* BetaCouple: If the player buys the premium options, the Beta Couples are Horatio/Tara, Cole/Amir, and in Book 2, Sereena/Aiyana, next to Dani, Mark, Ben and Leah. In Book 2, Brooke and Keo become quickly this, since their romance [[spoiler:and sudden marriage]] solves in less than three chapters.

* NaiveNewcomer: Averted. On her first day in San Francisco, she already established her place in [=ClickIt=], got a date with a random guy and integrated perfectly with Mark's friends.

* ShipperOnDeck: Throughout the story, Dani can work to get two of her coworkers, Felix and Isabel together. Making the right choices pays off in book 1 chapter 17 when they attend the party together.
* RageQuit: In the Finale of Book 1, Dani quits [=ClickIt=] on the spot after Martin announced that he plans to change the [=LoveHacks=]'s tone into a more mean spirited click bait and TJ would be creative consultant.

* AchievementsInIgnorance: He created "Dopey Cat" out of boredom during his sophomore year in college. By Book 2, the game became so viral that three App Companies are trying to negotiate with him insane offers to buy his rights over the game and Mark still didn't have a clue on what the emails were about until his friends told him.

* CreatureOfHabit: His friends, especially Cole and Dani, know Mark so well that they can predict his usual coping methods, to the point Cole is able to classify them as "Pattern Levels". One of those Patterns include a Space Jam marathon.

* EndearinglyDorky: He is a tech-guy who likes Film/SpaceJam, and during college he created an app game named "Dopey Cat". When the gang meets Ben, they note that he and Mark are equally dorky.

* GreenEyedMonster: In book 1 chapter 13, Mark does some sarcastic comments on when is Dani planning to tell Ben that he was one of the "Clickbait material fodders". Mark only apologizes when he realizes that Dani got angry at him.
** In Book 2 Chapter 10 he admits to Ben in a premium scene that he is jealous that Ben either has Dani's affections, has an awesome career, is getting more friendly with Cole or fitted perfectly with the gang in short time. They get over this after clearing the air.
* HeroicBSOD: Mark goes through quite a few of these that Cole has described them in Patterns. Pattern 1 is just him being normal. Pattern 3 is when he goes to a quiet space to think about things. Pattern 7 has him just marathoning Film/SpaceJam all day. Pattern 9 is him playing racquetball.

* RelationshipRevolvingDoor: According to the others, Amy and him have been in this dynamic for years, until he decided to dump her for good.
* RidiculouslyAverageGuy: He is one of hundreds of Techie-White Guys in San Francisco. Other than a few quirks (or "patterns", as Cole refers to his coping customs), there's nothing more about Mark other than he is good looking, is Dani's Best Friend and had a rocky relationship with his girlfriend.

* ButNotTooBi: Despite that he flirts with either gender, Cole is seen mostly working on men. When looking for Mark in book 1 chapter 3, he gets better results with Nikhil. And in book 1 Chapter 14, the player can pay to have him date Amir Hakimi.

* IHaveManyNames: One of his favorite stratgies when pitching for clients is pose as other people. His favorite alter ego is “Hidalgo St. Pierre”.

* AllWomenAreLustful: During her vows, Brooke has the option of openly saying in front of her friends that what she likes the most about Keo is that he is excellent in bed. She later shows that she has a Firefighter fetish, when the special delivery for their honeymoon turns out to be Keo’s work uniform. It appears again during a Premium flashback, when a drunken Cole appears late in the girls apartment, where Keo is there in his firefighter uniform.
* AllAmazonsWantHercules: She's a Gym Instructor DudeMagnet who gets obsessed with Keo, [[FiremenAreHot a firefighter who "rescued" them]]. Suddenly she decides to elope with him in Las Vegas, after only dating for ''less than two weeks''. The gang observe that, for once, Brooke fell into another person’s “Sphere of Prettiness”

* DatePeepers: She is the one who convinces Cole, Sereena and Keo to tag along with her and make sure Leah doesn't fall for Camilla's charm.

* OutOfFocus: She is noticeable absent from Book 2 Chapter 10 because she's still on her Honeymoon.

* SoBeautifulItsACurse: Subverted. She isn't aware that people was nice to her just for her looks until the gang points it out for her, and she considers it to be the case just because she wants to prove her friends wrong. The only one immune to it is [[TheCynic Sereena]].

* BelligerentSexualTension: She starts to take interest in the Environmental Studies 101 professor Aiyana Midthunder when she didn't bat an eyelash to give her a classy burn in front of a entire class.

* GoThroughMe: Book 2 chapter 6 has Sereena jumping in front of a bulldozer to keep it from demolishing trees that are a nesting ground for owls.

* OutOfFocus: She is noticeable absent from Book 2 Chapter 10.
* SoapboxSadie: She is often protesting for diverse causes, mostly about patriarchy and mainstream trends. The only reason she got addicted to Pictagram was because she discovered that the hashtags could be used to raise awareness for her favorite causes.
* StraightGay: Sereena's orientation is only known because Amy offhandedly said that she and her coworker should be together just because they are both lesbians. Played straight in book 2 if you have her seek a relation with Aiyana.
* StrawFeminist: Sereena is oftenly complaining about "Patriarchy" and other feminism related topics.

* ClarkKentOutfit: Book 1 chapter 10 has Horatio casually racking a 200 lb barbell while the weights are still on. He attributes it to lifting beer crates regularly.
* {{Hipster}}: His main characteristic, since he is always complaining about trends and praising traditional arts and crafts.
* IfYouEverDoAnythingToHurtHer: Book 1 chapter 17 has Horatio talking to Ben about his relationship with Dani. One option is to have him threaten him if Ben does hurt Dani, then swing back to being chill.

* RichInDollarsPoorInSense: If Cole and Amir go to the company party, they con Martin effortlessly by pitching him a fake business proposal (which they can’t even remember in the end), in exchange of all his business contacts or two thousand dollars.
* SexistUsedCarSalesman: Since [=ClickIt=] is mostly composed of male workstaff (with Isabel as the only female), he hired Dani so he could start boasting about gender equality at work.
** In the Book 1 Finale, he announces that he is going to change the tone of [=LoveHacks=] into a mean spirited, sensationalist clickbait, regardless if they are supposed to attract more female readers.
** Only to declare war at Dani and Leah's blog, he creates also a Lifestyle Blog named "Femme Fatale" to pander to women, and apparently it works.

* {{Jerkass}}: He is mysoginistic, has a big ego and doesn't have restraints, to the point he drunkenly stalked Dani to her apartment, trying to ask her out, and still is unapologetic about it.

* HotSauceDrinking: Of the second type, since his job is eating insanely spicy food. When trying Ghost Peppers with Dani, Ben and Isabel, Felix is the only one who can eat it with a straight face.
* TheOneGuy: If Felix and Isabel get hired by Dani and Leah, he will be the only guy in the team.

* TokenGoodTeammate: Without counting the only two women in the staff, he is the only shown decent guy working at [=ClickIt=].

* CompetitionFreak: If Dani is trying to fix her and Felix up, the best strategy is to set up a date with Felix under the disguise of a challenge. It only works if Felix talks in the right moments.

* EvilRedhead: Amy is caustic, mean spirited, jealous and clingy, and also has bright red hair. She doesn't realize how horrid can be to others.

* SassyBlackWoman: In her first moment at [=ClickIt=], she wasted no time into snarking at Martin and TJ, and gets impressed by Dani's spunky attitude.

Initially introduced as "The Geek Guy" for Dani's "Ten Guys you date in your 20s", Ben showed that he's a lot more than Dani expected.
* AsianAndNerdy: While he isn't the nerd stereotype entirely, he illustrates comics for a living, was a break dancer and baseball player in highschool and is good with dance games.

* GreenEyedMonster: In Book 2 Chapter 10, he reveals during a foosball practice with Mark that he feels that he's still in Mark's shadow and can't be as reliable and cool like him inside the group.
* NerdsAreSexy: He is a complete nerdy comic book geek who happens to be ridiculously handsome, athletic and cool overall.

* UnderstandingBoyfriend: While he still gets hurt by discovering about the 10 Guys article, Ben is willing to give Dani a chance. After he finds out in Book 2 that Mark is also in love with Dani, he offers to wait for her to decide, since he understands that she and Mark have already a long history.

* BigEater: She is usually seen talking about food in her scenes, since she loves cheese, "Cheetah Cakes" and any sweet treats. If she and Horatio stay together, in Book 2 she supports Horatio at his new gig at the sports bar by eating there the sliders and shakes with a pouty face. She appears at the Longhorn Saloon to google Country-style phrases for him while drinking from the bar.

* OppositesAttract: If Horatio goes on a date with her, he discovers that she likes everything he hates as a {{hipster}}: processed sugar and mass production snacks. Still, both decide to give a chance to each other's favorite things.
* OptionalPartyMember: In book 1 chapter 17, only if the player paid for Horatio to ask her out, they will attend the [=ClickIt=] boat party. Afterwards in Book 2, she appears in all of Horatio's temporary jobs to support him.

* SweetTooth: To [[{{Hipster}} Horatio's]] dismay, her favorite snacks are "Cheetah Cakes", which are cheetah printed roll cakes filled with candy sprinkles. If they attend the [=ClickIt=] party, she gives him Oreos.

* BirdsOfAFeather: He and Cole try to outsmart the other. After testing Cole's talent, he admits that he was attracted to him and was inspired to get in the business. After hooking up, they also discuss who of them gets to be Beyoncé.

* TheRival: Cole initially establishes Amir as his direct competition. After they go on a date, they decide to be partners in a lot of ways.
* SharpDressedMan: He is always very elegant, since he also works as a business pitcher.

* AllMenArePerverts: Averted. Despite Brooke being obviously attracted to him, he doesn't take advantage, but still finds her cute. Then played with, as he even indulges into Brooke’s Firefighter fetish.
* AmazonChaser: One of the things Keo likes from Brooke is her energy. He gets very proud when she flips a full table in a restaurant.

* FaceOfAThug: After Cole, Horatio and Dani see him in the backalley intimidating a guy, the whole gang (except for Brooke) start thinking that he might be a gangbanger after a series of clues.

* NiceGuy: He is cool and good natured. After the whole misunderstanding, he forgives the group easier than Brooke, who needed more convincing to move on from the incident. He is so nice that he can't throw shade at Camilla along with his wife and friends.
* RedBaron: He is known as "Razor" between the bikers.

* BelligerentSexualTension: Sereena developes a crush on her after she replied her cynicism with a cool attitude and witty arguments.

* HotTeacher: Sereena notes that she's easy on the eyes, very smart and a stern teacher.
* LipstickLesbian: If Sereena goes to her radio show, they start talking about worst dates, she recalls that the girl she went out kept her waiting until she finished meditation. She later exchanges numbers with Sereena to hang out.

* TheBartender: She turns shift with Horatio at The Double Tap and is working there full-time.

* AloofBigBrother: Subverted. He and Mark clearly love each other, but Mark is reluctant to have him in his life because of his drifting personality and that he tends to mooch from him every time he's in town. On the other hand, Isaac thinks Mark doesn't trust him with important jobs, which reinforces his own insecurities and is aware that people constantly compare him to Mark's achievements.
* TheUnfavorite: Mark and Cole accidentally hear his phone conversation with their mother, in which Isaac is still trying to convince her that he has found his own path and isn't bugging Mark.

* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: Subverted. Leah and Andi adore each other, and has to keep reminding her to tone down her sass, which is easier said than done.

* PrecociousCrush: After she had enough with her last crush, she develops one on Horatio.
* SassyBlackWoman: At age 15 she is too sassy for Leah to control. She is capable of giving a very awesome burn to Camilla and make her leave. This inspires Ben to design his comic book heroine after her.
* TagAlongKid: She becomes this whenever she's near Dani, Leah and the gang. The gang can only have mocktails with her.

* GymBunny: He is obsessed with fitness, to the point he brings his own protein shakes, counts every carb people eat and gets judgemental about what others do.

* MoodKiller: In Book 2, Brooke calls him to ruin Leah and Camilla's dinner and it actually works, because the first thing he does is lecturing them about their salads.

* {{Jerkass}}: During his first date with Dani, he returned his meal three times to the kitchen, chewed with his mouth open, kept talking about his ex-girlfriend and, on top of that, Dani can mention that the worst part was that he kept hitting on other girls during the date, never took the check or dressed like a moron.
* JerkassRealization: By the end of the date, Ray tells Dani that her article made him realize that he had been annoying during the first day, so he had been going to yoga classes to learn deal with himself. In Book 2, he also realizes that he loves Country after giving it a shot, becoming a regular at the bar.

* UpperClassTwit: He kept boasting about his knowledge on wine. By the time they encounter him again in Book 2, he still is a pompous prick.

* ExtremeDoormat: Apparently in Book 2, he begged his girlfriend Stephanie to take him back. Then he tries to go after her if they loose the foosball game against Ben and Mark.
* InTouchWithHisFeminineSide: The guy clearly wasn't ready to move on from his ex-girlfriend, to the point he kept reciting a lot of poems and sunset memories of her in the middle of his date with Dani.

* TheStoner: He did his profile clearly high, mentioning in hobbies that he "loves baking brownies". They run into him again in ''Burning Sands'', where he's still offering brownies.

* DevelopersDesiredDate: Due to him being the only love interest to be part of the gang from the start.

* NiceHat: He is always wearing a wool hat, even for formal gatherings.

* HollywoodNerd: Subverted. Unlike all the previous guys Dani dated, Ben turns out to be handsome, funny and spontaneous, and he never fell for any of Dani's attempts to press a Berserk Button.

* BirdsOfAFeather: As noted by the gang, he and Ben are "the same kind of nerd" because of how often they make the same references and that both are in love with Dani. They even share the same insecurities about each other.

* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: If he sticks around in Book 2 as Cole’s boyfriend, he has to make sure Cole doesn’t take too many drinks.

* OptionalPartyMember: In Chapter 17, only if the player paid for Cole to date Amir, they will attend the [=ClickIt=] boat party.

* AllMenArePerverts: Averted. Despite Brooke being obviously attracted to him, he doesn't take advantage, but still finds her cute. Then played with, as he even indulges into Brooke’s Fireman fetish.
