* BullyTurnedBuddy: She becomes friends with Jet, Sean, Sydney, and Mindy towards the end of the film. She also starts being kinder towards her teammates Mitchell, Aurora, and Houston.
* CharacterDevelopment: She starts off the movie as a jealous, self-centered jerk who takes credit for others' ideas, shows no sense of teamwork, and picks on Mindy for being small. Later on, she learns the value of teamwork and compliments Mindy at one point. Overall, by the end of the movie, she is kinder and more civil with not only Jet, but also her teammates, Mitchell, Aurora, and Houston.
* CompetitionFreak: She believes that there's no point in doing anything unless she can be the best at it.

Their names even match, as they both relate to scientific concepts. However, Jet is selfless, humble, kind, and knows the value of working with others. Stella, on the other hand, is self-centered, envious, rude, and wants to do everything by herself. She reforms with the help of Jet and the others, though.
* {{Fangirl}}: Stella was the number one fan of the Great Galacto until Jet replaced her.
* {{Foil}}: To Zerk. Both are atypical Bortronian children, and both have a relationship to Jet in some way (Zerk is Jet's cousin, and Stella finds out about Jet when he becomes the number one Great Galacto fan). However, while Zerk displays FantasticRacism towards the Earthies at first, he grows to love Earth, and isn't intentionally rude. Stella doesn't display FantasticRacism towards Earth or Earthies, but she displays other forms of discrimination such as ageism and heightism. She is also intentionally rude towards others, though she grows out of it.
* HeelFaceTurn: Once Stella is rescued, she apologizes for how she acted, and from that point on, she is much nicer and a team player.
* {{Jerkass}}: She is very mean and condescending towards others, displays no team spirit, takes credit for other people's ideas, and insults Mindy because she's little.
* JerkassToOne: "Crueler to One" (or in this case, two) variety. She's not really nice to anyone, but she seems to have it out for Jet and Mindy in particular. Jet because he replaced her as the number one Great Galacto fan, and Mindy just because she's little.
* MeaningfulName: Her name, "Stella," means "star," and her last name, Singularity, refers to a region of space where the density of matter, or the curvature of spacetime, becomes infinite.
* MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch: Bortronians are established as being cheerful, friendly, and only competing for fun. Stella, on the other hand, is deadpan, rude, and is a CompetitionFreak.
* PinkIsFeminine: She wears a pink spacesuit, and is quite feminine. For one thing, her spacesuit has a skirt, which other Bortronian spacesuits lack. She also seems to wear faint lipstick and is shown filing her nails.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: 'Villain' is a stretch (despite what her voice actress claims), as she is only a {{Jerkass}}, but she is rather ageist and heightist towards Mindy, saying that she can't help because she's too little. She eventually stops doing it, though.
* PrimpOfContempt: Stella is seen filing her nails while asserting that she had nothing to do with the engine.
* SharePhrase: Stella says "excelsior" much like Jet does, which leads Sean, Sydney, and Mindy to suspect that something is up.
* StealingTheCredit: A recurring theme with Stella in the movie. She repeatedly takes credit for other people's work. For example, when Jet finds the Great Galacto's ship log, Stella acts like she's the one that found it.
