Nine. Nine likewise had difficulty using aspects like the Summoning, and is incredulous when Izumi seemingly summons something shortly after getting "Glyphs".

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Kudo, while still surly, serious, and not thinking Izumi is a good choice for a successor, is more willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, helped by his Quirk being the ''first'' one she unlocks and in turn giving him more of an opportunity to interact with her. What's more, his disapproval is hinted to be a mix of being a {{tsundere}} and AngerBornOfWorry, as Izumi could tell he looked more ''sad'' than angry at her, likely due to knowing all she's suffered and not wanting to place the burden of One For All on her shoulders. It eventually reaches the point where he becomes akin to an overprotective father for Izumi, the other vestiges needing to calm him down whenever someone hurts Izumi or makes her uncomfortable in any capacity. * ChainsawGood: One of his go-to weapons is a chainsaw that he attaches to his tail, made using the emulated "Techno Rearrange" Quirk.
* ComboPlatterPowers: Thanks to the Quirk Emulator, Durandal can emulate up to ''thirty'' Emitter-Type Quirks, all of which he can use to different extents. Among the powers he's emulated include:
** [[spoiler:As Zaraba was possessing the body of Flect Turn]] and touched Durandal, Durandal was able to emulate [[spoiler:Flect's]] "[[AttackReflector Reflect]]" Quirk. Unlike [[spoiler:Flect's]] however, which was permanently active, Durandal has to consciously activate the emulated copy, and can only use his sparingly due to the already massive power drain the Quirk Emulator causes to Durandal's internal reactor.
** The first Quirk ever uploaded into the Quirk Emulator was "[[ExtraOreDinary Techno Rearrange]]", the Quirk of The Mechanist. Said Quirk allows Durandal to manipulate mechanical matter and rearrange it on a molecular level, primarily using it to either power his reactor by deconstructing metal, or build weapons for his own use like his chainsaw tail.
** He can emulate Ochaco's "[[GravityMaster Zero Gravity]]", but only the aspect that can remove the effects of gravitons from things he touches. [[spoiler:This is due to the ability to move objects and reactivate it remotely being derived from her Sematick born psionic powers, ''not'' her Quirk.]]
** Durandal was permitted to emulate Recovery Girl's "[[HealingHands Heal]]" Quirk after first meeting her, as she wanted another healer to be on hand if needed, allowing him to heal others by using their stamina.
** Durandal's Quirk Emulator has successfully managed to emulate two different Quirks [[PowerNullifier capable of nullfying different kinds of the abilities]]. The first is Shota's "Erasure", as Shota deliberately let Durandal emulate it after it was decided Inko would be looking after Eri, in the event Eri's Quirk went wild again. The second is "Null Zone", [[spoiler:the Quirk of the "Children of Blood" member that was controlling the Nomu, and managed to nullify Rolls' psionic abilities, Durandal managing to emulate it after said members [[DeathByFallingOver "trip"]] caused his blood to splash on Durandal.]] Durandal kept the latter's existence a secret, even from Izumi, so that [[spoiler:no one could learn about it from reading Izumi's mind. He was forced to reveal it's existence when facing Zaraba however.]]
** He was able to emulate Yui's "[[SizeShifter Size]]", allowing him to reduce or increase the size of whatever he touches.
** After she was ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice, Anan Kurose/Thirteen's blood splattered on Durandal, allowing him to emulate her "[[UnrealisticBlackHole Black Hole]]" Quirk. While his body lacks the proper mutations to use her Quirk, he keeps it solely so she can live on in some capacity.
* {{Expy}}: Durandal is [[https://archiveofourown.org/comments/594564450 based off of several different]] {{robot dog}}s, specifically citing Blade Wolf from ''VideoGame/MetalGearRisingRevengeance'', Treble from ''VideoGame/MegaManClassic'', the titular ''Film/{{AXL}}'', and ARS from ''VideoGame/{{Vanquish}}''.
* ExpyCoexistence: Durandal is partially an expy of Blade Wolf from ''VideoGame/MetalGearRisingRevengeance'', but numerous characters, including Durandal himself, make reference to the ''VideoGame/MetalGear'' series existing InUniverse.
* GrewBeyondTheirProgramming: Durandal was originally an AI created by Dr. Paxton to assist him, but was accidentally made too smart and became self-aware. Upon learning of the Quirk Emulator Paxton had developed and knowing just how dangerous it would be for him to possess it, Durandal hijacked the robot housing it and escaped, before ending up at Takoba Municipal Beach where he'd be found by Izumi over a decade later. While Durandal may be forced to obey his programming that compels him to do what Izumi orders him too, he's otherwise a fully sapient smart-AI now courtesy of the robots positronic brain, and just as alive as any of the other characters.
* LetsGetDangerous: [[spoiler:Zaraba reveals Durandal's origins to the entire class, the Heretic thinking it would cause Durandal to panic or the class to turn on him. Instead, Durandal begins {{laughing|Mad}}, breaks out his {{chainsaw|Good}}, and activates Null Zone to neutralize Zaraba's psionic abilities, explaining to him that revealing the truth just means Durandal doesn't need to hold back anymore.]]
-->'''Durandal:''' You idiot! You fucking incompetent moron! You just had to [[spoiler:reveal the existence of the quirk emulator]], didn't you? You dumbass!
-->'''Zaraba:''' Why, are you laughing? [[spoiler:I just revealed everything about you! About your creator, about your quirk emulator.]] So why is that so funny to you?
-->'''Durandal:''' Because, ''[[spoiler:I no longer have to hide it from them]]''!
* PowerArmor: Durandal possesses an additional mode called "Armoured Wolf form". In this mode, he transforms into a suit of armor that Izumi can wear that increases her speed, striking power, situational awareness, and firepower, but stops her from accessing Durandal's Quirk Emulator.
* PowerCopying: Durandal possesses a "Quirk Emulator", originally designed by Paxton to allow his robots to replicate Quirks, but was stolen by Durandal while still in the prototype stage. The Quirk Emulator requires physical contact with whoever Durandal wants to copy the Quirk of, can only properly copy Emitter-type Quirks, only copies the base power rather than any stockpile it may possess, and has a maximum limit of thirty Quirks that it can copy. In addition, it's a ''huge'' drain on Durandal's internal reactor, and prolonged use can increase the risk of overheating, though Durandal has learned to mitigate the former using one of the first Quirks he copied from "The Mechanist", that can deconstruct mechanical matter and reallocate it to parts of his system. Due to the potential risks such technology could pose were anyone to learn about it, along with the countless groups that would want to tear Durandal apart to get his emulator, it's existence is kept on a strictly need to know basis.
* SociopathicHero: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. Durandal possesses a positronic brain and hyper-advanced ArtificialIntelligence, making him just as alive as the rest of the cast. While he may have the capacity to care for others though and act as an emotional support animal, that is largely due to his programming and being bound to Izumi's biometric data, and is highly sociopathic otherwise. He ''does'' care about Izumi though and grows to care for those close to her if only for her sake, even developing a small amount of empathy as a result.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Technically speaking, he's only 10 years old, having been created ''right'' at the end of the Avalon War before he went rogue. And considering he was offline for the majority of that time, he's been "alive" even less than that.

** In canon, Eri's "Rewind" Quirk worked solely on living biological/organic matter, reverting it to a prior state in time depending on how long she uses her Quirk. Here, she can also affect ''in''organic matter so long as she's directly holding it, as a broach Recovery Girl has given her to hold had previously displayed signs of damage and aging due to being fifty years old, but was reverted to being good as new after Eri's Quirk activated.

* WhenYouComingHomeDad: Part of the reason Chiharu resents her mother Chitose so much is because Chitose is too busy with work to even ''notice'' her, and once her father Akito died, resulted in Chiharu being forced to stay in a nightmarish care home due to Chitose ''still'' being too focused on work. When she ends up seeing Chitose the second day of the Sports Festival, Chiharu tears into her for always being absent and seemingly only ''now'' bothering to show any interest in her, after she did well in the Sports Festival.

** In canon, Eri's "Rewind" Quirk worked solely on living biological/organic matter, reverting it to a prior state in time depending on how long
she wasn't certain about uses her sexuality before, seeing Ochaco Quirk. Here, she can also affect ''in''organic matter so long as she's directly holding it, as a broach Recovery Girl has given her to hold had previously displayed signs of damage and aging due to being fifty years old, but was reverted to being good as new after Eri's Quirk activated.
** Alongside her Quirk, Eri also has various psionic powers, including {{telepathy}}, telekinesis, technopathy, and mind reading, ''[[OutsideContextMagic none of which are considered Quirks]]''.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Surprisingly, she can get territorial over her big sister Izumi, glaring and all but growling at Sanpā when the two both try sitting on
Izumi's updated costumes causes lap.
* DisabledInTheAdaptation: Eri had her vocal cords removed by Overhaul after he got sick of her crying. She can still communicate via her {{telepathy}}, but she is physically mute now. [[spoiler:Following the attack by Zaraba however, she gets hit with a bullet laced with Trigger, sending her Quirk into overdrive, and rewinding her throat to the point before Overhaul removed them, allowing
her to confirm speak again.]]
* HalfHumanHybrid: [[spoiler:According

More specifically, she is from a powerful but thought to be all but extinct subspecies called "Littit", with only a single known survivor: Paltheus the [[KillTheGod God Slayer]]. What Eri's connection, if any, to Paltheus is remains to be seen.]]
* HappilyAdopted: Everyone accepts
that she's gay.
* ComboPlatterPowers: Chiharu's Quirk is, in a similar vein to Katsuki
all but been adopted by Inko and Shoto's, a combination of her parents Quirks. "Minefield" mixes Chitose's "Landmine" with Akito's ability to place lights wherever he touched, allowing her to plant mines wherever she touched. While she initially thought her Quirk was [[WhatKindOfLamePowerIsHeartAnyway limited to a single minefield at a time, had a 1000 mine limit, and was barely worse than a cracker snap]] due to the foster home's poor training, speaking Izumi, with Izumi gladly regarding her as her precious little sister, and training under Gran Torino allowed Eri considering Izumi and Inko two of the most important people in her life. Once Inko manages to discover finalize the adoption papers, she could is fully welcomed by the two as the newest Midoriya family member, with Eri completely overjoyed.
* HearingVoices: Eri's telepathy is so strong she involuntarily hears the mental voices of the people around her, and can pick up the dozens of thoughts they have. More often than
not only spread out said thoughts are just standard fare, and replace come across to her mines by continuously touching an area, but could ''overlay'' them in order to increase their explosive yield, making it as if she's hearing a bunch of people at once. Other times though she hears different voices from the same person, something that otherwise confuses her. One such example is Blossom, as while some of the voices she hears from Blossom sound like her, very warm and gentle, several of the voices are much harsher and colder, and are explicitly described as "hidden", implying they are the thoughts Blossom buries and tries to repress. Worst is the ''third'' kind of voice Eri hears from her, resembling more effective Quirk.
* DareToBeBadass: Chiharu had no intention of doing well
an animal than a person, covered in the Sports Festival, only participating due to not realizing the Business Course didn't have to, steel and only going to the third round due to partnering layered in pipes.
* HiddenDepths: While she may look extremely innocent and sweet, being used as a guinea pig by Kai for so long has left her filled
with Izumi, Ochaco, a lot of anger and Mei for the Cavalry Battle since resentment, which she didn't know anyone else. After managing to make it to the second set of matches in the third round however, she ends up getting a couple internship offers and, per the requirements of the Sports Festival, the offer to dual major in the Hero Course. While she initially had no desire to be a Hero, she ultimately decides to try it out and see if it fits her, becoming the "Detonating Hero: Sweeper".
* FanCreatedOffspring: There's no indication in canon that Curious had any children, let alone was married before her death. Chiharu meanwhile is an OriginalCharacter for the fic and is conceptualized as Chitose's daughter.
* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: By all accounts, Chiharu has every right to resent Chitose and doubt her intentions when she tries to reconnect with her, as
even realized she had abandoned her in an abusive care home and continued to ignore her for years. However, Chiharu is still attempting to go into an extremely dangerous job without consulting Chitose, as well as ignoring her calls until after Chiharu was in the middle of a dangerous villain attack, calls that came from a place of extreme concern given that her father died in a similar attack. she'd been saved. As Katsuki points out, there is no excuse for this, especially since Chitose has shown legitimate love for Chiharu numerous times in the past and present and regrets abandoning her. Katsuki calling her out was enough for Chiharu to pull a HeelRealization and give her mother another chance, even if such, she is still keeping her at arm's length.
* HeelRealization: Following Katsuki [[WhatTheHellHero reading her the riot act]] over not telling Chitose
occasionally deliberately informs others about her decision to be a Hero, Chiharu ends up doing some self-reflection, realizing her decision to try being a Hero was partly motivated by spite at Chitose, which isn't exactly a good lack of vocal cords and reason for being a Hero, and that she had ended up repressing the memories of Chitose actually ''expressing'' love for her, as well as how much Chitose had actually been affected by Akito's death and the thought of losing Chiharu too. This prompts Chiharu to extend an olive branch to Chitose, both to not unintentionally make Chitose suffer for Akito's death anymore, and to address her own feelings of guilt, giving Chitose one last chance to prove she cares for her more than her job. And while she still thinks to herself that she despises Chitose, she at least wants to ''try'' and see if things will work.
* ParentalAbandonment: Chiharu's mother, Chitose Kizuki, is too preoccupied with work to care for Chiharu in person, while her father Akito died long ago during Paxton's war. As a result, Chiharu was forced to stay in a crappy foster home for most of her young life, all but
said loss so as to be a secret Meta Liberation Army training center, leading to her developing resentment fans the flames of hatred towards Chitose Kai, hoping that ''someone'' will make him pay for abandoning what he did to her.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Chiharu is noted to be the spitting image of {{Protectorate}}: ''Everyone'' who meets her mother, Chitose Kizuki/Curious, the only difference being that Chiharu keeps after Inko saved her hair shorter is immediately taken by how cute she is, and straighter. Chiharu herself ''hates'' the fact she looks upon learning what Kai did to her, is all set to hunt him down and ''painfully'' end his life. Even those who would normally abhor killing are willing to do so much like her mother though thanks to the abandonment issues she's been plagued with thanks to Chitose's "work" keeping her busy, making her own face a reminder of how much she hates her mother.
* WhenYouComingHomeDad: Part
for Eri. The tags of the reason Chiharu resents fic ''do'' say "'Eri Protection Squad (My Hero Academia)', 'more like battalion at this point'".
-->'''Izumi:''' (She should really tell

The number of people onboard the Overhaul murder train was starting to Chitose ''still'' being too focused on work. When get excessive. Added DiffLines:

* AffectionateNickname: She tends to refer to [[spoiler:Ochaco]] as "Mariata", it made clear Rolls is being flirtatious when saying it, even if [[spoiler:Ochaco]] would rather she didn't call them that. [[spoiler:According to Rolls, "Mariata" is the name her species uses for the star Ochaco is named after.]]
* CasualKink: Rolls is into BDSM, and isn't afraid to admit such to anyone within earshot if it remotely comes up, telling such to Izumi and Himiko when Himiko expresses her disdain for Seiai being a "proper" school.
* EmbarrassingFirstName: Only when combined with an EmbarrassingMiddleName too. Rolls's full name is "''Rolls Royce'' Phantom", named after the car manufacturers due to her parents love for them. Because of her name, her "almost alien" beauty, and being British, she's commonly asked if she's an alien from a planet near the star Betelgeuse, all while people keep referencing ''Franchise/TheHitchhikersGuideToTheGalaxy''. Because of this, she mostly goes by "Rolls".
-->'''Durandal:''' You're named, after a British luxury sedan? Are you an alien?
-->'''Rolls:''' Why do people keep asking me that?
* FanCreatedOffspring: [[PlayingWithATrope Sibling more-accurately]], but Rolls's older sister is revealed to be the Otheon Hero and World Hero Association agent Clair Voyance, real name Clair Phantom here.
* HonoraryTrueCompanion: Rolls is named an honorary member of the Snuggle Squad following the attack by the Children of Blood, as she ends up sleepwalking into Izumi and Himiko's room and snuggles up to them. While Izumi is still somewhat wary of her due to "Quirk" resembling Eri's, she decides to put that aside after learning the discrimination she faced over it and openly invites her to the group.
* HumanoidAliens: Unlike her half-sister Clair, [[spoiler:she's a pureblooded Sematick due to her mother also being a Sematick, a race of alien that naturally possess psionic powers. She is specifically a Traram Sematick, aka a "Royal".]]
* MissingMom: Rolls never knew her mother, having left sometime after she gave birth to Rolls.
* OhCrap: She nearly shits herself upon meeting Melissa and learning her Middle Name is "Viro", [[spoiler:due to being well aware of that being the name of a Cardrian swarm.]]
* PaperThinDisguise: {{Downplayed|Trope}}, as the details only become paper thin ''after'' one becomes aware of what she is. [[spoiler:Namely that despite having a powerful Telepathy "Quirk", she still wears special red shoes made for Quirkless people, and she was specifically named after a car ''just'' like ''Franchise/TheHitchhikersGuideToTheGalaxy'', each time someone brought it causing her to reiterate [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial she is not an alien]]. It's because of this that Himiko is so readily able to accept it when told she's an alien.]]
* PowerGivesYouWings: One of her abilities allows her to create a pair of red energy wings, though she can't fly with them, only using them for NotQuiteFlight like jumping and slowing her descent. Said ability isn't unique to her either, as she offers to teach [[spoiler:Ochaco]] how to do it too.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: She has a lot of similar personality traits to that of her older sister Clair, both being ''very'' kinky when off the clock and being great at strategy.
* ThereAreNoCoincidences: When Rolls comes to pick up Izumi for her internship with Ingenium, she asks Rolls what her Quirk is, Rolls saying it's a "combination Quirk" in a similar vein to Katsuki and Shoto's, stating that hers gives her both {{telepathy}} and telekinesis. This immediately raises red flags for Izumi both due to how convenient it is for someone to have a combination of those exact two Quirks, and because those are the same powers ''Eri'' has, which were explicitly [[OutsideContextMagic not Quirks]]. What's more, Durandal could see that Rolls wore a pair of ''red'' shoes, with the fic following the fanon that red shoes similar to Izumi's are custom made shoes meant to accommodate ''Quirkless'' people due to their having extra toe joints. Both details end up making the two cautious around Rolls, since it suggests she's not only got similar powers to Eri, but that she's actually ''Quirkless'', and especially concerning she just so happened to be interning at the same spot Izumi was going to.

!!In General
----
* EnsembleCast: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. Izumi and Ochaco are by and large ''the'' main leads, and the most important members of the Snuggle Squad overall. The rest of the Squad however all act as {{rotating protagonist}}s for each arc, and hold significantly more focus than the rest of their classmates in 1-A, with the group as a whole functioning as the overall main characters. Even characters that were originally supporting cast like Chiharu and Rolls end up gaining more prominence after joining, resulting in their becoming main characters too.
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: It's abundantly clear to onlookers that, aside from the young Eri, all the members of the group hold romantic feelings for each other, even if they themselves don't realize it. As a result, everyone is just waiting for when they become a {{poly|amory}}cule. More specifically, everyone can tell Mei has feelings for the others, helped by the fact they are the only people aside from her family whose names she bothers to remember. Mei likewise reveals to everyone that Nejire has barely hidden feelings for Momo, something Nejire doesn't deny when she [[StealthHiBye pops up out of nowhere]] using Momo's lap as a pillow.
* {{Polyamory}}: An {{invoked|Trope}} case InUniverse. [[EveryoneCanSeeIt Both the staff and 1-A students]] can tell they all care intimately for one another, and largely expect all of them, sans Eri and the robots, to get together eventually, the former even having a betting pool over it. Even in the Snuggle Squad itself, Momo has feelings for both Izumi and Ochaco, and is only refraining from acting on them so they can have some time together following their RelationshipUpgrade[[spoiler:, Tsuyu and Himiko likewise working towards it after their own upgrade]]. Mei later decides to ask Chiharu out, with her reaction making clear she still is interested in the others too, while Nejire has made clear her intentions to date Momo which she makes good on during the I-Expo, and Rolls is already in an established relationship with Saiko.
* SleepCute: The majority of the members, whether knowingly or unknowingly, have feelings for each other, and regularly sleep in the same bed together to take comfort in each other's embrace, resulting in this.

* AdaptationNameChange: Without "Deku" becoming an AppropriatedAppelation, Izumi uses the name suggested by Durandal: "The Unstoppable Hero: ''Usako''".
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: Izumi actually tries going through with committing suicide, jumping off the ledge of the roof All Might left her on, only to be saved by her future therapist, Dr. Isa Tsuneyo. As a result of having nearly tried killing herself, she ends up breaking down when Death Arms and Kamui Woods try lecturing her and accusing her of having a death wish, bringing to others attention just how emotionally fragile she is and necessitating she seek therapy, said sessions forcing her to realize Katsuki Bakugo has been her tormentor, not friend, for some time now, giving her both a crippling fear of him ''and'' both acrophobia and basophobia. [[spoiler:It becomes worse when she realizes she ''did'' successfully kill herself, but Dr. Isa revived her then hypnotized her into thinking she didn't die.]]
* AdaptationalBadass: [[spoiler:As a result of Nine trying to switch Izumi's Quirk with one of his own without realizing One For All can't be taken, combined with Durandal's Emulator being shocked into overdrive, Izumi gained ''all'' of the Quirks Nine had in his imperfect copy of All For One. Specifically, she obtained Quirks based on the Semblances of [[WebAnimation/{{RWBY}} Teams RWBY and JNPR]], which were in turn supercharged by the energy stockpile.]]
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: Izumi's first hero costume here is explicitly based on her ''Beta'' Costume, which Izumi canonically received when he first interned with Gran Torino.
* AdaptationalSuperpowerChange: In canon, "One For All" carried with it the vestiges of the previous users due to it merging with their Quirk Factors, which carried imprints of the mind and personalities of whoever the Quirk originally belonged to, Izuku just being able to interact with them due to the unique nature of "One For All". Here, the Quirk explicitly contains the ''souls'' of those that wielded it, their souls having joined it upon their deaths, meaning Izumi is effectively speaking to the dead whenever she talks to them. [[spoiler:This ends up becoming a major factor when Zaraba tries to devour Izumi's soul, as "One For All" proceeds to absorb her soul before Zaraba can devour it, prematurely turning her into a vestige, and causes Sarada and Clair to consider Izumi a high-priority target to the Heretics should they learn about "One For All" and how it works.]]
* BungledSuicide: The story begins when she attempts to take her own life by jumping off the building Toshinori left her own, only for her to be saved by the passing by Dr. Isa Tsuneyo, his "Inertial Dampening" Quirk allowing him to catch her before she hit the ground. [[spoiler:[[SubvertedTrope Or not.]] She actually ''did'' hit the ground, successfully killing herself and leaving her head cracked open. Dr. Isa actually ''found'' her recently dead body and revived her, then hypnotized her into forgetting she successfully killed herself and what his Quirk ''actually'' was.]]
* BeautifulSingingVoice: She's described as having a ''gorgeous'' singing voice, as shown when she sung ''[[VideoGame/IExpectYouToDie The Spy and the Liar]]'' in private. This is just another one of Izumi's talents she was forced to suppress due to Aldera, as her classmates bullied her out of jealously that a quirkless girl was better at singing than they were.
* ButNotTooBi: Izumi is officially bisexual, the fic even having the tag "Bisexual Disaster Midoriya Izuku". However, all of her significant romantic moments so far have been with other women, making her come across as homosexual. This is {{justified|Trope}} in that, when she was younger, she had thought she was heterosexual and tried asking Katsuki out on a date, but was met with an explosion to the face for her trouble, which in turn caused all the guys at Aldera to follow his lead and attack her if she tried asking them out, causing her further trauma. She later realized she was bisexual, and had been hiding that fact from others out of fear she'd be rejected by women too, and only started expressing interest in them after the girls of 1-A managed to get her to lower her emotional walls. She later admits to herself that the trauma she's still suffering all but killed any attraction she had towards men.
* ComboPlatterPowers: Izumi reaches the Quirk Singularity much earlier here than in canon, and as such is able to slowly begin unlocking the Quirks of the prior holders. Additionally, "One For All" gains ''nine'' more Quirks [[spoiler:as a result of Nine accidentally implanting one into her, and Durandal's overcharged Quirk Emulator stealing the other eight he had, all but one originally belonging to one of the members of [[WebAnimation/{{RWBY}} Teams RWBY and JNPR]] before All For One stole them.]] Those Quirks are:
** "Cat Scan", which allows her to scan for weaknesses in an enemy. [[spoiler:Originally belonged to Dr. Elize Kirschbaum.]]
** "Tranquility", which keeps Izumi calm even if her emotions would normally be running wild. [[spoiler:Originally belonged to Lie Ren.]]
** "Petal Burst", which allows Izumi to turn into rose petals and move at high velocities before reforming. [[spoiler:Originally belonged to Ruby Rose.]]
** "Glyphs", which can anchor Izumi or others in place, increase her speed, and recreate fallen foes. [[spoiler:Originally belonged to Weiss Schnee.]]
** "Shadow", initially just an [[SpeedEchoes afterimage]], now allows Izumi to create a LivingShadow. [[spoiler:Originally belonged to Blake Belladonna/"Shadow".]]
** "Burn", which converts pain into physical strength and makes Izumi's hair appear to be on fire. [[spoiler:Originally belonged to Yang Xiao-Long/"Blaze".]]
** "Polarity", which gives Izumi MagnetismManipulation abilities. [[spoiler:Originally belonged to Pyrrha Nikos.]]
** "Aura Shield", which grants Izumi a passive shield around her body. [[spoiler:Originally belonged to Jaune Arc.]]
** "High Voltage", which allows Izumi to convert electrical energy into enhancing her muscles and healing injuries. [[spoiler:Originally belonged to Nora Valkyrie.]]
* CovertPervert: Izumi is, as the tags put it, a "bisexual disaster", regularly expressing attraction over her female classmates and blushing up a storm over how beautiful they are. She also has ''tons'' of mobile games on her phone filled with waifu characters, initially only getting them due to special events that had units based on heroes, then keeping them due to the attractive designs. She also admits to Ochaco she has a "Quirk Play" fetish.
* DisabledInTheAdaptation: In canon, Izuku's being bullied for years didn't affect him ''too'' negatively once he got to UA, at worst suffering from SelfDeprecation and being very shy, his later psychological issues stemming more from an internalized sense of worthlessness over once being Quirkless, the mental burden of feeling he alone had to face All For One to protect the others, and a general lack of care for his own well being if it meant saving others, and even then all those issues only came to the forefront as a result of the PLF War and All For One deliberately ''goading'' Izuku to that state. Here, the fic ''starts'' with Izumi trying to [[DrivenToSuicide kill herself]] as a result of the near decades worth of bullying and her dream being crushed by her idol, she develops severe PTSD and trauma from the failed attempt, develops acrophobia, basophobia, and a crippling fear of Katsuki, and is overall much more emotionally fragile, to the point she is considered to be on suicide watch even when she joins UA, and can legally have Durandal act as an emotional support animal due to being legally considered mentally ill.
* EvenTheLovingHeroHasHatedOnes: Izumi is normally an AllLovingHero with hardly a mean bone in her body. After enrolling in UA however, she begins demonstrating anger regularly at three people: [[TheBully Katsuki]], [[TheFriendNobodyLikes Minoru]], and [[HeroKiller Stain]], the former for the years of bullying, the second for his perversion, and the latter for killing many heroes that she admires. This is {{deconstructed|Trope}} however in that her having such anger is noted even by herself to be unusual, and serves as a sign to her that she's developing anger issues that need addressing, particularly after Minoru apologizing for his behavior causes her to realize that her anger at him was {{misplaced|Retribution}} anger at Katsuki leaking through, said anger in turn blinding her to the issues Minoru had already visibly demonstrated.
* EveryoneHasStandards: PlayedForLaughs. She may be a massive All Might fangirl, but she doesn't consume all All Might media unquestionably. There are numerous All Might related products, particularly a crappy sequel movie, that she ''loathes'' enough to go into long rants when they're brought up.
* GenderFlip: Izuku is female here, initially retaining the name "Izuku Midoriya", but an OrwellianRetcon would later change her name to "Izu''mi'' Midoriya".
* GoodCannotComprehendEvil: In a contrast to canon Izuku, who began trying to ''understand'' why Villains did what they did and how they became who they are, Izumi is incapable of fathoming ''why'' villains like Tomura Shigaraki or Dr. Paxton do what they do. [[spoiler:This actually causes her to dismiss the reality that Dr. Isa and Dr. Paxton were the same person, since she can't for the life of her ever see Dr. Paxton as anything but pure evil, nor can she fathom why he would waste a year of his life reviving her when she offers nothing of value to him.]] {{Justified|Trope}} due to Izumi's emotional issues and mental trauma being a ''lot'' worse than Izuku's, leaving her less able to empathize with Villains when she's already dealing with her own issues and worrying about her friends.
* {{Hammerspace}}: Much like canon, Izumi has the uncanny ability to be able to pull one of her notebooks out from anywhere. She ''also'' can pull out her Durandal Plush the same way. No one, not even Durandal with his positronic brain, can figure out where Izumi pulls these things from, and decided it was better not to question it.
-->'''Hanta:''' (After Izumi pulls out her Durandal Plush to give to Toru) Where were you carrying that?! You know what! Never mind! I do not want to know.
-->'''Durandal:''' Good call.
* HearingVoices: Izumi begins hearing the voices of the vestiges ''much'' earlier than in canon, and initially thinks she's hallucinating until she actually meets them.
* LovingAShadow: {{Inverted|Trope}}, in that it's more she ''hates'' a shadow. Izumi, after initially ''fearing'' him, now ''hates'' Katsuki with a passion, continuing to see him as the same bully she had to suffer under for a decade, and questioning ''why'' he's allowed at UA in the first place, ''why'' someone like Best Jeanist would take him on as an intern, and thinking its just him getting preferential treatment yet again. The Katsuki in her mind though is far from who he is ''now'', as [[DramaticIrony he's changed a lot more than she knows]], and circumstances continue to conspire to stop him from trying to apologize to her like he wants to. As a result, Izumi sees Katsuki as a vile HateSink who can never change and she'll never forgive for all he's done to her, while the actual Katsuki is genuinely regretful of all he's done and wants to apologize even if he believes he doesn't deserve forgiveness. [[spoiler:When she finally learns for herself how he's changed, the mere thought is so antithetical to the version of him in her head that she struggles to accept that its real, and if anything begins hating him ''more'' for actually changing seemingly independent of all he did to her, to the point she starts losing sleep and almost begins hyperfocusing on ''why'' he could have changed, unable to accept that it was him feeling remorse for what he did to her.]]
* OnlyMostlyDead: [[spoiler:In order to save her from Zaraba nearly consuming her soul, the vestiges of One For All forcefully drag Izumi's soul into the Quirk, prematurely turning her into a vestige. As Hikage said, this made her "kind of dead, but also kind of not dead", as her physical body now relies on One For All to survive. Not only does this mean that anything that can suppress her Quirk, such as Shota's "Erasure", is now fatal to her, it also means that she will likely pass away if she ever transfers One For All to a new user.]]
* PlayboyBunny: Izumi decided to get a prototype version of a new Hero Costume design modeled similarly to one just to see if she'd be comfortable wearing one, dubbed the "Alpha-R" costume, having gotten the idea after witnessing Bunny's Hero debut. When she submitted redesigns for her main costume along with it however, the designs were sent to Detnerat, who have a massive hatred for the Midoriya family here, causing them to hand them off to a lesser company, resulting in a mix-up. Now her hero costume has the upgrades she wanted for her ''actual'' costume, but the overall design for her Alpha-R costume, making her resemble a playboy bunny with iron-soled shoes and armored gloves, and due to the costume budget UA has, she's ''stuck'' with that costume until the start of the second semester, i.e. after summer break. [[spoiler:She ultimately decides to keep the general design anyway, the updated version given to her by David being virtually identical to the original just with fishnet stockings made out of the same material added, and the original now reserved for snuggling.]]
* {{Protectorate}}: {{Invoked|Trope}} by [[spoiler:Sarada. Following Zaraba's attack, Izumi's soul is absorbed into "One For All" and turned into a vestige, with the Quirk now being the only reason her body is technically "alive". Sarada and Clair learning this along with the nature of "One For All" causes them to realize just how ''dangerous'' it would be were a Sematick to be given the Quirk, even worse if a Heretic managed to take over her body and then pass the Quirk on while controlling it. As such, Zaraba decides Izumi's protection is paramount, and contacts his sister so she can take on Ochaco as a student and teach her how to use her Sematick powers, so that Ochaco can be Izumi's bodyguard indefinitely.]]
* StrongFamilyResemblance: {{Invoked|Trope}} by Durandal regarding Izumi and Hisashi. Izumi already strongly resembles Inko, but Durandal notes that, had Izumi been born a boy, Izumi would be the spitting image of Hisashi. Meaning, aside from having red hair, Hisashi looks nigh-identical to canon!Izuku.
* SureLetsGoWithThat: Everyone ends up mistaking Izumi's costume as having "bunny ears" when they see it, when she actually designed it to resemble All Might's tufts of hair. She decides to stop correcting others though after accepting no one could ever truly replace All Might and that she should be her ''own'' hero, though she'd prefer not being called a "bunny".
* TheseHandsHaveKilled: [[spoiler:Even if she wasn't in control of her body at the time, Izumi is horrified when she learns that she had killed Zaraba, not caring that it was arguably necessary given how much of a monster the man was. She is also furious at Second for being the one who took control of her body to do it, feeling it was a personal betrayal after he had been the one to look after her the most.]]
* TraumaButton: In addition to developing acrophobia and basophobia from her failed suicide attempt, Izumi ends up developing a crippling fear of Katsuki Bakugo, both from the decade of bullying he subjected her to, and from associating her failed suicide attempt with him due to his SuicideDare. Just bumping shoulders against him after not seeing him for ten months sends her into shock, and she regularly suffers panic attacks and crippling fear if she thinks about him for too long or thinks about seeing him. It's because of this that the staff decided to put Izumi in 1-A and Katsuki in 1-B, being fully aware that even if Katsuki is showing marked improvement and wants to apologize for what he did, Izumi is nowhere near ready to face him, and seeing him too quickly would not only stomp on her button, but possibly risk Katsuki backsliding too. Her fear eventually changes into unmitigated ''hatred'' for him, said hatred accidentally being unjustly transferred to Minoru, and causing her to be noticeably angered when she sees him arrive with Best Jeanist [[spoiler:for the raid to save Ochaco from the League]].
* TraumaCongaLine: To say Izumi's life has been hard is an {{understatement}}. Discriminated against for being Quirkless, her old friend and once crush becoming her greatest tormentor, forced to hide her talents due to her peers bullying her at any given chance, and having a BungledSuicide [[spoiler:that actually succeeded]] leaving her with crippling phobias and increased anxiety is already bad enough, but she at least managed to make new friends and even fall in love again. [[spoiler:Then she has her soul nearly devoured necessitating it be prematurely absorbed into One For All, she learns one of her first real friends has been harboring hatred towards her, she learns her suicide attempt ''did'' initially succeed and has to live with the knowledge she was briefly dead, is forced to live with [[TheseHandsHaveKilled her body being used to kill someone]], and discovers her beloved father was tortured to death.]] The fact Izumi is able to function at all after everything she's suffered is a miracle.

----
* AdaptationNameChange: Instead of "Uravity", Ochaco chooses the name "Gravity Hero: ''Gallastram''". She explains to Izumi she deliberately chose that name in the hopes others with OutsideContextMagic like her would notice her, stating the word "Gallastram" means something to people like her, even if she doesn't know ''what'' that meaning is, just that it has something to do with Faster Than Light travel. Whatever it means, it apparently wasn't a good choice, since Kiruka notes choosing that name was practically hanging a sign over her head saying she was a hybrid when they're supposed to be inconspicuous.
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: Ochaco had to watch her parents die before her eyes when she was only ''four'' as a result of being caught up in the crossfire of the [[GreatOffscreenWar Avalon War]]. This left her stuck living in an orphanage for the next decade and gave her emotional issues that trigger whenever she thinks about her parents. Losing Anan likewise heavily impacts her, as she had been her idol growing up, instilling in Ochaco a violently protective nature regarding those she cares about so that she doesn't lose anyone else.
* AdaptationalBadass:
** Ochaco's "Zero Gravity" Quirk has been upgraded, allowing her to ''re''activate her Quirk on anything she already used it on within a three hour timeframe, and can disassemble whatever her Quirk is affecting by pulling the various components in different directions. Though it ''was'' slightly {{nerf}}ed in the rewrite, increasing her limit in terms of weight. Initially, it seemed like her Quirk could also allow her to direct whatever she used it on, but she later reveals that aspect to be her using her telekinetic ability.
** She possesses OutsideContextMagic like Eri and Rolls via her dad's side, having {{telepathy}}, telekinesis, and mind reading, as well as tactile memory viewing. She hasn't used them too much as a result of her dad making her hide them, and she quickly exhausts herself if she tries to so much as even telekinetically move a mug without being aided by her Quirk.
* AdaptationalCurves: {{Play|ingWithATrope}}ed with. Initially, she looked nigh-identical to her canon physique. After the fic's equivalent of Hosu however, she got blasted by one of the Children of Blood's Quirks, not only giving her a bust increase, but a height increase too, giving her a physique closer to that of Momo's.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: There are several signs that there is something ''more'' to Ochaco than anyone else is aware of. While her thoughts and behavior fully cement that ''she'' sees herself as human and normal, there's no denying even InUniverse that there is something ''strange'' about Ochaco.
** She reveals to Izumi, Toshinori, and Durandal that, like Eri, she possesses OutsideContextMagic courtesy of her dad's side, but still isn't completely ready to tell them ''what'' she is, Toshinori already knowing and thinking to himself it's best if someone of her own "kind" helps her train her abilities, with her later mentally stating she's a HalfHumanHybrid of a human and an alien. It's later explained she's part "Sematick", a race of telepathic {{humanoid alien|s}}.
** She occasionally makes reference to a "Mother" and asks it to "preserve" people, initially looking like she's just religious and part of an unknown denomination, dodging the question when Ibara asks if she was right in having seen her praying before their match, and leaving Izumi confused since as far as she knew Ochaco wasn't Shinto, Buddhist, or Christian. During Hosu however, while Ryukyu and Nejire are taking care of the "Children of Blood", she's attacked and partially {{mind rape}}d by several stragglers, Nejire catching her mutter "-and protect our souls against the devourers. As mother commander, so shall it be." before she falls unconscious. It's later explained that "Mother" is the patron god of her race, the Sematicks, and that before meeting Rolls and Clair, she didn't know she was ''real''.
* AscendedExtra: {{Play|ingWithATrope}}ed with. In canon, she's the main heroine of the series and one of the more important characters overall, but she was a RotatingProtagonist who often shared the position with Tenya and Shoto, only retaining full time focus during the third act of the series. Here, she takes Katsuki's place as the {{deuteragonist}} and comes right after Izumi herself in terms of narrative focus and importance.
* ClingyJealousGirl: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. Ochaco is open to {{polyamory}} and wouldn't mind Izumi and her getting together with others like Nejire or Momo, but she wants Izumi to be comfortable with the idea first and foremost, and is waiting for that to happen. Until then, she ''acts'' like she is one to highlight to Izumi how much she cares for her, such as when Nejire suffered CutenessProximity over her Alpha-R costume and asked if she could keep Izumi, Ochaco ignored her PuppyDogEyes and told her to find her own.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Her second costume makes use of much darker colors meant to evoke the Abyss Cloud Nebula, dubbed her "Imperial" costume by [=META2012=]. She's still the same extremely sweet and kind Ochaco though, even if a bit more of TheTease to Izumi while wearing it.
* DeclarationOfProtection: After witnessing Izumi have a trauma induced nightmare, Ochaco promises her that, no matter what, if Izumi ''ever'' falls again, Ochaco will be there to catch her, a promise she makes good on when Kurogiri drops them into the Flood Zone and Izumi's basophobia kicks in, Ochaco quickly catching and calming her down. This declaration ends up making Ochaco someone Izumi highly trusts and cares for, even seeing an "Angel" resembling her save her from another fall in her nightmares while reminding her of that promise.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: There's quite a bit of details foreshadowing the fact Ochaco has OutsideContextMagic like Eri even before she reveals so to Izumi, Toshinori, and Durandal in Chapter 55.
** During the USJ, she gets [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness uncharacteristically rage-filled]] upon learning Argonaut killed Anan, and proceeds to not only throw the ''entire ship'' she, Izumi, Tsuyu, and Minoru had been on at him, but ''tanks'' a punch from the Nomu that nearly laid out All Might prior, with the only signs of damage being to her costume, and a couple broken bones. When later asked by her classmates how she managed to survive, she admits she doesn't know, just attributing it to stemming from her desire to protect Izumi. With the revelation that she ''does'' have psionic powers but has little training in them, it's implied what happened was a subconscious activation of her abilities.
*** What's more, the Nomu begins ''[[ItCanThink feeling emotions]]'' after it punched Ochaco, and ignores its programmed order to ''protect'' Tomura in favor of trying to ''kill'' Tomura, radiating pain, sorrow, and sadness when it looked at Izumi, and anger, hatred, and rage when it looked at Tomura. When Paxton has ARK analyze the Nomu afterwards, ARK notes that, right after it punched Ochaco, something ''possessed'' it, and ARK was incapable of overriding their control over it, the implication being that what was possessing it was ''Ochaco''.
** Numerous times it appears as if she's communicating with Izumi telepathically, and can seemingly tell what Izumi is thinking down to the exact detail. While Izumi herself thinks she's just imagining things when she hears Ochaco say she'll be alright against Katsuki, Katsuki himself sees her mumbling something right before the match, all but said to be Ochaco talking to Izumi herself. What's more, the day Ochaco had to return to the orphanage and Izumi saw her off to the train station, Izumi could ''feel'' as if someone gave her a kiss on the cheek once despite no one doing so, with it being implied Ochaco was the one who did it. All of this of course being because she ''does'' have {{telepathy}} as one of her powers.
** She demonstrates the ability to sense when other people are nearby her, being the only one amidst her, Izumi, and Tsuyu to notice Minoru was eavesdropping on them when Tsuyu was having an emotional moment, and commenting to herself about being "off [her] game" for failing to sense Momo and accidentally [[ThanksForTheMammary running face first into her boobs]].
** The "Grand Angel" in Izumi's dreams that resembles her displays control over Izumi's mental space, has ''three'' pairs of wings compared to the others singular pairs denoting her higher authority, is described as having an "almost alien, unearthly beauty" compared to the other Angels, and was the first to appear in Izumi's mind after Ochaco began sleeping with Izumi, coinciding with Ochaco revealing she's a CuddleBug and saying "world outside cold and cruel, bed warm and snuggles comfy" shortly after the Grand Angel first appeared, coinciding with the Grand Angel's desire to make Izumi's dreams a place she and the Angels can be safe and happy. Even further, is that the dreams are no longer ''just'' Izumi's, as Chiharu's joining the Snuggle Squad coincides with her experiencing the ''same dream'' Izumi experienced that night, down to the detail of the Angel resembling Chiharu having trouble flying and being shot out a nuclear reactor by the Angel resembling Mei, indicating they're less "dreams" and more an actual mental space the Snuggle Squad shares courtesy of Ochaco.
** Shortly after the arrival of Grille at UA, Ochaco withdraws into herself and only tells Izumi she can't tell her why she's doing so, even if she wants to, since it's a "personal matter". She then thinks to herself how she'd have to reveal to Izumi something about herself that she's not ready to yet, which she later makes clear is her powers and heritage.
* HalfHumanHybrid: She is half-Sematick, specifically of the "Arcistis" subspecies, courtesy of her father, an Arcistis Heretic.
* HateAtFirstSight: She hates Katsuki with a passion after noticing how Izumi reacts to him and learning about how he treated her. She later explains she saw Izumi's memories with her abilities, which gave her a first person perspective of what Katsuki had done, hence her immense hatred of him.
* HeroicRROD: After it looks like Zaraba ate Izumi's soul, Ochaco ''loses it'', overclocking her powers to the point she unlocks her "Destroyer" form, gaining ''six'' energy wings and coating her arms in the same energy. While this allows her to put up more of a fight against him, being blinded by rage leaves her attacks sloppy, and she only manages to injure him thanks to a combination of Durandal nullifying his powers and one of Minoru's sticky balls keeping him stuck. Immediately after, her arms and back are left burned, her brain is nearly fried, and she's temporarily unable to use her psionic abilities or even speak or think too much out of fear doing so could cause irreparable brain damage.
* HiddenDepths: She's a ''big'' ''VideoGame/{{Stellaris}}'' fan, her fleet being named the "Imperial Mochi Empire". She's ''also'' a gremlin in that game, once genociding half the universe just so her old laptop wouldn't lag as much, going LargeHam on anyone that fights her like Hitoshi and Neito, and blasts [[AwesomeMusic/StarWars Imperial March]] when she's in the lead. She also based the empire off of [[Film/StarWarsTheForceAwakens the First Order]], not because she likes ''them'' since she feels the only good thing from the Sequel Trilogy was Kylo Ren's Crossguard Lightsaber, but because she doesn't want to deal with the copyright lawyers of Emperor Palpatine. All of these are later explained to be her embracing her "Imperial" heritage, as the Sematick Imperium has a lot in common with the Galactic Empire.
* NotMeThisTime: After she comes to terms with likely being half-Sematick herself, Himiko comes to Ochaco asking for the same kind of training she gave Eri on protecting their minds from others, having overheard Eri talking to someone telepathically. Ochaco however clarifies she ''didn't'' teach Eri anything, especially since Ochaco only recently started using her own powers and was flying blind until she met Rolls, and wouldn't be able to give any meaningful advice to Eri. This causes the two of them, along with Izumi and Durandal, to realize there is a ''fourth'' Sematick HalfHumanHybrid at UA, this one having been under their noses the entire time and never revealing themselves to anyone aside from Eri.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Ochaco is normally very sweet, kind, and gentle, being a source of comfort for Izumi and an overall nice person. So it's a shock to ''everyone'' when she goes ''berserk'' at times, becoming filled with murderous anger whenever someone gains her hatred. Prime example being at the USJ upon learning Argonaut killed Anan, her idol, prompting her to throw the ship her group had landed on at him, it made clear that doing so would have ''killed'' Argonaut [[ActuallyADoombot were he not a Terminator instead]]. Taken even further with the implication she somehow ''possessed'' the Nomu after it struck her, as it begins displaying ''emotion'', namely rage, anger, and hatred when looking at Tomura and Kurogiri, causing it to ignore it's pre-programmed orders to ''protect'' them in favor of trying to ''kill'' them.
* TraumaButton: Ochaco has a minor one regarding Paxton's robots as a result of her parents being killed by them. While in most cases she can push forward and fight back against them like at the Entrance Exam, the "Titan"/Zero Pointer pressed it hard. She notes to herself after seeing Izumi awake from a nightmare how similar it was to her own reactions. She similarly initially has mixed feelings about Durandal, being unaware he ''is'' one of Paxton's robots but noticing the resemblance and being put off as a result, but finding solidarity with him in their care for Izumi and hatred of Paxton.

* CovertPervert: Tsuyu is able to hide how horny she can be behind her stoic facade, but is a [[HaremSeeker poly seeker]] intent on getting the "Snuggle Squad" to form a polycule, her lower arms acting on her covert desires by regularly putting her hands up the others shirts.
* DisabledInTheAdaptation: {{Play|ingWithATrope}}ed with. Tsuyu possesses four arms here as a result of being in the blast radius of Mutator, a villain whose Quirk secreted a mutagenic gas that further mutated those with Mutation-class Quirks. She was pulled out before she mutated ''too'' much, but she still grew an additional set of arms, her veins took on a greenish coloration that normally requires makeup to conceal, and her hearing capabilities were increased. On it's own, this wouldn't count as a "disability", but the increased bullying brought about by FreakinessShame combined with the overall trauma has severely impacted Tsuyu mentally, giving her a complex regarding her extra limbs and leaving her liable to emotionally break down if they or something relating to Mutator is brought up. What's more, she doesn't have ''complete'' control over her arms, as they can easily react to her subconscious thoughts and require she exert direct control over them.
* NuclearMutant: Tsuyu was present the day Mutator attacked, and was caught in his gas, giving her [[MultiArmedAndDangerous an extra set of arms]], green veins she normally covers with makeup, shark teeth she normally hides behind her lips, enhanced hearing, and [[spoiler:an urge to devour flesh she has to constantly fight off]]. She ended up losing all her friends [[https://archiveofourown.org/comments/615806002 save for Habuko Mongoose]] as a result of the prejudice against her new mutations.
* TraumaButton: Anything pertaining to Mutator can easily cause her emotional distress, with her nearly suffering a panic attack after first seeing the USJ Nomu display telltale signs of being mutated by his gas. She similarly nearly breaks down upon learning of the Nomu that attacked Hosu, and can only wrap Izumi and Himiko in a hug while desperately asking how could they be affected by Mutator when he's supposed to be dead. Learning about The Therapist likewise hits her hard, forcing her to hide in her room with only Himiko allowed to be with her.

----
* AdaptationNameChange: {{Play|ingWithATrope}}ed with. Since she's ''not'' a Hero in canon, she doesn't ''have'' a Hero Name, nor does she even have a Villain Name due to preferring to go by her real name. A recurring fanon choice for a Hero Name for her though is "Carmilla". Unfortunately for Himiko, that name is already taken here, used by an Underground Hero, forcing her to use her secondary pick, "Vampire Hero: ''Drusilla''". [=META2012=] stated this was a deliberate choice so as to not simply call her "Carmilla" like many other fics.
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: Thanks to getting therapy, being taken out of her previous abusive environment, and not becoming a slave to the urges brought on by her Quirk, Himiko is a lot more mentally stable and genuinely cheerful, regularly forming a trio of [[TheGadfly gadflies]] with Mina and Toru. It ''is'' somewhat still a mask though, as [[BeneathTheMask she hides a lot of self-loathing and fear]] that she's still working through, and worries about potentially relapsing if she gets exposed to too much blood.
* AdaptationalHeroism: Thanks to seeing Dr. Isa and living in a foster home alongside Hitoshi, Himiko doesn't suffer SanitySlippage and become a villain, instead joining the Hero Course and bonding with Izumi. [[spoiler:Becomes {{play|ingWithATrope}}ed with later on, as its revealed she ''did'' snap like in canon, but attacked her ''parents'' rather than Saito, which traumatized her rather than cause her to succumb to her urges like in canon.]]
* AgeLift: Canonically, Himiko is a year ''older'' than Izumi and Ochaco. Here, she's the same age.
* HalfHumanHybrid: [[spoiler:Like Ochaco and Eri, she's half-Sematick, something she only learned after her brief death. ''Un''like them however, its unclear what subspecies she is, namely due to her powers being unheard of in other Sematicks. Himiko can only offer the insight that her parents apparently were just as prejudiced against telepathic Quirks as they were against her, with Officer Sansa later clarifying she was actually illegally adopted, her birth mother either having been used by a Heretic, or was a Sematick herself.]]
* HearingVoices: Following her [[spoiler:brief death and revival]], Himiko has been hearing people talking to her even when they actually aren't. She realizes she's hearing their ''thoughts'', managing to hear Tsuyu think to herself that [[spoiler:"Stage 1" of turning the "Snuggle Squad" into the "Snuggle Polycule" after their RelationshipUpgrade was complete]], and managing to pick up the vestiges of One For All talking to Izumi in class. This causes her and Izumi to consider that she's [[spoiler:another Sematick-hybrid like Ochaco and Rolls, something Rolls verifies, but even she is confused as to what Himiko is specifically.]]
* LockedIntoStrangeness: [[spoiler:After her head is crushed by a Nomu and regenerated, Himiko is left with some noticeable physical differences. Her hair has gone from pale blonde to blood red, her left eyes' iris has changed from yellow to blood red, and her right eye now has a purple iris, grey sclera, and a crosshair pupil akin to Mei's. {{Subverted|Trope}} after Officer Sansa does some digging, revealing said traits are identical to those of her biological mother, with her adoptive parents having her appearance altered to make it look like Himiko was their biological child, her brief death just reverting her to her natural appearance.]]
* MythologyGag: The personification of her Id is effectively her canon self, down to wanting to drain the blood of those she loves so she can ''become'' them, and considers the current Himiko to be nothing more than a mask forced on her to appear "normal" like her parents wanted. This results in a case of OtherMeAnnoysMe for Himiko, seeing her Id as a more psychotic and dangerous version of herself.
* NotQuiteDead: [[spoiler:After her head is crushed by a Nomu landing on it, Himiko was genuinely thought to have died then and there. Her head [[UnexplainedRecovery suddenly reforms itself however]], bringing her back, but not only is she now LockedIntoStrangeness, but she was left in an animal like state, attacking everything around her in a frenzy. According to Rolls, having looked into Himiko's head to see if her mind was restored too, Himiko's behavior was something ''programmed'' into her, and Himiko herself only managed to reassert control after killing the Nomu that "killed" her. She later tells Izumi she was ''entirely conscious'' even without her head, but that for all intents and purposes she ''did'' die, and was effectively a prisoner in her own body during her rampage.]]
* OutsideContextMagic: [[spoiler:Even for the Sematicks, Himiko is an anomaly. No Sematicks with her powerset have ever been documented, her subspecies can't be properly identified by either Rolls nor Fifi, and her behavior when first awakening her abilities suggested something ''programmed'' was inside of her. Not to mention her being a Dreamwalker and managing to wake up again at such a young age.]]
* SelfMadeOrphan: [[spoiler:It is eventually revealed that Himiko still snapped, though unlike in canon, the ones she attacked would be her parents. The trauma from this event would make Himiko utterly terrified at giving into her urges again. While Zaraba claims she ''murdered'' them, she actually only injured them, and wasn't held accountable due to it stemming from a psychotic break at the hands of their abuse.]]
* ShedTheFamilyName: Himiko has no lost love for her parents after their {{abusive|Parents}} treatment of her, and has completely shed the "Toga" name by time she became Hitoshi's foster sister.
* UnexplainedRecovery: After [[spoiler:Himiko's head is crushed by a Nomu, it ends up regenerating using both her own remains ''and'' that of the man who had controlled the Nomu, restoring her head [[LockedIntoStrangeness albeit with some differences]].]] This is PlayedForDrama in that no one else present can understand ''how'' this happened, and are understandably concerned since they had just watched [[spoiler:her ''die'', only to come back before their eyes]] and in an animalistic state, Izumi and Rolls in particular questioning what the hell just happened. [[spoiler:It's later explained to likely be one of her, at the time unknown to her, Sematick abilities.]]
* UnrelatedInTheAdaptation: The Toga family is [[spoiler:''not'' her biological family here, rather they ''bought'' her after her biological mother disappeared shortly after her birth. Himiko's resemblance to them was due to their taking her to a specialist that altered her appearance to more closely resemble theirs.]]

----
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: A {{downplayed|Trope}} case, as while Momo still suffers from a bit of HeroicSelfDeprecation, its much less than her canon issues, giving her a bit more self confidence overall. It's later revealed to be because her HonoraryUncle, [[VideoGame/LikeADragon Goro Majima]], found out about her issues earlier and decided to help her move past them... in the craziest way possible via his "Majima everywhere" antics and TrainingFromHell. Dealing with him has also left her more used to the crazy antics of others, making her quickly prepared to deal with the eccentricities of those like Inasa.
* AdaptationalBadass: In addition to her "Creation" Quirk, Momo possesses a cybernetic implant called a "nano-core", which gives her control over {{nanomachines}} that can reinforce her skin and grant her shock absorption.
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: Momo's first hero costume is derived from her ''winter'' costume, cape included, but with the addition of goggles and wrist-mounted tablet instead of her waist mounted book.
* CantSpitItOut: She's been in love with Izumi and Ochaco since at least the Sports Festival, but doesn't have the courage to admit it, both because of her thinking {{polyamory}} is something more often seen in romance novels than real life, and fearing her [[BoyfriendBlockingDad father]] will scare them off. She slowly begins moving past the former point, particularly after having a RelationshipUpgrade with Nejire, but still doesn't want to rush things so as to be considerate to them.
* CovertPervert: Momo is a Grade A smut writer, secretly writing stories under the name "[=RavenQueen=]" either involving her SelfInsert in relationships with attractive women, or [[YaoiFangirl passionate boys-love]], all of which using thinly veiled {{exp|y}}ies of her classmates.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: She still suffers from this, even if not to the same extent as canon. [[spoiler:Her "DarkSecret" that Zaraba reveals being that she thinks her family bought her recommendation spot at U.A., and that she's only there because of her family's money.]]
* RichInDollarsPoorInSense: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. Momo is far from senseless, but she's more than a bit out of tune in regards to what is considered "normal" for someone as rich as she is compared to people with much less money. Case in point, she had a "nano-core" cybernetic enhancement implanted into her ''on a whim'', with Izumi pointing out the price of such an item being roughly equal to ''several'' round trip tickets between Japan and the moon, her father Hisashi barely being able to afford ''one'' after several ''years'' of work, whereas Momo mistakenly considered the price for one such ticket the equivalent of ''pocket change''.
-->'''[[DeadpanSnarker Kyoka]]:''' She lives in a world we can barely even fathom.
* RightForTheWrongReasons: When first meeting Izumi and Durandal, Momo wonders how Izumi managed to get her hands on a robot with a positronic brain, when they're so hard to come by. She quickly remembers reading about how Aris Enterprises had a short lived program to give those who tried and failed to commit suicide emotional support robots with positronic brains, but said program shut down after only a few months with only one registered person ever getting a robot, leading her to quickly conclude ''Izumi'' was that person. While she ''is'' right Izumi tried and failed to kill herself, she ''found'' Durandal while cleaning Takoba Municipal Beach, he was created by Paxton making him a product of ''Avalon'' Enterprises, and very few people knew of Durandal's existence before that point outside of Paxton himself, the Midoriya family, and the staff of UA.

----
* AscendedExtra: Canonically, Nejire was the member of the "Big 3" that received the ''least'' attention, her backstory not even being revealed until the ''final'' arc of the series. Here, she's the one with the most relevance by virtue of being 1-A's teaching assistant, making her a much more frequent presence and important member of the cast, especially compared to Mirio and Tamaki who don't appear until the work studies.
* ConstantlyCurious: She asks every single question that passes through her head, and asks them so rapidly that it gives people no time to respond before she's already bombarding them with more questions. Kaina is intimately familiar with this due to having been ''her'' 1st Year Homeroom teacher too, and had been elated when she was finally freed from Nejire's questions... and then dismayed when Blossom chose her to be 1-A's assistant teacher.
* CuddleBug: Nejire turns out to be just as much as one as Ochaco, which she proves when Ochaco interns under Ryukyu and she proceeds to do to Ochaco what she always does to Izumi: be a koala that requires a crowbar to get off of her.
* CutenessProximity: Her first though upon seeing Izumi in her Alpha-R costume was "Bunny! Cute! Must hug!", before [[AndCallHimGeorge proceeding to hug her, pet her, and ask Ochaco if she can keep Izumi.]] [[ClingyJealousGirl Ochaco is not amused.]]
* DontThinkFeel: {{Parodied|Trope}}. During a training match between 1-A and the Big Three, she manages to consistently slip past Izumi's "Danger Sense", causing Hikage to think she found a means of lacking malice in her attacks. As Ochaco reveals when the match ends however, its not that, it's the fact Nejire's head was practically ''empty'' outside of thinking about a capybara sitting in a bucket of warm water, Ochaco even [[HollowSoundingHead knocking on her head]] to illustrate it. Everyone is incredulous to think she kicked their asses so easily while practically ''daydreaming''.
-->'''Nejire:''' No thoughts, head empty.
* LovableSexManiac: She openly admits to having an extremely high libido, explaining that due to her Quirk being derived from her stamina, when she trained her stamina levels to better use her Quirk, it increased her libido with it, making her perpetually horny.
* SecretKeeper: She inadvertently learns about Durandal's Quirk Emulator after he saves her from Argonaut at the USJ, and agrees to keep quiet about it after Izumi further explains and Durandal makes clear how much he loathes his creator.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Mei Hatsume]]
[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mei_hatsume_4.png]]
----
* AdaptationalBadass: Thanks to being adopted by Kaina and Snipe, Mei has been trained in various firearms and being a marksman, to the point she carries around a modified [[MagneticWeapons Rorsch railgun]] that she can use with only ironsights thanks to her "Zoom" Quirk. Taken even further after building "Isaac", giving her a suit of PoweredArmor based off Durandal's "Armoured Wolf form", with which she manages to keep pace with Izumi during the second set of matches in the third round[[spoiler:, securing not only several internship offers, but letting her dual-major in the Hero Course as "Inventor Hero: Mei-day"]].
* HappilyAdopted: While she does miss her biological mother and [[CallingParentsByTheirName calls Kaina by her name]], Mei makes perfectly clear she loves her adopted parents and siblings, and is left burying herself into her work so she doesn't have to deal with the worry she feels for them when they end up hospitalized following the USJ. [[spoiler: [[{{DownplayedTrope}} With that said]], Zaraba reveals that her DarkSecret is that she secretly wishes that her birth mother was still alive, and considers Kaina to be her "fake" mother, though it's unclear if this is a ''conscious'' or ''unconscious'' thought Mei has.]]
* NoSocialSkills: Mei still lacks any sufficient social graces like in canon, though it's implied here to be a result of being on the autism spectrum, as she admits to the others that she has trouble understanding the emotions she feels and throws herself into her work to avoid thinking about them.
* NoodleIncident:
** The reason Mei ends up living at the 1-A dorms rather than the 1-H dorms is because Higari Maijima/Power Loader doesn't want her blowing up the latter ''again''. ''How'' and ''why'' she ended up blowing up the dorms ''on the first day'' isn't elaborated.
** Mei once tried modifying the toaster and, predictably, it [[StuffBlowingUp blew up]]. All that's said is that she was banned from modifying the appliances after that.
* StuffBlowingUp: Half of the things Mei makes have a propensity to explode, to the point Higari kicked her out of the 1-H dorms on the first day because she somehow managed to blow it up. Even her ''alarm clock'' explodes, albeit this time by design, since that's the only way Mei thinks she'd be able to wake up with how deep a sleeper she can be.
* {{Workaholic}}: Mei has a ''very'' poor sleep schedule, averaging about two hours a night before joining the Snuggle Squad due to going to bed at 2am, and her alarm clock [[StuffBlowingUp exploding]] at 4am, her reasoning being that she needs as much time as possible for making her "babies". This gets {{deconstructed|Trope}} following the USJ, as her workaholic tendencies are shown to be a coping mechanism she uses to avoid dealing with her feelings, throwing herself into her work so that the people she cares for are safer, even if she doesn't fully comprehend ''why'' she feels that way, and the negative effects of her constantly denying herself sleep and emotional support are explored via the rest of the Snuggle Squad's trying to help her move out of that unhealthy mindset.

[[folder:Eri Midoriya]]
[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eri_well_dressed.png]]
----
* AdaptationalBadass:
** Alongside her Quirk, Eri also has various psionic powers, including {{telepathy}}, telekinesis, technopathy, and mind reading, ''[[OutsideContextMagic none of which are considered Quirks]]''.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Surprisingly, she can get territorial over her big sister Izumi, glaring and all but growling at Sanpā when the two both try sitting on Izumi's lap.
* DisabledInTheAdaptation: Eri had her vocal cords removed by Overhaul after he got sick of her crying. She can still communicate via her {{telepathy}}, but she is physically mute now. [[spoiler:Following the attack by Zaraba however, she gets hit with a bullet laced with Trigger, sending her Quirk into overdrive, and rewinding her throat to the point before Overhaul removed them, allowing her to speak again.]]
* HalfHumanHybrid: [[spoiler:According to Rolls, she is half "Sematick", a race of naturally psionic {{humanoid alien|s}}. More specifically, she is from a powerful but thought to be all but extinct subspecies called "Littit", with only a single known survivor: Paltheus the [[KillTheGod God Slayer]]. What Eri's connection, if any, to Paltheus is remains to be seen.]]
* HappilyAdopted: Everyone accepts that she's all but been adopted by Inko and Izumi, with Izumi gladly regarding her as her precious little sister, and Eri considering Izumi and Inko two of the most important people in her life. Once Inko manages to finalize the adoption papers, she is fully welcomed by the two as the newest Midoriya family member, with Eri completely overjoyed.
* HearingVoices: Eri's telepathy is so strong she involuntarily hears the mental voices of the people around her, and can pick up the dozens of thoughts they have. More often than not said thoughts are just standard fare, and come across to her as if she's hearing a bunch of people at once. Worst is the ''third'' kind of voice Eri hears from her, resembling more an animal than a person, covered in steel and layered in pipes.
* HiddenDepths: While she may look extremely innocent and sweet, being used as a guinea pig by Kai for so long has left her filled with a lot of anger and resentment, which she didn't even realized she had until after she'd been saved. As such, she occasionally deliberately informs others about her lack of vocal cords and reason for said loss so as to fans the flames of hatred towards Kai, hoping that ''someone'' will make him pay for what he did to her.
* {{Protectorate}}: ''Everyone'' who meets her after Inko saved her is immediately taken by how cute she is, and upon learning what Kai did to her, is all set to hunt him down and ''painfully'' end his life. Even those who would normally abhor killing are willing to do so for Eri. The tags of the fic ''do'' say "'Eri Protection Squad (My Hero Academia)', 'more like battalion at this point'".
-->'''Izumi:''' (She should really tell her to stop telling people someone removed her vocal cords to stop her from crying. The number of people onboard the Overhaul murder train was starting to get excessive. Seriously, she was considering converting the train to a ship.)

[[folder:Rolls Royce Phantom -- Redcoat]]
----
* AffectionateNickname: She tends to refer to [[spoiler:Ochaco]] as "Mariata", it made clear Rolls is being flirtatious when saying it, even if [[spoiler:Ochaco]] would rather she didn't call them that.

----
* ClosetKey: While she wasn't certain about her sexuality before, seeing Ochaco and Izumi's updated costumes causes her to confirm to herself that she's gay.
* ComboPlatterPowers: Chiharu's Quirk is, in a similar vein to Katsuki and Shoto's, a combination of her parents Quirks. "Minefield" mixes Chitose's "Landmine" with Akito's ability to place lights wherever he touched, allowing her to plant mines wherever she touched. While she initially thought her Quirk was [[WhatKindOfLamePowerIsHeartAnyway limited to a single minefield at a time, had a 1000 mine limit, and was barely worse than a cracker snap]] due to the foster home's poor training, speaking with Izumi and training under Gran Torino allowed her to discover she could not only spread out and replace her mines by continuously touching an area, but could ''overlay'' them in order to increase their explosive yield, making it a much more effective Quirk.
* DareToBeBadass: Chiharu had no intention of doing well in the Sports Festival, only participating due to not realizing the Business Course didn't have to, and only going to the third round due to partnering with Izumi, Ochaco, and Mei for the Cavalry Battle since she didn't know anyone else.
* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: By all accounts, Chiharu has every right to resent Chitose and doubt her intentions when she tries to reconnect with her, as she had abandoned her in an abusive care home and continued to ignore her for years. However, Chiharu is still attempting to go into an extremely dangerous job without consulting Chitose, as well as ignoring her calls after Chiharu was in the middle of a dangerous villain attack, calls that came from a place of extreme concern given that her father died in a similar attack. As Katsuki points out, there is no excuse for this, especially since Chitose has shown legitimate love for Chiharu numerous times in the past and present and regrets abandoning her. Katsuki calling her out was enough for Chiharu to pull a HeelRealization and give her mother another chance, even if she is still keeping her at arm's length.
* HeelRealization: Following Katsuki [[WhatTheHellHero reading her the riot act]] over not telling Chitose about her decision to be a Hero, Chiharu ends up doing some self-reflection, realizing her decision to try being a Hero was partly motivated by spite at Chitose, which isn't exactly a good reason for being a Hero, and that she had ended up repressing the memories of Chitose actually ''expressing'' love for her, as well as how much Chitose had actually been affected by Akito's death and the thought of losing Chiharu too.
As a result, Chiharu was forced to stay in a crappy foster home for most of her young life, all but said to be a secret Meta Liberation Army training center, leading to her developing resentment towards Chitose for abandoning her.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Chiharu is noted to be the spitting image of her mother, Chitose Kizuki/Curious, the only difference being that Chiharu keeps her hair shorter and straighter. Chiharu herself ''hates'' the fact she looks so much like her mother though thanks to the abandonment issues she's been plagued with thanks to Chitose's "work" keeping her busy, making her own face a reminder of how much she hates her mother.

[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/saiko_intelli.png]]
----
* AdaptationalBadass: At some point before Hosu, Saiko underwent a Quirk Awakening. In addition to increasing her intelligence after drinking tea, she now can briefly use a different ability depending on the ''type'' of tea she drinks, such as an energy shield or the ability to explode something she touched.
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: She's a lot less arrogant and haughty here compared to her canon depiction.
* AscendedExtra: In the anime, she's a CanonForeigner who only showed up for a single episode to act as the TokenMotivationalNemesis for Momo's group in the Provisional License Exam. Here, she's a supporting character and all but said to be future member of the {{poly|amory}}cule the Snuggle Squad will comprise.
* BrainsAndBondage: She is quite intelligent even without her Quirk, and shares Rolls's enjoyment of BDSM, albeit being the Dom in the relationship compared to Rolls's Sub.
* HonoraryTrueCompanion: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. She's not an honorary member of the Snuggle Squad like Rolls is ''yet'', but she's introduced to the group via Rolls and Chiharu and quickly strikes up a rapport with them, the group being entirely open to her joining them eventually.

[[folder:Isaac]]
----
* ArtificialIntelligence: Like Durandal, Isaac is in possession of an A.I. that makes her more "human". Due to Mei being unable to recreate a positronic brain however, Isaac's A.I. is only "Beta" level compared to Durandal's "Alpha", meaning she has only limited intelligence and sapience.
* EffectiveKnockoff: Isaac is, technically speaking, a knockoff version of Durandal that Mei constructed using his blueprints. While she lacks Durandal's positronic brain and Quirk Emulator, she still is an effective support for Mei in battle, even possessing her own variant of Armoured Wolf form that Mei can wear.
* GenderBlenderName: "Isaac" is traditionally a male name, whereas Isaac identifies as female.
* PaletteSwap: Since she was built using Durandal's blueprints, her body is nigh-identical to Durandal's. Whereas Durandal is silver colored though, Isaac is dark bronze.
* SatelliteCharacter: Due to only possessing a "Beta" level A.I., Isaac's sapience is limited, and she only really acts in the capacity of being Mei's emotional support RobotDog and assistant in fighting.
