* [=~Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!~=]: He spends the entire first game without remembering [[spoiler:the reason he joined the UAA in the first place was to assassinate his evil sister/ex girlfriend Jeane to avenge his parents. Until he actually meets Jeane again.]]
** More like he repressed the memories, and only remembers when he's very, very drunk. Given how he was probably not in any way a badass at the time, it makes sense that he'd try very hard to forget.

* ChaoticNeutral: The only thing really separating him from ChaoticEvil is the fact that he hasn't really killed anyone who wasn't a CompleteMonster or at the very least another assassin or person trying to kill him, and in fact [[spoiler:spared Shinobu and wanted to spare Holly Summers because he liked her.]]
** He has a few more PetTheDog moments in the sequel as well. [[spoiler:Ryuji was a WorthyOpponent, so Travis wanted to spare him and would have if Sylvia Christel hadn't intervened and refused to let Sylvia destroy Captain Vladimir's body after realizing that Vladmir had been lost in space for so long he never realized he was back on Earth until his fight with Travis]]. In fact, his actions near the end of the game show that he's leaning more towards ChaoticGood now.

** Hilariously, in an interview given to Nintendo Power a few months before ''Desperate Struggle'' was released, Suda expressed how he loved to picture Travis as a wrestler, and uses the terms heel and face to describe his career--you can guess what the basic gist of it was.

** Probably because the player (and Travis, for that matter) realize as the game goes on just how much of a bitch she is.

* KarmaHoudini: For someone who sets up a bunch of hits, nothing bad happens to her [[spoiler:and Travis ends up glad that she set up all those fights, even after he learns he's been cheated by her.]]
** It later turns out that [[spoiler:she ''did'' give Travis what he wanted, which was a chance to get revenge for what happened to his parents, which he drunkenly said to Sylvia when he first met her.]]
** [[spoiler:Subverted in the events after the sequel, where she is shown to be miserable and working at a strip club, being paid to recount the events of the game to a mystery client--Travis.]]

* AllThereInTheManual: Jeane's breed.
** Also, [[spoiler: her name comes from being a replacement for the other Jeane, who dumped him.]]

This is to avert TruffautWasRight, because the theme of the game was how petty and stupid revenge is and the morale would be lost if they had made him charismatic in comparison to Travis or indeed, fullfilling to kill at all.
