--> ''You may think you couldn't be happier now, but believe me, this is only the beginning. It gets even better.''
* MultigenerationalHousehold: She lives with her children and her parents in the same large house that also serves as her store.
* ParentsAsPeople: Her events involve Angela mention how difficult it is to cook for everyone in her home due to her parents' age-related health or asking the farmer for their input on Cindy's future education.

----
* BattleButler: One of his events shows that he keeps the house he and Iori reside in ''very'' safe when the farmer accidentally gets knocked over by them. * TheSlacker: Cares for nothing but lying around and being lazy, much to his father's frustration. Victor got him the job on the ship as a favor, hoping the schedule would make him more serious. Jacopo instead more thinks that finding him a beautiful wife would do the job.

!! Player Character

[[folder: The Farmer]]

[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sospoot_protagonist.png]]

The player character of the game and grandchild of the one of the founders of Olive Town. They grew up hearing stories about their grandfather running a farm, leading to them dreaming of growing up and moving to Olive Town and take over the farm.\\
They're surprised to learn that the farm is in ruins and overgrown by forest. They're determined to breathe life back into their grandfather's farm and follow in his footsteps.
----
* CanonName: The male farmer is called Ollie and the female farmer is called Yuka.
* CharacterCustomization: Their appearance can be picked in the beginning, ranging from skintone to facial structure, eye- and hair-color, and even their general body stance. Once Jeanne opens her beauty salon, the player can change the appearance again in exchange for money.
* CoolBike: Averted. They use a rather basic scooter.
* PinballProtagonist: Some events have the farmer barely interact with the characters taking part or even simply observes what's going on, not even be acknowledged.
* ProtagonistWithoutAPast: Downplayed. They heard their grandfather talk about building up Olive Town and running a farm there since early childhood, installing a desire to take over the farm when growing up.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: Unlockable clothing is not gender-restricted, so even a player choosing to play as a male farmer can don skirts and dresses. The player can even go and make a very feminine-looking male farmer or masculine-looking female farmer.

[[/folder]]

!! Love Interests

[[folder: Blaire]]

[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sospoot_blaire.png]]

A cheerful part-time waitress at the Capeside Bistro.\\
She dreams of becoming a famous actress in the city.
----
* CastingCouch: A G-rated version gets mentioned. Blaire mentions that she's going to meet a producer that can talk to the judges of her next audition, leading to Misaki being very wary about the situation and insists on going along. It's pretty clear what Misaki is concerned Blaire could be dragged into.
* SmallTownBoredom: She considers Olive Town boring compared to the city she used to live in, another reason why she wants to go back as an actress. Should she be romanced, she chooses to remain with the farmer in town.
* WaitingForABreak: She auditions for many roles, hoping to become a movie star.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Bridget]]

[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sospoot_bridget.png]]

A kindhearted woman that works at her family's animal store.\\
Being the complete opposite of her brother, she does worry about his future sometimes.
----
* AnimalLover: She adores animals and cares deeply for them, forming a close bond with all the animals her family takes care of. She openly refers to them as her friends.
* SiblingYinYang: She's cheerful and friendly, openly displaying her love for animals, and can easily get flustered about things. Her brother Damon is more aloof and moody, and keeps up an attitude of indifference towards animals, though they do share their love for animals.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Damon]]

[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sospoot_damon.png]]

An aloof and reserved young man wandering the town.\\
As much as he plays up his tough biker outside, he's got a softer side deep down.
----
* AMFMCharacterization: His first heart event involves him changing the station at the café to something surprisingly upbeat for someone with his attitude.
* GRatedDrug: His caffeine addiction is used as a way to establish him as the rebellious and edgy bad boy in the overall family-friendly game.

* MustHaveCaffeine: He needs coffee throughout the day to keep going. And coffee is one of his loved gifts.
* RealMenTakeItBlack: Requests his coffee black from Sally.
* SiblingYinYang: He's aloof and not much of a talker, and while he likes animals a lot, he mostly displays an indifference to keep up his image. His sister Bridget is more open about her love for animals and cheerful.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Emilio]]

[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sospoot_emilio.png]]

A laid-back fisherman that's had the ocean as his backyard since childhood.\\
He cares a lot for his family, especially his surrogate brother, Raul.

* GayGroomInAWhiteTux: Should the farmer be male and marry Emilio, who wears a white tuxedo to his wedding.
* LatinoIsBrown: With his skintone being darker than most love interests and gratuitous use of Spanish, it's implied that Emilio's supposed to be Latino.
* ThroughHisStomach: His first heart event involves him giving up the last slice of the bistro's cheesecake to the farmer, so they can have a taste. Then he asks Misaki to put the cost on his tab, essentially buying the farmer food out of the blue.

A kindly and reliable young lord that has come to Olive Town from a faraway land.\\
He spends his days fishing, hoping to hone his skills.
----
* DevelopersDesiredDate: Romancing Iori is the only way to obtain [[spoiler:his would-be assassin]] as a temporary villager to interact with and befriend. No other romance route affects the game in such a way.
* ItsNotYouItsMyEnemies: His fifth heart event, and the last one to see before unlocking his romance route, involves him requesting the farmer to stay away from him because of the assassin after his life. Choosing to romance Iori defies this trope, obviously.
* OutOfGenreExperience: His romance route involves dealing with an assassin that's after him because of politicial reasons that Iori escaped from by moving to Olive Town, which feels very uncommon for a farming simulation game.
* UptownGirl: Discussed and defied during his confession event. He points out that he self-exiled and renounced any birthright from his homeland, so he doesn't consider his romance with the farmer as an interclass one.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Jack]]

[[quoteright:120:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sospoot_jack.png]]

A lackadaisical guy that helps out at his family's general store. Sometimes.\\
He actually thinks of ways to improve Olive Town while wandering around.
----
* TheGenericGuy: Compared to some of the other love interests, Jack doesn't stand out with any extreme, be it appearance or personality, and is overall a simple, nice guy that's just a tad too laidback.
* HiddenDepths: He loves Olive Town and wants it to grow and improve, just like the mayor and the farmer work on, but prefers to think of ways of doing it in his own way.
* UmpteenthCustomer: His third heart event has him greet the farmer as being the store's lucky 10,000th customer, and they get a snow globe as a prize. Cindy bursts the bubble by revealing he's done that to anyone lately, to get rid of snow globes that haven't been selling.

[[/folder]]
