to:

A Jock Octopus villager, though he may actually be either a squid or an Octorok.

* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: invoked Vinny referred to Inkwell (who's inspired by the Inklings from VideoGame/Splatoon) as an Octorok and accused him of plotting to take over Hyrule with Ganon after he was seen hanging out at Ganon's house. However, not long after this Ganon told Mayor Vine that he thinks Inkwell is ugly.
* InSeriesNickname: Vinny referred to Inkwell as an Octorok while he was hanging out with Ganon.

to:

A Peppy Mouse villager. Vine is convinced that she's secretly a plague rat.

* DeadlyEuphemism: Bella once said that she enjoys doing paper crafts and Vinny interpreted the phrase "doing paper crafts" as a euphemism for spreading the plague.
* YouDirtyRat: Vine accuses her of trying to spread a plague via fleas thanks to incidents involving her and Gala. After she moved away, Vinny said that she continues to try to spread the the plague from the sewers after he saw her at the Nooklings' store.

to:

A Lazy Duck villager.

* InSeriesNickname: Vinny referred to him as "fake Scoot" due to his green head. While he's roughly the same color that male mallards are in real life instead of being one of the many unusually colored villagers, the fact that his shirt covers most of his body meant that his green head was more obvious than the rest of his plumage.

to:

A Normal Pig villager.

* MessyPig: Gala has a huge flea problem, which Mayor Vine publicly broadcasts.

Added DiffLines:

* FlatCharacter: Vinny thinks that she is incredibly vapid, and she doesn't prove otherwise before she moves away.
* ItIsPronouncedTroPAY: Vinny pronounces Eloise's name in a French-sounding way when referring to her.

Added DiffLines:

!!Skye
A Normal Wolf villager.

* AffectionateNickname: Skye heard other villagers calling Mayor Vine "dumpling" and took a liking to it.

!!Harry
A Cranky Hippo villager.

* ThePigPen: Vinny imagines that Harry must be smelly and unclean, as he's an ugly hippo who lives in a house that looks like a bathroom.

!!Coco
A Normal Rabbit villager with a Gyroid-like face.

* MesACrowd: Mayor Vine once visited a bizarre dream town called "the void", which contained more than one Coco as one of its many unusual and/or unsettling traits. This was before she became a resident of Da Burbs.
* ThousandYardStare: Coco once spent a moment standing still between her Gyroids and staring when Mayor Vine was in her house. Southbird emphasized how unsettling this looked in his Mayor Vine series.

!!Curt
A Cranky Bear villager.

* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: He went on a long-winded rant trying to guilt-trip Mayor Vine after he returned to Vineland in 2015 after a long absence.

Vine's lovable secretary in both of his towns (though she seemingly doesn't recognize him in Da Burbs). Completely loyal to Vine and is all but stated to have a crush on him, for whatever reason.

* AmbiguouslyBi: He's rather obviously in love with Lolly, but his obsession with Scoot is heavily implied to be romantic/sexual in nature (see: the ADateWithRosiePalms box of tissues in the Scoot Room). Helps that Scoot himself is AmbiguouslyGay.
* AxCrazy: Tends to make extraordinarily violent threats towards others, and eventually obtains an axe (and almost immediately tries to kill Scoot with it).
* BerserkButton: Blocking the view in front of his house, which Cherry ends up continuously pressing. [[spoiler:It's the reason she's made to leave, despite being a genuinely nice person.]]
* BunnyEarsLawyer: At his best, he manages to run the town competently despite his issues.
* ButtMonkey: Nothing seems to go right for him.
* DidNotGetTheGirl: Despite his best efforts, Lolly ends up moving out of Vineland.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Within a day of arriving at Vineland, he's both stung by bees and bit by a mosquito.
* IJustWantToBeYou: His obsession with Scoot eventually develops into this, thinking that imitating the him exactly will cause him to befriend him.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He plans the location of the town's bridges based on proximity to his own house.
* MayorPain: Tends to cause more grief than good towards Vineland/Da Burbs, not that the villagers seem to mind too much.
* PermanentlyElectedOfficial: Due to the way New Leaf works, he will never be fired from his job despite admittedly being awful at it.
* PetTheDog: He stopped to fulfill Katie's request for help traveling to another town when she was found wandering Da Burbs.
* StalkerWithACrush: Towards Scoot. (It's implied that Scoot is terrified of his advances, and for good reason.) Despite this, he's willing to try and kill him with an axe.
* UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist: He's both a Jerkass and a ButtMonkey.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: Early on, he amasses a collection of skirts. He doesn't wear them for long, however.
* VagueAge: Isabelle mentioned his youth when contrasting him from the town's old mayor, Tortimer, though it's not clear exactly how old he is.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: His face changed a bit between the move from Vineland to Da Burbs. For example, his eyes are no longer tired-looking.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair:
** After Shampoodle was built in Vineland, he got a haircut and ended up with pointy, light purple hair. Vinny wasn't pleased with the result and later got another haircut.
** In Da Burbs, he instead got pointy, light green hair, which Vinny wasn't fond of and preferred to keep covered with a hat.

* BigEater: Vine often mocks him for this.
* SitcomArchNemesis: Despite being friendly towards Vine, his tendency to call him "pudgy" makes him the target of some of his most extreme threats. (That said, this eventually subsides.)
--> "When this is over, you won't have a family to put the pieces back together. Die. :)"
* YouAreFat: The reason Vine initially despises him is because his catchphrase is initially "pudgy" (though Vinny eventually sets it to "fatty" to emphasize his dislike for it).

Added DiffLines:

A Cranky Pig villager who moved into Da Burbs thanks to the titular feature of the Welcome Amiibo update. While obviously toned down from his inspiration, he's still noticeably jerkish.

* Jerkass: Noticeably, he once called Inkwell ugly while he was visiting.
* TookALevelInKindness: Downplayed - he went from the BigBad of the entire Zelda franchise to a mere Jerkass in Animal Crossing.
