%%* FiveTokenBand: Despite Starlight's efforts to diversify the Seven in season 3, the team was never un-diverse. Of course this is also deconstructed because each character member was chosen to fulfil an archetypal heroic role in the team regardless if they truly qualify or believe in those values.
%%** there is the WhiteMaleLead, Homelander. Aryan-looking, handsome, charismatic, noble and a proud patriotic Christian leading a diverse team, right? Yeah, he a complete sociopathic monster who only plays this role because he dependent on being adored like oxygen.
%%** Maeve was for a long time the only ActionGirl in the team. She is also a bisexual woman forced to be in a fake relationship with Homelander for PR reasons while hating any second of it.

* MeaningfulName: Queen Maeve is a powerful fairy queen in [[Myth/CelticMythology Irish mythology]] who often acts as an antagonist against some of that mythology's most powerful male heroes (particularly Cu Chulainn in ''The Cattle Raid of Cooley''). One of the Vought marketing guys also refers to her as "the Empress of the Otherworld" when he's pitching his concept for Maeve's public relationship with Elena in Season 2. In Irish mythology, the Otherworld is the fairies' homeland. It makes sense that Vought would play up a mythological angle for Queen Maeve's image, since she's their counterpart to Wonder Woman, who has a mythos steeped in Greek and Roman mythology.

* AdaptationalRelationshipOverhaul: In the comics, Drummer Boy and Starlight are actually still together at the start (or at least, that's what Starlight thinks), only to permanently split on bad terms after Starlight catches him having sex with a fellow member of the Young Americans. ** Hughie to Starlight: the NaiveNewcomer of their teams, both are more idealistic than their teammates until they had a massive reality check involving one of the Seven (A-Train reducing Hughie's first girlfriend to LudicrousGibs, The Deep pulling a CastingCouch on Starlight).
