* {{Retgone}}: It's confirmed by the director of ''Dark Fate'' that Kyle doesn't exist in the new timeline created by John and Sarah. It's implied that the Judgement Day caused by Skynet is responsible for getting his parents together, so without it, he simply doesn't exist. In a way, John and Sarah have to sacrifice him to kill Skynet.

* ScullySyndrome: Downplayed example. He personally sees the T-1000 attacking the Connors and the T-800 in ''Terminator 2'' (a moment in which, in short order, the T-1000 goes through a barred door, is shot point-blank in the face with a shotgun and doesn't drops dead, and turns its hands into massive crowbars to pry an elevator door open), and by the time he reappears in ''Rise of the Machines'' to have a talk with Kate, he tries to dismiss that as a form of hallucination (even if he gets a ThousandYardStare when he recalls it), and implies had to see other psychiatrists to help him get over it. He also runs ''the hell'' away from being with her when he sees the T-850.

* LackOfEmpathy: The way he interacts with his patients (most notably, both Sarah and Kyle) has him behaving like a smug rather than having genuine concern for them. Even his interaction with Kate from ''Rise of the Machines'' felt less-than-sincere on his own end (further proven when he ran away immediately after seeing the T-850 on the scene rather than staying right beside her).

* FatalFlaw: {{Pride}}, much more so while he's doing his job as a criminal psychologist, which what led to his HumiliationConga in ''Judgement Day''.

* JerkAssHasAPoint: Dr. Silberman while being incredibly mean spirited to both Kyle and Sarah brings up a very good point, there is no direct evidence that the Terminator is anything more than a man and more importantly that Reese isn't just making it up. The Terminator from any angle looks like a normal human, and there isn't any witnesses that can attest to its appearance. While the rules of time travel are laid bare and is in fact real, it is also very inconvenient with it leaving little to no trace of the fact that the Terminator and Kyle come from the future.
