoon version of Lois Lane wants praise for her work instead of her tiny skirt. [[AttentionWhore Notice a]] [[IJustWantToBeLoved pattern]]?

* LookingForLoveInAllTheWrongPlaces: His romantic life would put [[Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer Buff's]] to shame.

* {{Adorkable}}: His awkwardness has a tendency to ''really'' come out during the "Old vs. New" segments and his intense, enduring love for Christmas was very sweet until Doug went DarkerAndEdgier and twisted said love into [[http://channelawesome.com/nostalgia-critic-grandma-got-run-over-by-a-reindeer/ psychosis]]. He's still a nerd who tends to get enthusiastic over certain things and it's endearing to watch, like how he was so excited to review ''Lady in the Water''.

* IWantToBeARealMan: So desperate to be manly in reboot especially.

* {{Squee}}: As the "Follow That Bird" review proved, [[UpToEleven he can go higher than a teenage girl]] when he's excited. He even squees the trope name in his review of ''Film/{{Alaska}}''.

* SexIsViolence: He looks suspiciously post-coital after he causes a mass explosion. And the chaos of the "Pink Elephants On Parade" makes him exhaustedly ask "Was it good for you?".

** In the "Top 11 Disney Villains", Lady Tremain is the only one he wants to punch in the face that he hates so much. Lady Tremain of course being the only abusive parental figure on the list.

* LaughingMad: In ''Film/TheNeverendingStory III'' review, after finishing the movie and [[GoMadFromTheRevelation getting mad]], in ''Chairman Of The Board'' where he laughs manically when he gets the meaning of Edison's name, when ''Film/JingleAllTheWay'' ruins the one funny joke they had and when Zack shows his new haircut in ''SavedByTheBell''. That last one gave him an orgasm.

* GagPenis: [[spoiler: Thanks to Catherine Zeta-Jones, The Critic is unable to stand up from his chair and walk away at the end of his review of ''Film/ThePhantom.'' Even he's embarrassed by it.]] It's also big enough that it keeps thumping against the desk during his review of ''Film/BlankCheck''.

* DefiledForever: Other than Chick going into DontYouDarePityMe mode and wanting revenge, he's the only left broken over getting raped by Spoony. Even if WebVideo/ToBoldlyFlee where he's trying to save him, the spooning is still on his mind.

* DistressedDude: He got kidnapped by the Game Heroes and was made to promote their stuff at gunpoint.

** He gleefully mocked the [[invoked]] SelectiveSquick part of his audience at the end of “Rise Of The Commercials”, where he innuendoes plenty on how to give good blowjobs, and when that makes them boo instead of the Canada rape jokes, he says he looks forward to losing them as viewers before leaving.

* AggressiveSubmissive: A force of nature personality coupled with an ExtremeDoormat need to be loved will make you one of these.
* AintTooProudToBeg: He'll even whore himself out as long [[WesternAnimation/TomAndJerry you]] don't play another song. Variant in ''Future's End'' when Snob tells him in basic terms to do his SexSlave job again. He breaks down crying immediately, but kneels down and unzips anyway.

* ConditionedToAcceptHorror: The bad upbringing gives him a few moments, like thinking every family have regular giant arguments at dinner, rape not being considered a special type of evil or defending kinky fantasies at a very young age. Lampshaded in the “Top 11 New Halloween Classics”, where he admits that abusive family stuff at Halloween probably hasn't happened to you, but he has a past.

* EveryoneHasStandards: He usually “jumps at the opportunity” to make a dick joke, but the one in ''Film/TheAdventuresOfPlutoNash'' is so half-assed that he just wants to relish the next one and pass this over.

* MasterOfTheMixedMessage: To the Hyper Fangirl. Not because he has any feeling towards her, but he doesn't help her deluded viewpoint when he pretends to be her friend (because he likes rejecting her attention), threatens to stalk her back (because he thought that would scare her) or when he admits to her that he wears silk boxers ([[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking because she asked and he's a vain puppy]]). In a con panel, when she's forced him to “[[DoubleEntendre build a snowman]]” with her (to clarify he even asked her would any answer make her leave him alone and she said no), he gives her a hug and skips off with her, and then runs back alone after pushing her off the balcony.
