* PluckyGirl: Usually the most upbeat of the three and willing to throw herself blindly into danger without a second thought, because that's just what heroes do.

to:

* YoungEntrepreneur: It was her idea to start a hero business, coming from her own adoration of them.

to:

\n* MouthyKid: While usually just a FirstPersonSmartass around authority figures, she's also perfectly willing to step up and speak her mind when they ''really'' deserve it.

Added DiffLines:

* LittleMissBadass: She isn't called "The Muscle" for nothing, doing most of the group's heavy-lifting and pulling some incredible feats of strength for a filly.

Added DiffLines:

* LittleMissSnarker: As stated above, she has quite the mouth on her for a child.

Added DiffLines:

* HeelFaceTurn: While not exactly a villain in the first place, she ''was'' a criminal who stole from others on a regular basis. Once the consequences of her actions come to light and she joins the Hero Club, she leaves that side of her (mostly) behind. She even assists in bringing down other criminals she used to be friends with.
* LittleMissConArtist: As befitting of her streetwise expertise, she is routinely able to con others when needed.

Daffodil's trio of butlers that serve her every need and (generally) those of her guests as well.

Added DiffLines:

Snake's ill mother, and the main motive for her string of petty thefts.

Added DiffLines:

A classmate of Snake and Boomer's. Has a special talent for getting ponies to open up to her, which is probably not mind control.

Added DiffLines:

Gusty and Snake's homeroom teacher. Lacks presence.

Added DiffLines:

* DestinationDefenestration: A rare hero-on-hero example when she [[spoiler:[[FastballSpecial throws an unwitting Snake]] through an open window to nail Nopony.]]

Added DiffLines:

Gusty's aunt and Boomer's mother. She is in charge of supervising the former's probation, a task she is more than equipped to handle.

----

* EtiquetteNazi: She makes it very clear upfront that she expects certain standards from her new houseguest, whether it be formal manners or fulfilling the terms of her probation to the letter.

Added DiffLines:

The school's highly strict security officer.

----

* RedHerring: [[spoiler: Despite the clues initially pointing to her, she is not Nopony. But she ''was'' trying to stop him.]]

Added DiffLines:

One of the gang's classmates and a hall monitor. Known for being a bit stuck-up about the rules.

----

* ChekhovsGunman: In the first chapter, Gusty witnesses a young colt being rescued from an accident by Snowmare. Two chapters later, it's revealed this colt was Nutshell, a student missing from school that day who they now need to get in touch with. And two chapters after ''that'', [[spoiler: he's revealed to be the son of Pepper and Wonderbread, and the impetus for the latter to become Nopony.]]
* RulesLawyer: Has a bit of a reputation surrounding him because of this.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Doesn't get so much as a speaking role for the entirety of the first arc, and yet [[spoiler: he is the reason Nopony acted as he did.]]

Added DiffLines:

A local hero in Coltsburg, one of many that protect that city from equally-silly villains.

----

* AnIcePerson: Her "superpower" seems to be control over ice.
* TotallyRadical: Her primary way of speaking.

Added DiffLines:

A storm-themed villain with a voice as loud and boisterous as thunder itself.

----

* IncomingHam: Annoucnes his intention to rob a bank by blowing open a wall and shouting, "EVERYPONY ON THE GROUND! NOW!" This would be pretty standard for a bank robbery if he didn't ''always'' talk like that.
* NoIndoorVoice: He spends his entire speaking role using all caps.

Added DiffLines:

A partner of Dr. Maelstrom who uses hypnosis to commit crimes.

----

* NotSoHarmlessVillain: Despite being just as goofy as most of Coltsburg's heroes and villains, he is able to effortlessly knock Gusty out with his hypnosis.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Pleads his innocence in the Nopony case, but also takes the first opportunity to book it once the gang is sufficiently distracted.

Added DiffLines:

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Her opening monologue establishes that she is frightened of new situations, has a history of violence, and is harboring some big secret.

Added DiffLines:

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: When Boomer first comes in, she immediately snarks on Gusty's appearance, but shows her reasonable side by being understandably concerned about a convicted criminal coming to stay with them.

Added DiffLines:

The team rogue and an old friend of Boomer's. First endears herself to Gusty by stealing from her and this surprisingly leads to them forming a close friendship themselves.

----

* BecauseImGoodAtIt: Snake steals from other ponies partially to support her sick mother and partially because it's the only talent she can really use to make money.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Snake Eyes introduces herself to Gusty by attempting to ''rob her'' and [[JustJokingJustification passing it off as a joke]], quickly establishing her thieving skills, playful attitude, and general lack of tact.
* UnfortunateNames: Her real name is [[spoiler: Cookie Cream]]. It's a source of great embarrassment for her.

[[caption-width-right:350:Chemist and Alchemist]]

Gusty's cousin and Daffodil's daughter. While she initially has some trust issues with their new guest, Boomer ultimately becomes Gusty's first real friend in Coltsburg. Specializes in snark and blowing things up.

----

* DeadpanSnarker: She has some kind of quip to drop for any given situation, especially in regards to Gusty.
* EurekaMoment: Has one when she realizes that [[spoiler: Snake's blackmail letter]] uses her real name, which only a small list of ponies know. This becomes their main clue going into the case.
* FirstPersonSmartass: Relatively polite on the outside; a ''ruthless'' snarker on the inside.
* MadBomber: A child version of one. Both her room and her school bag are constantly filled with explosive mixtures and she gets more than a little enjoyment out of any opportunity to use them.

Muscle]]

to:

\n\n* [[AscendedFanboy Ascended Fangirl]]: Goes from admiring the old heroes to starting her own club to emulate them. Albeit, she is far from their level at the outset.
* AfraidOfTheirOwnStrength: Very. And given that she once crippled a stallion in a fit of possessive rage, she has every right to be.
* BlindedByRage: Is implied to be a frequent problem with Gusty, and the reason she ended up on probation in the first place. During one such instance, she was so enraged that she broke all four of a stallion's legs over the Book of Heroes.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Gusty suffers from this despite not having many actual heroics to her name yet. The Book of Heroes is a big inspiration for this attitude.
* DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife: She aspires to be somepony like those she looks up to in the Book of Heroes. Beginning the story as a juvenile delinquent, she has some difficulties trying to find a purpose that matches those ideals.
* GlassCannon: She is very strong, [[UnstoppableRage especially when angered]], but not very durable and has a tendency of injuring herself if she hits with too much force.
* GrievousHarmWithABody: Once Gusty gets mad enough at Nopony, she throws the closest thing on-hoof directly at them. [[spoiler: This just so happens to be Snake Eyes.]]
* UnstoppableRage: When Gusty gets angry enough, she goes completely insane with rage and single-mindedly pursues the target of her anger, regardless of who or what is in her way.

The titular club and the many others lucky (or *un*lucky) enough to associate with it.

[[caption-width-right:350:The Hero]]

The main character and chief founder of the Hero Club. Obsessed with the heroes of old to the point of getting in serious trouble with the law over it, Gusty now attempts to follow in their hoofsteps while also staying within the bounds of her probation. This is easier said than done.

----

* AffablyEvil: Their blackmail letters are ''exceedingly'' polite, sympathizing with the victims even while demanding monetary payment from them. They even wish Gusty a speedy recovery and choose not to demand bits from her despite having the leverage to do so, only asking for her silence instead.

* ArcVillain: Of the first arc.
* {{Blackmail}}: Nopony's MO. Them doing this to Snake Eyes sets off the main plot.
* TheFaceless: Wears a low-brim hat, black balaclava, and sunglasses to completely hide their face. Gusty can't even tell what ''gender'' they are.
* HiddenVillain: Uncovering their identity becomes the main focus for the trio after finding the first blackmail letter.
