* BettyAndVeronice: He is the cheating and lying selfish bastard Veronica to Elliot's sweet, selfless and kind Betty.

* YourCheatingHeart: Cheated on Angela.

The owner of Allsafe and employer of Elliot and Angela. Notable for being one of the few pure, consistently stable characters in the series.

* BeingGoodSucks: The most benevolent character in the series who takes his responsibility to clients and employees seriously whose business and, consequently, reputation in said line of business slowly come apart around him as collateral damage to fsociety's plans. Even Elliot sounds genuinely regretfully at being party to essentially destroying Gideon. It gets worse in the second season, where the ruin of his business destroys him as a person, causes his partner to leave him, then gets him shot dead by an apparent conspiracy theorist convinced he was a "crisis actor" who helped set the whole thing up.

* StraightGay: Displays no gay mannerisms and has been told by his more effeminate partner to "come out" to people in his daily life rather than hide his identity.
* SurprisinglySuddenDeath: The man he's talking to at the bar pulls out a gun and shoots him in the last minutes of Season 2's opening.

* TraumaCongaLine: Following the end of the first season, he loses a massive sum of money, is forced to shut down Allsafe and fire all of his valued employees due to their failure to protect E Corp from the hack, is divorced by his husband, and finally gets shot dead in a grimy bar by a conspiracy theorist who knows he's a patsy.

* BeingGoodSucks: The most benevolent character in the series who takes his responsibility to clients and employees seriously whose business and, consequently, reputation in said line of business slowly come apart around him as collateral damage to fsociety's plans. * GenreSavvy: Gets the infected server double checked even after thanking Elliot for stopping the hack and inviting him over for dinner, and is the first character to say out loud that the odd situations happening tend to revolve around Elliot's appearance and disappearance.
* HeroAntagonist: He's an upstanding, friendly man who cares about his employees, a polar opposite to the [[CorruptCorporateExecutive Corrupt Corporate Executives]] plaguing E Corp, and generally the purest character on the show. However, his GenreSavvy suspicion regarding the hacks and the countermeasures he eventually puts in place cause a number of problems for Elliot and Fsociety.

* HateSink: Ask any fan of the show who the worst character is, and you will most likely be told it's Ollie. Redditors frequently post "r/fuckollie" on the show's subreddit, and it has reached MemeticMutation levels.

* ItsAllAboutMe: Constantly, and one of many reasons [[spoiler: Angela finally dumps him.]]
* KickTheDog: For his only appearance in Season 2, he tries to [[spoiler: trick Angela into incriminating herself on tape, so he can offer her up to the FBI and save himself from prosecution for the Allsafe breach.]]

* DroppedABridgeOnHim: [[spoiler: Unceremoniously shot in the neck in the second episode of season 2.]]

* AFatherToHisMen: Non-military example. He genuinely cares about Elliot, and asks Angela to consider the consequences of her actions on her coworkers and their families when she tells him [[spoiler:she's confessing to breaking chain of custody with E Corp in order to get Terry Colby to admit E Corp was responsible for her mother's death.]]

* ItsAllMyFault: Tells Tyrell about [[spoiler:Angela breaking chain of custody with E Corp]], says he will accept full responsibility for the lapse, and takes personal responsibility for monitoring the infected server after making it into a honeypot.
