** Yuri tends to slide into this at times in a minor way, due to being [[{{Tsundere}} not very honest about his feelings]]. For example, he can and will tease Karol about his LovableCoward status but if ''anyone else'' does the same Yuri is the first one to defend him. Of course, Yuri's teasing is not flat out mocking and cruel like said people...he just [[TheGadfly likes]] making Karol jump.
** Despite being a vigilante, he advises Flynn against it because it would ruin his career and his goal of reforming the empire's laws.
* HypocrisyNod: He's ''aware'' that his vigilantism is rather hypocritical when he's called out on it by Flynn. However, he does it anyway because [[NecessaryEvil nobody else will]].

* CatSmile: Almost constantly has this expression on, since she enjoys teasing people.

* BrilliantButLazy: Viewed as this by a few people, mostly those who want him to rejoin the knights. Considering he's a ''very'' talented fighter with a knack for leading people and yet starts off the game as rather unmotivated and mostly causing trouble in the Lower Quarter, they have a point. He has no real desire to learn or use magic due to the time needed to study it, but when offered the chance to learn a new arte that wasn't magic via a training manual, he happily did so. It's often pointed out that Yuri is an ideal knight for this reason; he just doesn't have the care or desire to stay with them.

* MrFanservice: Not only a TallDarkAndHandsome NiceGuy with ChronicHeroSyndrome, can fight, can [[SupremeChef cook]] (with love even), loves animals, and even shows some skin in the UsefulNotes/{{PS3}} version's Mitsurugi costume. His normal and swimsuit costumes showing a peek at his chest are certainly appreciated by us fangirls. He also looks great in a tank top. [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]] by Kowz, who nicknames him "Pheromone Boy".

* ColonelBadass: Especially in the UsefulNotes/{{PS3}} version where he is promoted into a proper party member. Although he's not quite a colonel -- he goes from Lieutenant to Captain to [[spoiler:[[FourStarBadass Commandant]]]] over the course of the game.

A new character for the Playstation 3 UpdatedRerelease and ''Definitive Edition''. Was originally planned to be in the UsefulNotes/Xbox360 version, but was scrapped. Patty is a little girl with dreams of sailing the seas and currently on a quest to find the "Maris Stella," a legendary treasure of the Great Pirate Aifread. She talks like an old lady and claims to be the granddaughter of Aifread, though she doesn't know for sure due to having amnesia.

* CatSmile: In some promotional artwork, but not usually in-game.

* AncestralWeapon: Her InfiniteMinusOneSword, Brionac, belonged to her father, explaining the [[GuideDangIt incredibly long and easily missed]] quest to reclaim it.

* [[AnimalsHateHim Animals Hate Her]]: Inverted. Repede takes a liking to her the moment they meet, much to Estelle's annoyance.

* AmbiguousDisorder: The game very clearly states that Judith suffers from something relating to her past. To a certain extent it comes across as some level of sociopathy or PTSD. She has trouble explaining herself at times, loves combat to an unusual degree, and mentions she couldn't connect any more to her fellow Krityan's after the Great War.

*** Karol uses either [[{{BFG}} swords as big or bigger than he his]], [[CarryABigStick hammers]] and axes. Again, all the weapons are bigger than he his.

* PickyEater: Including the [=PS3=] exclusive recipes, Repede dislikes ''eighteen'' out of the 42 recipes you can get. That puts him as the one with the highest amount of recipes he dislikes of the team. This comes from the fact he dislikes ''every'' recipe that contains onions, along with sharing the dislike for desserts with Raven.
** This is {{justified|Trope}}, because Repede is a ''dog'' and [[CruelAndUnusualDeath onions kill dogs.]] [[https://drsophiayin.com/blog/entry/onions_the_secret_killer/ Horribly.]] While sugar can cause severe digestive problems in dogs if not also being fatal.

** Yuri also shares the VideoGame/TalesSeries's first dual Mystic Arte with Flynn when both can enter Over Limit 4 at the same time: Twin Wave, in which they trap the enemy with an enhanced version of their Guardian Field artes, strike them through, and finish them off with a massively powerful beam attack.

* ACupAngst: Played with; while she's not flat by any means (she's in the middle in the BoobsOfSteel scale by being a both a strike and magic arte user, not to mention between [[PetitePride Rita]] and Judith), she has the most problems with Judith's proportions, leading to this quote...

* BoobsOfSteel: The biggest bust among the girls of the party and the highest physical strength of them.

* MsFanservice: She's got [[BoobsOfSteel nice]] [[HartmanHips curves]], [[ShowSomeLeg really nice legs]] (and tendencies to [[KickChick use them]]) plus an exposed midriff. And there's the fact she loves teasing/flirting with Yuri, Raven, and just about everyone who's interested (see {{The Tease}} below).

* PeekABangs: [[spoiler: As Captain Schwann]].

* KnowNothingKnowItAll: Zigzagged. Due to his horrendous resume at getting fired from many guilds, he indirectly gained a vast wealth of knowledge. However, he is quite not as smart as he lets on, such as when he doesn't exactly know why hitting enemies with his bag proves to be very effective, or exactly what kind of person Don Whitehorse is (Karol can only he's the coolest of the coolest because he's the head of the guilds but doesn't elaborate why). He usually tries to wing it when he wishes to be looked up by other people (something he eventually grows out of).

* ToxicFriendInfluence: In-universe, Sodia considers Yuri to be nothing but trouble to Flynn, due to [[VigilanteMan his actions]] making more work for them. She also believes his association with Flynn could tarnish his reputation. A point which Yuri [[JerkassHasAPoint doesn't entirely disagree with]], mostly in regards to the "associating with Flynn" part. [[spoiler: This culminates in Sodia [[MurderTheHypotenuse trying to get rid of him]], atop Zuade.]] However, Flynn makes it clear that Yuri is not [[AvertedTrope and never will be]] a burden to him.
