* BadDate: A frequent victim; it's a RunningGag with the poor guy. [[spoiler: He goes on dates based on how the girls are described, but frequently misunderstands the descriptions. Dates included [[ComicStrip/[[Peanuts}} Snoopy]], [[spoiler: [[Series/KamenRiderBlack, and [[ComicBook/VForVendetta V]], [[spoiler: all [[{{Butterface}} with female bodies]]]].

* ImplausibleDeniability: The alternative to her above BerserkButton or a reaction to it. She denies being anywhere near fat, not unlike [[ComicBook/Asterix Obelix]], and always has an excuse or reason, none of which ever help her case.

* Troll: Besides the above, she generally ribs on the rest of the neighborhood, one way or another, which never fails to annoy them.

Mao's openly homosexual son, Tiny's best friend, and owner of a beauty salon.

* ButchLesbian: Unlike most characters she's slim and fit.

* PunnyName: Take his title and surname and you'll have ''mandurugas'', Filipino word for "cheater". (Patrolman isn't a current Philippine police rank, at least not anymore, so it's the RuleOfFunny).

* {{Expy}}: Clearly that of [[ComicBook/Wolverine]], and in particular, the movie version, as Dado was introduced around the time between the first two movies. However, he also shares his transformation with the New Mutant, Wolfsbane

* YourDaysAreNumbered: Initially, because of his lycanthropy making his lifespan measured in dog years. A blood transfusion from Polgas apparently fixes this, also as payback for Dado granting Polgas a FullPotentialUpgrade.

* AssShove: Loves doing the prank version to Dagul. One instance even references [[Manga/Naruto Kakashi's Sennen Goroshi]] (though the Romanization is mispelled "Gorochi")

* FullPotentialUpgrade: During the ''Aso'' storyline, thanks to being bitten by his werewolf ally Dado. The result is that his senses, dulled because of his domestic lifestyle, are heightened to the levels of wild animals, represented by a more hirsute state. Like Dado, it's only a partial yet voluntary transformation and he retains his sense of self.

* DoubleConsciousness / SplitPersonality: [[spoiler: As it turns out, though she failed her OCB training , an alternate persona called Amrita was created, capable of utilizing all her training effortlessly, including reading English. None of these are accessible in her original Brosia personality, and she can switch between personalities via electrocution]].

** [[spoiler: Amrita, her alternate personality, is named after the Hindu nectar of immortality, the counterpart of the Greek Ambrosia, which Brosia is short for]].

** Unobtanium: Being from the future, OCB scientists could not determine the gun's alloy.

* IdenticalGrandson: His grandson, the Dobermaxx of 2078, though the latter sports more pronounced fangs. Polgas himself is a PlayedForDrama example, as his sire was a mongrel who he resembles exactly. This was the reason he and his siblings were forcibly separated from their mother.

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Besides the general ArtEvolution of the strip (he used to have whiskers), he originally couldn't talk and acted like a normal dog, though he still wore dog-sized clothes. He just started talking at random, and displayed more human-like behavior as the strip progressed. Later explained as a mutation via the combination of TV radiation and Dagul's homemade [[CordonBleughChef exotic pizza]].

* FunnyAnimal: Most of the Pugad Baboy residents are somewhat used to this, though outsiders are more surprised.

* AuthorAvatar: Together with Mang Dagul, but at times more directly (showing him at a cartoonist's desk, etc.)

It is enough to finally buy him an empty lot to transfer the hut to and a pickup truck of his own, and Tomas for more additions to his own gun collection...but nothing else.

A stereotype of the traditional corrupt Filipino politician. [[ComicBookTime Perpetually a senator]] regardless of the current Philippine President and Senate line-up. Lives in an uptown part of the neighborhood.

* CorruptPolitician: PlayedForLaughs, as Senator Cabalfin is shown as inept at anything except self-enrichment.
* DirtyOldMan: Sometimes.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He only cares about what's best for him.
* ManChild: When not leeching off public funds for self-gain, he's occasionally seen playing video games (and is actually very up-to-date with them).
* MeaningfulName: "Usurpo" sounds negative because it's close to "usurper" (though [[NonindicativeName he's always legally elected.]]) In contrast, Cabalfin is a real surname.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney: Implied several times.
* ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem: Unlike the above, he shows this frequently (PlayedForLaughs of course).
* [[StrawCharacter Strawman Political]]: Senator Cabalfin is the embodiment of what the author sees as everything wrong with the Philippine government.
* UpperClassTwit: His whole characterization.

Senator Cabalfin's wife, likewise a stereotype, this time of politician's wives.

* ShirtlessScene: While in werewolf form. Also highlights his invulnerability

* LamarckWasRight: Has a son who has at least inherited his heightened senses, inhuman durability, and ability to communicate with dogs. However, it's implied the son is unaware of his father's lycanthropy.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: Not often do you hear the source of one's lycanthropy being their mother's maternal cravings for dog meat. His transformations are also voluntary and does not lose his sense of self while in werewolf form, which is less of a bipedal dog and more of a lankier [[ComicBook/Wolverine Wolverine]] with claws and fangs. He is also generally more durable than normal, and his heightened senses are active even when not in werewolf form. He can also communicate with dogs, Polgas aside.

* LazyBum: Much to his mother's disappointment. Whenever he does try to get a job, he often gets fired on his first day.

* Can'tTakeCriticism: Ironic, since she always asks, sometimes demands, for Dagul's honest opinions on the clothes she tries out. The result is usually Dagul being kicked out of the house for the night, either having to camp in the yard in a tent, or crash at their neighbors', usually Tata Mads's place.

* Being a chef, he takes offense to whenever people take offense to his meals and procedure. For the latter, in particular, when someone questions his CordonBleughChef tendencies.

* CordonBleughChef: He likes to put his own... "unique" spin on Filipino cuisine.
