* BadPowersGoodPeople: Raziel taught him to "us[e] his powers in the opposite way of their intent" (i.e. using his powers of fear to take it away, using his powers of madness to create peace, using his powers of darkness to create light, etc). It worked.

* MadeOfEvil: Literally -- [[spoiler: he's Raziel's evil tendencies (his rage, his madness, his murderous urges)]] made flesh. Raz would have destroyed the exorcised energies, but, as he explains, "You cannot simply eviscerate energy." As it was, he tried to teach him to use his powers for good. (It worked...for a time.)

* TreacherousAdvisor: Acts as one to Gabriel.

* ObscatingStupidity: Downplayed; he uses a childish, sometimes idiotic sense of humor and an air of cluelessness to mask his deadly cunning and intelligence.

* TheUnfavorite: Their father never made any attempt to hide the fact that Raphael was his favorite son (and in fact told Asmo ''to his face'' that he was created for nothing more than looking after Raphael). This caused Asdmodeus to grow up bitter and angry -- and plays a ''major'' part in his behavior as an adult.

De’rgro’smn is a Dekn who poses as a human serial killer in .Reality. He uses high-grade hallucinogens to create terror in his victims. One of his most commonly used hallucinogens causes people to see him as a gigantic, spider-like humanoid with [[TheBlank no facial features]] and a tall, slender build (which earned him his nickname, the Slender Man Killer). It is strongly hinted through various dialogues that the Hooks Killer has worked with Alexander Tamil or assisted him with his killings.

The Former Dekn of Hatred and Solitude, Arix defected after disobeying orders from the Dekn Emperor. On the run, he made his home on Earth among settlers in 18th century New England, where he later met (and had a long-term relationship with) Raziel.

The Dekn Queen of Love and Hatred, and former Arkn Queen and High Priestess of Heart and Salvation, Kry'toha was the life partner of King Gilgamesh, hand-picked to produce a child with him. Her unhappiness in their union cause her to seek affection elsewhere, and eventually lead to her being seduced by The Carver multiple times. She fell deeply in love with him, eventually defecting to the Dekn. Their union produced a race of powerful Arkn-Dekn hybrids known as the Storn.

* BetrayalByOffspring: She was unhappy with her daughter Jezzebellus (her final child with The Carver and the first pure-blood Dekn) had been awarded the position of Princess of the Infernous. When she tried to confront Hash'bor about it, she discovered that he'd had Asmodeus spread lies about her to Jezzebellus, turning her own daughter against her. Jezzebellus ordered The Carver to cast into the deepest pit in the Infernous (where, presumably, she remained for the rest of time).
* BiTheWay: She is canonically bisexual, and has sought out intimate unions with both males and females.

The Dekn Lord of Power, Superiority, Rule, Insanity (or Madness), Fear, and Darkness (and former Arkn Lord of the same), Azazel is the [[spoiler: physical embodiment of Raziel's dark side]]. He is the former apprentice of Raziel and the father of Elias Exodus. He was created in a complex magick ritual, during which Raziel [[spoiler: exorcised his murderous, bloodthirsty tendencies]] over the course of several years. From his creation, he was taught to live peacefully and use his powers for their opposite intent. However, his natural dark tendencies eventually surfaced, and he led the Watchers in rebellion, influencing them to mate with human women. For his part in the affair, Azazel was sentenced to be sealed within a crevice in the wastelands. He escaped, however, and defected to the Dekn -- making it his goal to find [[spoiler:(and merge with)]] Raziel.

* DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale: While Gilgamesh is setting up the procreation ritual (a process that, while not physical itself, is clearly analogous to intercourse), Kry'atha begins to initiate the union without his consent. Gil responds by backhanding her across the room and screaming at her. Readers completely ignored Kry'atha's actions, however, and focused on Gil hitting Kry'atha, calling him a "wife beater".

* PutOnABus: She was last seen being tossed into the deepest pit in the Infernous -- where she likely remained until the end of the universe.
* StarCrossedLovers: With Hash'bor'kanibal. [[spoiler: It didn't end well.]]

* YourCheatingHeart: While she and Gilgamesh weren't (officially) married, her relationships with Jos'sephine (the daughter of Raziel) and Hash'bor'kanibal are treated as extramarital affairs.

** [[spoiler: Subverted as of now. It's looking like he's [[AscendedExtra got a bigger role this time around in Universe X,]] ''especially'' considering his interest in teaching Franz Faust..]]

* HeelRealization: Arix and his sister were ordered by the Carver to creating discord that would lead to a fire that would destroy the family -- all to prevent the birth of a child (whose ancestor would be "an abomination of all races in existence"). After overhearing his sister having sex with the family patriarch, and discovering that the child in question had already been born, Arix realized that he was destroying innocent lives, and was overcome with remorse. The baby [[CutenessProximity reaching out its arms to him and giggling with joy]] (while Arix was in his Dekn form, no less) sealed the deal.

* MinorMajorCharacter: Arix is a seemingly minor supporting character, and his five-year relationship with Raziel seems a mere blip in Raziel's ''very'' long life (especially in comparison to his far more intense marriages to Hazel and Phoenix. However, Arix was instrumental in breaking Raziel of his FantasticRacism and superiority complex, helping him become the altruistic Arkn we later meet. (without which, among other things, his relationship with Phoenix would have been impossible), and Raziel considers the day he met him to be one of the formative events in his life. [[spoiler: He was also responsible for saving the life of the child whose family line would one day birth Gabriel Holden.]]

* SiblingTeam: Used to be part of one with his sister Reyn (the Dekn of Temptation). The pair often visited earth to instigate war and terror. Their partnership ended when Arix disobeyed orders from the Carver, saving the human infant he'd been ordered to eliminate [[spoiler: -- and tried to burn Reyn alive as he made his escape]].

* AlasPoorVillain: His torment in the Infernous (during TKS) isn’t easy to watch. He’s tortured by a vision of a corrupted, [[OneWingedAngel powered-up]] version of Knight, who (in [[TheDogBitesBack a reversal]] of what he endured during his imprisonment) [[CurbStompBattle kicks Carver's ass with zero effort]] in the most agonizing manner possible. As if that weren't bad enough, he then suffers a similarly brutal beating from the ''real'' Knight for his refusal to cooperate -- and dies a slow, agonizing death. All because of circumstances he didn’t predict (i.e. becoming bound to Luke’s human form).
** This is somewhat mitigated if you believe (as some do) that [[spoiler: [[AlternateCharacterInterpretation Carver deliberately allowed his death to happen in order to pass his powers to Knight and further corrupt him]]]].

* BiTheWay: He has canonically bedded both make and female Arkn.

* ColdBloodedTorture: There's a ''very good'' reason why he's the Dekn Lord of Pain And Torment.

* DeadlyUpgrade: In exchange for fighting Malek, Cedric, and Theater Mask, Deebo grants Hash'bor the power of a full-blown Hethe (on top of the Hethian power he already possesses). Carver is able to channel the Hethian blood into .Mainframe (the framework for the new Universe) and power up the Hethian Scrolls of Creation before he's consumed by the power flow and destroyed.

* NiceGuy: Legend tells that he encountered one of Malek's fragments immediately after its separation and helped nurse it back to health. (Though Redgrave admits that there's no way of verifying this, he

He is known for being the architect of the Nexiumandris, as well as Humanity's Infernous. An occasional partner to the Carver (during his reign as emperor), he helped run the Infernous in the Carver's absence (even stepping in to torment prisoners on occasion). He was a temporary (artificial) Guardian to Michael Knight, emerging after Michael began taking his pills.

* GladIThoughtOfIt: His chapter of ''Arknthology Stories'' reveals that .Reality was actually the brainchild of Malek and the Carver; when Malek dropped out of the project, Redgrave (being Carver's second-in-command) simply took charge -- and was all too happy to take credit for the work when it was over (despite it being a team effort).

* SharpDressedMan: You'd expect anything less?
* {{Trickster}}: He grew up on Earth, where he learned "vesseling, possession (as well as how to cheat, steal, rule and play checkers". He puts all his skills to good use in his role as "Jacques Satan".

* TheChessmaster: How else would you describe someone who successfully [[spoiler: executed an ultra-complex, eons-long plan to trick GOD]]?[[note]]Carver created the false prophecy of the Arknza, sired the children to fulfill it, set himself up as [[UltimateEvil its]] [[BigBad villain]], arranged for each of the Arknza to war against him, and ensured that Ellpagg acquired the powers of a god so that could defeat him in battle -- all so that Deebo would raise him from the dead and make him a Hethe, giving him the power to use the Scrolls of [[/note]]

The first mortal beings created by the Hethe, the Dekn are a proud race of [[OurDemonsAreDifferent demon-like]] beings who possess PsychicPowers. They are the progenitors and the arch-rivals of the Arkn. Until recently, they made their home in the Umdevarium, a city made of black gold.

* ArcSymbol: The universal [[http://thearknmythos.wikia.com/wiki/File:DEKNTOMES_SYMBOL.RED.transparent.png symbol]] of the Dekn is, (unsurprisingly) very similar to that of the Arkn, resembling a horned stick figure composed of alchemical symbols. Redgrave has it tattooed on his face, and it often appears as a "signature" in Dekn communiques.

* DarkIsNotEvil: While you couldn't call the majority of them ''good'', they generally aren't the monsters the Arkn (and humans, by extension) have made them out to be.

** First, he becomes bound to Luke Anton's body, gets shot by Azrael, and gets sent to the Infernous -- where he does of the injuries he acquired in his fight with Ellpagg. He somehow re-materializes offscreen in time to meet Michael Knight in "Decision".
** During the [[FinalBattle Battle of the Arknza]], he is fatally wounded by Ellpagg -- and gets resurrected by Deebo (who was angered at [[spoiler: losing his body suit/avatar]].)

Emperor of the Dekn and Dekn Lord of Humanity and Reality, Redgrave is known for being the architect of the Nexiumandris (as well as Humanity's Infernous). An occasional partner to the Carver, he sometimes helped run the Infernous in the Carver's absence (even stepping in to torment prisoners on at least one occasion). He was a temporary (artificial) Guardian to Michael Knight, emerging after Michael began taking his pills.

The Dekn Lord (and "Archdekn") of Mind, Madness and Possession, and former Arkn Lord of Death, he defected and became a Dekn Lord, and went on to help create .Reality (along with Redgrave, Vine, and Clubs). He temporarily becomes Michael Knight's Guardian after the departure of Ellpagg, attempting to attach himself to his vessel Arknangel-style.

* BackStab: He kills an unsuspecting [[spoiler: Azrael]] with one (before he has the chance to kill his fellow Persopheleum, Redgrave.)

The Emperor of the Dekn, Prince of the Infernous, and Storn of Rule and Manipulation. Clubs is the fourth child of The Carver and Kry'toha, known in legend as "the Unnamed Storn". As an adult, he helped supervise the creation of .Reality. After the "fall" of The Carver (following his first "death"), he became the owner of the Infernous, as well as Emperor of the Dekn (due to Azazel turning down the title). Despite being a part of the Persophelium renegade, he no longer wears the title of Persopheleum because he thinks it is "lame". He aided his father in the Battle of the Arknza, and was eventually killed by him (in preparation for fighting Ellpagg).

* EvilPrince: Prior to becoming Emperor of the Dekn, his official title (other than Persophelus) was [[spoiler: Prince of the Infernous]].

** As it turns out, many of these couplings had a greater purpose: [[spoiler: the Carver needed to pass on Deebo’s Hethian blood to at least seven Arkn in order ensure that the prophecy of the Arknza could come to fruition. (Granted, Arkn procreation occurs through magical means rather than physical, but he still needed to form potent physical relationships with his partners to ensure that the procreation rituals would be successful. (And in the case of Kryatha, he needed to be close enough to transfer some of his Hethian power to her undetected so that she would pass it on to Josephine).]]
* {{Satan}}: He's heavily implied to be one of the beings who inspired the figure known as Satan in the Abrahamic religions: he's a former high-ranking celestial being who [[FallenAngel fell from grace]], occasionally takes the form of a BigRedDevil, has gone by the name Lucifer (as the human Lucifer "Luke" Anton), and [[WordOfDante ruled]] [[{{Hell}} a dimension of darkness, fire and torment that serves as a "afterlife"]]. Formerly a soldier in the Dekn army, Arix defected after disobeying orders while on a special mission to assassinate a human infant. He made his home on Earth among settlers in 18th century America, where he later met (and had a long-term relationship with) Raziel.

A guild of four powerful Dekn Lords who control .Reality and Time. Displeased with the Arkn threat on humans, they set themselves apart from the Dekn and the War and created the Nexiumadris (a.k.a. .Reality): a virtual duplicate of Humanity's original home in which humans can live and thrive. The Persopheleums regard themselves as a separate power: the saviors of humankind, and the one ''true'' good side.

* DistinctionWithoutADifference: According to Crow, they see themselves as a distinct faction, separate not only from the Arkn (who are selfish and sadistic) but the other Dekn (who are [[JerkAss jerkasses]]). Aside from being the creators of .Reality and saviors of humanity, however, there doesn't seem to be much to differentiate them from the rest of the Deknkind; they collaborated with the Emperor of the Dekn (the Carver) to get the .Reality project off the ground, and their actions can be just as selfish and brutal as those they decry.
* GoodIsNotNice: They're the only faction that truly has humanity's best interests at heart. However, they're also the faction that operates the Infernous -- and takes charge of tormenting and torturing humans (along with Arkn and Dekn) within it. And at least one of them (Crow) believes Humanity should ''bow down'' to them as "the one ''real'' good side".

Aside from torturing Ellpagg (and ''possibly'' a few other prisoners in the Infernous), he hasn't done anything truly malicious
** During the FinalBattle, it's revealed that [[spoiler: he secretly loaned his dimension-building skills to Hash'bor'kanibal to help him craft a new, Deebo-free universe -- making Redgrave one of the true heroes of the story]].

* CoolShades: When inhabiting a human vessel, he wears them in public to hide his inhuman eyes.
* EvilWearsBlack: He always dresses in a black tee and jeans.
