* TheRenfield: Not by his own will. Eros keeps him around as enforcer, (body)guard, and non-fatal [[EatTheDog emergency rations]].

* CanadaEh: She's from Winnipeg (that is, somewhere between Toronto and UsefulNotes/TheOtherRainforest), but doesn't have the VerbalTic. Has a fierce rivalry with the other Canadian, JJ, who hails from UsefulNotes/{{Quebec}}.

* ArcherArchetype: His primary attack ''Strike Inferno'' is archery-themed, much like his counterpart Sailor Mars' ''Mars Flame Sniper''. Much of Yuuri's training has been focused on emotional repression, and he's a very calculating, focused soldier who treats fighting monsters as more of a task than a game, evidenced by his exasperation at Victor's field banter. He's slenderly built, and tries to project a calm air, often thwarted by his anxiety and flares of temper.

* MultiethnicName: Irish first name, English middle name [[note]]the French version is spelled ''Violette''[[/note]], French last name.

* {{Expy}}: To Sailor Chibi Moon: A mysterious girl who shows up out of nowhere, on a mission to save her home. Chibi-Usa and Hotaru (Saturn) have a friend-version of Usagi and Mamoru's relationship (with vague hints of ToyShip), while Erin and Maaya are the {{Distaff Counterpart}}s of Victor and Yuuri. Chibi-Usa is also responsible and mature, yet fun-loving and upbeat. Maaya is a cheerful RulesLawyer.

* MellowFellow: Always happy, calm and friendly, although sometimes he does get a bit ''too'' friendly.

* CameraFiend: He loves sharing photos and videos of his daily life in Instagram and other SNS, and he especially loves to take selfies.

** To Yuuri. Yuuri is introverted, has trouble making friends, over-analyzes his performance and gets frustrated over any slip-ups. Phichit is outgoing, extremely sociable, treats his job with clear enthusiasm and isn't bothered if he makes a few mistakes.

** Speaks in a posher manner than the protagonists, with Yurio pointing out he talks like a dictionary.[[note]]For an example of his tone compared to Yuuri, see the Eros monologue in the Japanese version of episode 6. Eros sounds like the first part (beginning at "They can laugh at me all they want."). Yuuri sounds like the second part ("I'm the only one who can satisfy Victor.")[[/note]]

** At his core, he's a {{Foil}} to all of the protagonists - who are all kind, caring people - in that he's unable to form genuine connections to others (and isn't bothered by this inability), or think about anything that doesn't benefit him. He cares for nothing and no one but himself.

* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: Ashen skin, jet-black hair, blood red eyes, cold to the touch. He's an (un)dead Yuuri, at least physically.

*** He's originally from a remote world hidden to humans (Delta Pavonis) (the land of Faerie).

** The second time, karma whacked him with the full force of Adrestia. The very entity that he wanted to provoke Erin into becoming (without any real, sustainable method of controlling). Queuing right behind her and helping her is Maaya/Ayame, Victor, Yuuri, the rest of Gold-One, and ''the entirety of Earth's superpowered forces'', all of whom he had hurt, traumatized, or planned to harm.

* MindRape: He's exceedingly fond of psychological warfare, ranging from simple manipulation, victim-blaming, and gaslighting to full blown visions right out of a bad acid trip.

* RedEyesTakeWarning: Yuuri has reddish brown eyes. Eros' eyes are much, much redder, signifying his destructiveness, fire powers, and sadistic malice.

* WouldHurtAChild: Orders Victor to throttle Yurio (the youngest Agent, and not yet a legal adult), and later duels Yurio one-on-one with intent to kill. If his plans to TakeOverTheWorld had worked, this would have occured on a planetwide scale.

* LikeBrotherAndSister: Has this relationship with Victor due to [[FireForgedFriends shared trauma]]. Echoed in the backstory with Myrina and Lyan, who ups the ante for being childhood best friends and IdenticalStranger.

* {{Expy}}: To Sailor Jupiter/Makoto Kino. They’re both the sole breadwinner of their family (in Makoto’s case, it’s because she lives alone, being an orphan), a little bit more masculine/brash than their teammates (Makoto with her super-strength, Yurio being a SirSwearsALot with HairTriggerTemper) but has a softer side (Makoto still has feelings for her old [[SenpaiKohai sempai]], Yuri can occasionally be nice to Yuuri, and gets along surprisingly well with Yuuko in an IntergenerationalFriendship).

* {{Expy}}: To Sailor Jupiter/Makoto Kino. * FantasticFoxes: He shares quite a few traits with the portrayals of East Asian fox spirits.
** ''kitsune'' (Japan): He has a pointed chin (like a fox's snout), considers himself cunning, sly, and playful, assumes a human form through trickery and uses trickery/manipulation as his ''modus operandi'', has fire and other magical powers (possession, mind manipulation, dream manifestation, creation of illusions), seduces a human man by KillAndReplace of his lover, and possesses a magical crystal. Similar to yōkai not sharing human morality, Eros has no real understanding of human behavior (although he fancies he does). Men often unknowingly marry ''kitsune'' who prove to be devoted wives; Eros takes the guise of Yuuri and ''enforces'' Victor's devotion via MoreThanMindControl.
** ''gumiho'' (Korea): Makkachin starts barking furiously at him when she realizes he isn't Yuuri; dogs react violently to ''kitsune'' and ''gumiho''. ''Gumiho'' can absorb human energy via a method resembling a deep kiss/French kiss - so does Eros. Even though the ''gumiho'' is a shapeshifter, a single fox trait will remain in its altered form; Eros has RedEyesTakeWarning in both bodies. The ''gumiho'' jealously guards its true identity, Eros steals others' to keep his own secret.
** ''Hồ Tinh'' (Vietnam): This fox spirit transforms into beautiful men and women to lure people of all genders to its lair and devour them. Eros lured Victor (and later, the rest of Gold-One) and kidnapped Erin, bringing them to D-Point, to facilitate his plan of TakeOverTheWorld (devouring the world, metaphorically). The spirit was vanquished when the dragon lord of Lạc ordered his subordinates to pursue and eat the fox, wrecking its lair in the process. Victor - one of the ''de facto'' leaders of Gold-One by seniority - brought Gold-One to D-Point as backup to help defeat Eros, and Erin wrecks the lair from below.
** ''huli jing'' (China): "[The ''huli jing''] can poison men by sorcery, or possess and bewilder them, so that they lose their memory and knowledge."

* CanonCharacterAllAlong: He is the ''Eros'' persona that Yuuri portrays in the skating routine, taken UpToEleven: a woman [[note]]Eros ''technically'' does not have a gender. He uses he/him pronouns because he wears assigned-male-at-birth bodies.[[/note]] who goes from town to town seducing people and casting them away once she's bored.

** He's Yuuri's traits dialed UpToEleven, one way or another.

** To Eros, as an aversion of the VillainousAromanticAsexual trope. Eros' apparent aceness is an extension of his disgust with "human" things that he considers beneath him. He isn't villainous ''because'' he's aroace, he presents as aroace because he's villainous. Phichit is aroace and struggles with whether that makes him abnormal or broken, but he's able to form meaningful and valuable connections in his life - what Eros is incapable of - and is more happy, kind, and selfless than Eros could ever comprehend or pretend to be.

* VillainousAromanticAsexual: He isn't ''actually'' aromantic asexual, he just presents as if he is. He's incapable of forming meaningful, valuable, fulfilling non-romantic relationships with others [[note]]which the majority of aromantic people can do, without being any ''lesser'' or ''broken'' for it[[/note]], and is disgusted by what he thinks is human and therefore beneath him. As his true form is an EnergyBeing, he finds physical relationships alien and distasteful.

* MultiColoredHair: His hair is blond on top and brown on the sides. Since his eyebrows are brown, the blond part of his hair is probably dyed.

* {{Expy}}:
** To Sailor Venus/Minako Aino: fun-loving, playful, bordering on TheDitz at times, but also a leader with borderline IWorkAlone or ItsAllAboutMe tendencies. Minako Aino - in addition to sharing a first name with Minako Okukawa a. k. a. Leda, TheHandler to Eros and Nike - also has the AffectionateNickname V-chan, which sounds quite similar to ''Vicchan''. Venus has heart/love-themed attacks (Rolling Heart Vibration being one), and Victor his famous heart-shaped smile.
** To Sailor Moon/Usagi Tsukino: Not surprising, since Usagi and Minako share several characteristics. Princess Serenity (Usagi’s past life) and Victor both have silver hair and blue eyes. The Silver Crystal works according to Usagi’s heart, and Victor [[DontThinkFeel uses his powers intuitively and effortlessly.]] He also has a ReincarnationRomance with the Tuxedo Mask expy, Yuuri.
*** {{Lampshaded}} in the fic proper with repeated mentions of the moon and moonlight in intimate moments of the [[OfficialCouple Victor/Yuuri relationship.]]
** To Sailor Mercury/Ami Mizuno, with his water/ice powers and nonexistent family life. Ami has a DisappearedDad who abandoned his wife and daughter for his artistic career, Victor grew up raised by single mom Katerina. Victor eventually learned that Mikhail Nikiforov was an Agent made an UnPerson after his death.

* {{Expy}}:
** To Sailor Jupiter/Makoto Kino. They’re both the sole breadwinner of their family (in Makoto’s case, it’s because she lives alone, being an orphan), a little bit more masculine/brash than their teammates (Makoto with her super-strength, Yurio being a SirSwearsALot with HairTriggerTemper) but has a softer side (Makoto still has feelings for her old [[SempaiKouhai sempai]], Yuri can occasionally be nice to Yuuri, and gets along surprisingly well with Yuuko in an IntergenerationalFriendship).

** To Sailor Galaxia. Both characters are not from Earth, consider themselves superior to others, deem lesser beings only fit to crush under their heels, serve a supernatural, incorporeal entity, are power-hungry, and has brief redeeming moments only to reject redemption. The scene where Victor kisses Eros' boot, hand, gem, and lips was lifted straight from the manga, where a ReforgedIntoAMinion Tuxedo Mask does the same to Galaxia. Unlike both of the previous villains that takes Tux on as a minion (Queen Beryl and Black Lady), Galaxia doesn't actually have any emotional attachment to Mamoru. Eros flat out informs Victor that he's easily replaceable.
** To [[Series/PrettyGuardianSailorMoon Princess Sailor Moon.]] A KnightOfCerebus with a physical resemblance to the protagonist. Ruthless, cold, willing to destroy the planet if their beloved was taken away from them. The only thing that sets them apart is that the Princess actually loves her Prince. Eros loves no one but himself and his schemes.
** To [[Film/SpiderManFarFromHome Mysterio]]. [[spoiler:An AffablyEvil caped master of illusion, psychological games, and gaslighting/victim blaming, with a tendency towards the dramatic. Eros' psychic torture of Victor resembles the ''Far From Home'' scene in which Mysterio torments Peter Parker. Quentin Beck's story of being a superpowered soldier whose planet was destroyed by Elementals is echoed in Eros and Yuuri's backgrounds. Eros came to Earth as his homeworld, Delta Pavonis, is on the verge of total destruction. Yuuri's job and calling is to protect the Earth from monsters, and his death set off a chain of events that nearly destroyed Earth. Both Eros and Yuuri are superpowered soldiers. Gold-One has elemental powers: fire, ice, electricity, earth, and light. "Eros" and "Mysterio" are names coined/owned by other people that the characters took up.]]

* {{Expy}}:
** To Sailor Saturn, the Soldier of Destruction. She's fought over by two factions, one wanting to kill her before she accidentally ends the universe, the other wants to save her and train her to control her powers. Her middle name is Violet, a shade of purple, which is Saturn's primary color. She's an anomaly from the rest of the Agency, having had her powers (forcibly) manifest in adulthood rather than after a rigorous period of training as children/preteens. Just as Saturn never should have been awakened, Erin should have never gone Active - except some aliens decided they wanted to resettle on Earth.
** To [[Film/Deadpool2016 Deadpool]]. Canadian, snarky, incapable of shutting up even when it would threaten their lives, highly destructive, cope with emotional trauma via an aggressive facade and jokes, have their powers manifest via torture from an AffablyEvil villain with a henchman as their muscle.
** Erin's past counterpart, Myrina Aretia, is a good version of Beryl. In [[Theatre/SeraMyu ''La Reconquista'']], Beryl is shown as an armored warrior and actively swordfights in the battle on the Moon. Beryl watched on as Serenity and Endymion fell in love, resents the Moon Princess for this (on top of Serenity being a foreigner and alien), and uses MindControl to take Mamoru (Endymion's reincarnation) for herself. Myrina is platonically devoted to Lyan (as a childhood friend and borderline twin brother), is wary of Aenar because he's a foreigner and enemy, and protects Victor (Lyan's reincarnation) from Eros' MindControl. She still has an uneasy relationship with Yuuri (Aenar's reincarnation) but they eventually agree to bury the hatchet for the sake of Victor, their mutual concern.

* {{Megane}}: He's near-sighted and occasionally uses glasses.

* {{Expy}}:
** He is this mainly to Sailor Mars/Rei Hino, with their RavenHairIvorySkin, femininity, general air of mystery, and fire powers. Yuuri has SingleTargetSexuality for Victor (demiromantic/demisexual, most likely, and sex-repulsed). Rei acknowledges in the manga that she has an aversion to men and has pledged herself to devote her heart to Sailor Moon.
** He's also similar to Sailor Mercury/Ami Mizuno, being a {{Megane}} with few friends (and none who aren't connected to the Agency).
** Comparisons can also be made to Tuxedo Mask/Mamoru Chiba. Their color schemes are the same (black, white, red). Early in the manga's run (and repeatedly in the 90s anime), a non-powered Tux throws a single red rose to distract villains, and Yuuri's Guardian Gem is the Red Rose. When he eventually gains them, Mamoru's solo attacks are incendiary-themed: Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber and Tuxedo Duel Cross Bomber. Mamoru is shown healing himself from a wound incurred during sports in the manga, and Eros healed Erin's hands.[[note]]Granted, ''he'' broke her hands in the first place. He also did a half-assed job of healing so that she may never be able to play the piano again.[[/note]] Both of them undergo a state of being BrainwashedAndCrazy and ReforgedIntoAMinion, ending in ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice by their respective ReincarnationRomance lovers and LiterallyShatteredLives. Both harbor an inferiority complex regarding their more-powerful partner.

* ShoutOut: His heroic costume is based on Creator/YuzuruHanyu's ''Otoñal 2.0'' program, and the EvilCostumeSwitch on the ''Notte Stellata'' program.

* ShoutOut: His costume is partially based on the [[https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EOKOY0BXsAA7JYj.jpg "Origin 1.0"]] costume of Creator/YuzuruHanyu. To a greater extent, "Origin" also inspired Eros' characterization.

* {{Adorkable}}: Particularly due to his ShipperOnDeck tendencies and perpetually happy attitude.

** "Erin" is the name of the personification of Ireland. She comes from an Irish family. No one ever said the luck of the Irish is ''good luck'' - Erin's power is chaotic luck UpToEleven.

** He feeds on LifeEnergy via kissing. Victor serves as his right hand and main food source. This energy gives him a HealingFactor.

** He's capable of MindControl with a CompellingVoice, both vocally and mentally.

* WalkingSpoiler: Not to fans familiar with the Sailor Moon canon and therefore may cotton on that Yuuri is a close counterpart of Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask before Eros shows up in the plot. To everyone else, however, he is.

*** The brollachan cannot remain in a single host for long. Its intensity means that its host will wither after a few days and it will need to find a new one, often by using the dying host to lure a sympathetic or predatory creature close. Eros doesn't seem to wear out his host body, but he does use Yuuri's physical resemblance and memories to lure Victor in, and later uses Victor as bait to lure Gold-One in (as well as to play the GoodCopBadCop routine for Erin).

*** Victor and Yuuri's relationship is built on the foundations of a consensual, nonsexual [[UsefulNotes/{{BDSM}}]] bond and mutual respect. Eros, while keeping it nonsexual, tramples over concepts that he considers beneath him such as ''free will''. He deliberately exploits elements of Victor/Yuuri's dynamic (both kinky and vanilla) to ruin them, taking intimate, caring moments and forcing an association with fear and trauma.

* CasualKink: His relationship with Victor has shades of BDSM. Eros took it way past the level of SafeSaneAndConsensual.

** As Eros, he is this mainly to Sailor Mars/Rei Hino, with their RavenHairIvorySkin, femininity, general air of mystery, and fire powers. Yuuri has SingleTargetSexuality for Victor (demiromantic/demisexual, most likely).
