* ButtMonkey: Things go hilariously bad for Wapol with humiliation after humiliation. Pure bad luck leaves him stumbling upon the secret of Imu on the "Empty Throne," a secret that is ''inevitably'' fatal to everyone who discovers it. He's now a hunted fugitive.

* DirtyCoward: In spite of his arrogance, when he learned how strong Blackbeard's crew was, Wapol ''took his army and ran'' rather than fight them, leaving his country defenseless. Vivi is appalled when she hears this.

** His reaction to learning of Imu is basically "Oh God Please Help Me I Don't Wanna Die" while going on the run.

* SecretKeeper: Who would've guessed that he'd be one of the very few people to know the darkest secret of the World Government? Except now that makes him a ''loose end.''

* CharacterDeath: It's not confirmed, but there is no mention of him walking away from the battle at sea with Kuma, strongly implying that Kuma did not spare him when he destroyed Bekori's ships and army and even the kind preacher-king's patience had its limits.
* {{Determinator}}: The guy will just not give up trying to reconquer the Sorbet Kingdom, to the point Kuma is stunned at his utter inability to cut his losses.

* UncertainDoom: [[spoiler:Whether he died out at sea when he tries to get revenge on Kuma is unknown. That he never bothers the Sorbert Kingdom ever again implies he did.]]

* ActionMom: She's adoptive mother of Nami and Nojiko and she ''was'' a Marine.

* ActionMom: She's adoptive mother of Nami and Nojiko and she ''was'' a Marine. She even manages to knock Arlong back and stick a gun in his face. Unfortunately, Arlong isn't an ordinary opponent.

* DefiantToTheEnd: Not one ounce of fear from her toward Arlong. She refuses to back down and willingly gives her life for her girls.

* DyingDeclarationOfLove: Platonic version, but Belle-Mère's final words are to tell her daughters she loves them very much.

* GoOutWithASmile: She gives a smile worthy of a D bearer when she proclaims her love for her girls, just before Arlong fires the fatal gunshot.

* RetiredBadass: Was in the Marines for a bit, but retired early to raise Nami and Nojiko.

* RetiredBadass: Was in the Marines for a bit, but retired early to raise Nami and Nojiko. It's implied she wasn't unskilled by East Blue standards, either.

* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Kuina had Zoro's number in combat. She was so good that he started training with three swords simultaneously ''just'' to keep up, inventing Three Sword Style in the process. It didn't work, much to his frustration.

It didn't work, much to his frustration. It's implied no matter how high Zoro climbs, he will always remember that Kuina is the one person he never defeated and will always see her as a step ahead of him.

* FamilyOfChoice: Zeff is Sanji's father by everything but blood because Sanji chooses him to be. More poignant when we meet Sanji's horrifically abusive, cruel biological father Vinsmoke Judge who believes Sanji to be the broken failure of his four sons. When Sanji stands up to Judge, he makes it firmly clear that Zeff is the only father he acknowledges.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Zeff is rudely blunt and doesn't hesitate to lay the smackdown on Sanji, even when he was still a kid, but he truly does care for Sanji, and cries when Sanji leaves to join the Straw Hats. Zeff rejoices with the other cooks when he learns of Sanji's first bounty.

Zeff rejoices with the other cooks when he learns of Sanji's first bounty. Especially notable when we meet Sanji's tyrannical, abusive brute of a biological father who has none of Zeff's virtues.

Added DiffLines:

* SoleSurvivor: Zeff is the only survivor of his old crew when the storm took their ship, and sacrificed his leg to save Sanji from starvation.

this trope is about subversions of The Reveal, not when something is unknown. Also, avoid writing "currently" as it makes the entry dated

* The Un - Reveal: It's currently unknown, if there both still alive or not, if they regret how they treated their son Sabo or if they grieved over their son Sabo's 'apparent death'.
