* ShadowArchetype: Mr. Hankey could be one to Heidi Turner. They would then [[TookALevelInJerkass take a level in jerkass]], [[PlayingTheVictimCard play the victim card]] to justify their awful actions, and mistreat Kyle, resulting in Kyle giving up on them. However, Heidi would eventually hold herself accountable for her behavior, forgo playing the victim, improve her life, return to her circle of friends, and find [[HeelFaceTurn redemption]], while Mr. Hankey would [[NeverMyFault refuse to admit any fault of his own]], blaming his behavior on Ambien, and only worsening his predicament to the point that he was forced to leave town [[HeelFaceDoorSlam before he had a chance to atone for his behavior.]] As such, while Heidi is able to go back to being a NiceGirl that hasn't committed any misdeeds since her HeelFaceTurn, Mr. Hankey further embraces his newfound victimhood and becomes the [[spoiler: BigBad of'[[VideoGame/SouthParkSnowDay Snow Day!]]'', responsible for causing the blizzard killing thousands for revenge over being exiled]]. Basically, Mr. Hankey is the type of person Heidi could become if she never grew past being a victim: someone who causes needless suffering and death out of selfish and petty vengeance, exactly like Eric Cartman.

This is in contrast to Detective Yates and the rest of the South Park PD who are blatantly corrupt, obsessed with targeting minorities even if their alleged suspects are innocent, and often fail miserably at catching the real criminals.

* MixAndMatchCritter: As opposed to most depections in other shows. The script of "Are You There God? It's Me, Jesus" calls him a "hippo-rodent".

* AxCrazy: Though he doesn't exactly have a wide threshold of morality to begin with, he's this at his worst. In "The Pandemic Special", he leads the department in shooting down any kid he can find MoreDakka-style, and as if beating up minorities isn't enough. ''The Fractured But Whole'' shows him outright ''sacrificing'' a bunch of them to Shub-Niggurath as part of a cult.

* LawfulStupid: He isn't as stupid as Barbrady, but the way the laws work in South Park is incredibly stupid and he takes entrapment to a whole new degree.
