* AdaptationalBadass: In the original ''Chain of Memories'', he only has one extra form which was more of a GetBackHere boss than a challenge. ''Re:Chain of Memories'' adds a follow-up form with instant death spells and the ability to [[InterfaceScrew attack Sora's deck directly in order to leave him momentarily powerless.]]

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: PlayedWith. He's been put in charge of Castle Oblivion, but he doesn't hold any ''true'' authority within the Organization. That said... the man is a straight-up badass. The Ultimania places him as the third-strongest member of the Organization, after Xemnas and Roxas. [[spoiler:Considering that his original human self was one of the founding Dandelions, and an ancient Keyblade master, this wholly makes sense. And unlike Xigbar, Marluxia - at least for a good long while - didn't appear to have his memories, and thus wouldn't know to pull his punches even without a Keyblade.]]

* DullSurprise: Keith Ferguson's delivery in normal speech initally seems lifeless compared to Shuichi Ikeda, until you listen closely to the latter's delivery, whereupon it becomes clear that even among his other roles like [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Char Aznable]], [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIV Lahabrea]], and [[Manga/RurouniKenshin Seijuuro Hiko]], Ikeda's voice as Marluxia's in Japanese also seems rather flat, merely masked by Ikeda's natural bombast, indicating Marluxia really does talk that flat outside of combat.

* HumongousMecha: Pilots a mecha-like Nobody with scythe arms in his second form.

* HateSink: He has absolutely no sympathetic qualities that could make him redeemable, unlike Riku, who started out as a villain but have a loved one who he strives to protect, hence his eventual redemption. While this can be attributed to a lack of screen time, Sora and Riku have no regrets letting his heart be extracted from his present self in the end.
