Despite the odds, Bark stays behind to first fend off Heavy Rider's attack, while Fang and Bean try to get the Marvelous Queen. * CharacterExaggeration: One aspect of Sonic's personality that is dialed up in the Classic era stories is his impatience and lust for adventure. While the character has typically been a hyperactive battle ready hedgehog, the classic stories are what make it the most evident. He's eager to investigate what's happening on Flicky Island that he takes off without consulting with Tails first, and while waiting for Tails to finish preparing a gadget that will help them track the Heavy Wing, he paces around and quickly gets bored (complete with a "bored" text effect appearing over him). When they do arrive on the Heavy Wing, he finds it incredibly dull, since no one is there to stop their assault on Heavy King's ship, as everyone is below deck fighting the Hooligans. A justified example, since this is a younger version of the title hero who hasn't matured to the same extent as his present day counterpart.
* DependingOnTheWriter: Sonic's characterization varies between "Seasons of Chaos" and "Sonic Learns to Drive". Sonic is similar to his IDW characterization when written by Creator/IanFlynn, as confident, if much more impatient, and has a bit of snark. In "Learns to drive", Sonic becomes a MotorMouth when written by the Creator/McElroyBrothers.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: In "Learns to Drive", Sonic is rather impulsive at driving and just speeding ahead without a care. Notably, he gets pretty impatient when he attempt to drive normally.

It comes to ahead a head when Bean tells Fang to just spill the beans about what they know in order to save their own hides, much to Fang's surprise.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Bean, the {{Cloudcuckoolander}} with a penchant for causing mischief, reaches the limit of his patience with Fang when they get captured by Eggman in issue #3 of ''Fang the Hunter'', telling begging him to just tell the doctor what they know in order to save their skins. The bomb-happy duck usually isn't the voice of reason, which Fang and Bean himself lampshade.

* LeaveHimToMe: Is actually on both ends of this trope in ''Fang the Hunter''. When the Hooligans first try escaping with [[spoiler:the Hard Boiled Heavies' Warp Topaz]], Heavy King orders all their forces to stop them, with the trio heavily outnumbered. Despite the odds, Bark stays behind to first fend off Heavy Rider's attack, while Fang and Bean try to get the Marvelous Queen. Heavy King then sends the other Heavies to go after Fang and Bean, staying behind to fight Bark himself.

* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: Despite the doctor implementing a patch to prevent Heavy King from taking over his Empire, the Hard-Boiled Heavies go off the grid in ''Fang the Hunter'' and steal Eggman's new phantom battleship for a joyride, cutting communications with him. Downplayed as they never really betrayed Eggman this time, and after they are foiled, immediately start obeying him, though Eggman isn't amused how they still disobeyed his orders.

Their punishment for their latest bout of rebellion has them stranded at sea with no hope of rescue.

* RewardedAsATraitorDeserves: What ends up being invoked on the group's in the Fang the Hunter miniseries. After going rogue on Eggman for the '''fifth time''' (including both their games and comic appearances...even if once was just to celebrate Eggman's birthday) to steal Eggman's airship for their Warp Topaz experiment, once the ship goes down to the sea, Heavy King is promptly told by Eggman that he and his crew were pretty much on their own - cutting ties with the quintet and leaving them to likely sink with the wrecked ship.

* TheStarscream: Eggman built him to become the chief commander to lead the robots into battle, but turned rogue. [[JustifiedTrope Justified]], [[VillainBall because Eggman]] programmed him to be deceitful and conquest-driven. After he is defeated, Eggman installed a software patch to make sure Heavy King doesn't rebel again. It doesn't last long, as the ''Fang the Hunter'' mini-series sees him commandeering the Heavy Wing as his own battleship, though without actively trying to oppose the Eggman Empire this time.

Unfortunately for the Heavies, their latest rebellious stint had Eggman fed up with their antics and end their role in the miniseries abandoned at sea.

Added DiffLines:

* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: During the Fang the Hunter miniseries, after dealing with the HBH going rogue again, Eggman leaves the robots stranded at sea in an airship taking in lots of seawater - with no hope of rescue. Considering they constantly betray or disobey him, it's one of the few cases where Eggman [[LaserGuidedKarma ditching his creations is rather understandable]].
