* NerdsAreSexy: A socially awkward klutz with NerdGlasses, but no one on the show denies her beauty. She may be less of a MsFanservice than Cece, but it doesn't stop men from finding her attractive.

* SirNotAppearingInThisTrailer: Despite being a main character, she's left out of a huge amount of the promotional materials. She's the only main cast member who's not in the title sequence, and even in the show, she's frequently an AbsenteeActor. As of the fourth season, the title sequence has been changed to a new one (it's about five seconds long) which includes both her and Coach.

* {{Meganekko}}: In-universe, she has contacts, but sharp-eyed viewers will notice they're just frames with no lenses.

* EndearinglyDorky: She's a clumsy, sweet, and bubbly {{Meganekko}} whose playful innocence is part of her appeal. Only in the first episode, we see her singing and humming, dancing chicken dance and wearing funny fake teeth. Her roommates learn to love her for all her quirks, and she's a notable DudeMagnet throughout the show.

* TheCynic: Oh so very much. He makes Chandler Bing from Series/{{Friends}} look fluffy and optimistic by comparison.

* TheEeyore: He's oftentimes a pathetic sad-sack and an emotional wreck especially when he's miserable during a relationship or after a breakup.

* TheComicallySerious: The most diligent, intelligent and sophisticated organizer of the group, he's still has his eccentricities and immaturities like everyone else.

* NervousWreck: He's a very neurotic, high-strung and fussy person and he is prone to freakouts because of his VERY obsessive and stubborn nature.

* ThePerfectionist: Schmidt always is driven by perfectionism, otherwise he freaks out dramatically.

* OutnumberedSibling: He later mentions that he has three sisters.
