!Centrocor
One of the bigger multi-planetary commercial/development monopolies and the first introduced in the story.

* CatchPhrase: “We’re all in this together.”
* CorporateWarfare: Is one of the leaders in this.
* InUniverseNickname: “Big Hexagon” or “Big Hex”.
* MegaCorp
* NGOSuperpower: One of the four biggest introduced in the story.
* OneNationUnderContract: They have entire worlds at their disposal.
* SigilSpam: A simple hexagon.

* CatchPhrase: Like a good corporate executive, she regularly uses their catchphrase: “We’re all in this together.”
* BiTheWay: She’s had a string of male and female lovers, usually for entertainment or for manipulation.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive
* TheCorrupter: Shows up Auster Maggs in this department, being able to successfully win over many of Lanoe's crew and an engineer.
* DistaffCounterpart: Can come off as this to Maggs.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: She is pretty shaken up at having to kill someone with her own hands and is appalled by Shulkin's ease with sacrificing people.
* EveryManHasHisPrice: A firm believer of this trope.
* HandicappedBadass: She won’t let her condition get in the way of her career or business.
* HidingTheHandicap
* IgnoreTheDisability: She claims that it doesn’t affect her most of the time.
* ShownTheirWork: Type IV (Vascular) Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, aka EDS, is a real rare medical condition.
** For explanation, it’s an inherited connective tissue disorder that makes your joints bend farther than they should, have extremely stretchy and fragile skin, and and weakens blood vessels and makes your organs more likely to tear. All symptoms that Bullam describes as having.
* ManipulativeBastard

The director of Centrocor.

* AffablyEvil: He's a CorruptCorporateExecutive for sure, with all of his company's and employee's actions as proof, but he's also a ReasonableAuthorityFigure who gives Bullam a second chance despite royally screwing up in his eyes.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive
* BigFancyHouse: Owns one on top of The Mountain on Irkalla.
* Greed
* InfiniteSupplies: He's in charge of the company that built The Hexus. He's able to give Bullam an illegally acquired former Navy carrier and two destroyers to help her out in her mission. The cost of the first one is an amount of money even Cygnet and Bullam can't seem to sum up but illustrate that it was astronomical, taking about a decade and a half to complete.
* MeanBoss: While he does give Bullam a second chance, he doesn't do it until after he embarasses her in front of a group of Centrocor employees, and he reveals that was just for the entertainment of a Sector Warden's son.
* PrecisionFStrike: Delivers one in Forgotten Worlds to Bullam.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Despite Bullam's failure to capture Lanoe, he gives her a second chance.
--> Cygnet: Don't be fucking stupid. If I fired everyone who ever made a mistake, I wouldn't have any employees left.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney: It is highly illegal to refurbish Navy equipment, let alone an entire Navy carrier, but Cygnet doesn't care about that and he doesn't care that it took 16 long years and money ranging in the billions, he wanted a carrier.

The son of a Sector Warden.

* EvilRedhead: He’s very uncaring of the fact that he could cost Ashlay Bullam her position and job, something she’s spent a life time trying to achieve.

A former Captain in the Navy, who was discharged for medical reasons.

* AttemptedSuicide: He tried to kill him and his entire crew by flying into the sun at some point before he's introduced.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: He has shades of this in "Forgotten Worlds", but he definitely reaches this in "Forbidden Suns".
* BloodKnight: The most notable example in the series. The only time he seems to come to life is when there's a battle to be fought.
* ColonelKilgore: To the point that he skirts the line of GeneralRipper territory.
* TheUnfettered: There is nothing he will let get in the way of him finding, capturing, and possibly killing Lanoe.
** Except, as Maggs takes advantage of, his UndyingLoyalty to the Navy.
* MentalHandicapMoralDeficiency: The Navy did something to him that pretty much made him a zombie unless he's fighting, but more than that, the procedure seemed to also create a sort of MoralDecay as he's just find with sacrificing troops in order to complete his mission (even though it's a simple capture mission).
* UndyingLoyalty: To the Navy. To the point that he violently turns on a bunch of mutineers (his fellow crewmen) who were sponsored by the people that hired him to hunt down Lanoe simply because Lanoe had captured the carrier and Lanoe was Navy.

* .
* CoordinatedClothes
* .
* IdenticalTwinIDTag: There's not much difference between them in their physical appearance, except for a slight change in hair.
* IdenticalTwinMistake: Happens to them more than once. Doesn't help that they look and act identically.
* SingleMindedTwins: Can come off this way because they say the same exact thing when talking.
* TagTeamTwins: In a space battle kind of way.
* TwinBanter: They both say the same exact sentence but sometimes one of them will use a different inflection.
* .

* .
* .
