* DudeWheresMyRespect: At the start of ''Shrek The Third'', Charming has been reduced to a complete laughingstock following his mother's death, and the constant ridicule he faces pushes him into his villainous plot. He plots to take the throne by force [[spoiler:and kill Shrek in front of the whole kingdom to restore the dignity he's lost]], but Shrek still manages to belittle and humiliate him.
