* Hypocrite: Mahito believes himself to be a superior being to humanity and that this justifies his horrific cruelty towards them, yet ''almost all of his techniques'' are reliant on having his mutated human slaves do all the heavy lifting for him. This Geto is actually an impostor named Kenjaku who used his Cursed Technique to transplant his brain into the body of the real Suguru Geto, who died during the events of Volume 0. Joining forces with the Disaster Curses at the beginning of the story, he uses them to accelerate his plan of bringing out humanity's potential in using cursed energy and ushering in a new era of jujutsu sorcery. \\\

Both are long-lived {{Evilutionary Biologist}}s that use the resident malignant energies (madness and insanity/negative emotions) of their universe for their unethical experiments and granidose plans, one of which involves the birth of a major character (Crona/[[Spoiler:Yuji]]), another involving unleashing a powerful malevolent entity into the world for their schemes (Asura/Sukuna), and [[BodySurf stealing bodies]] when the situation calls for it.

* CaptainErsatz: To Medusa from ''Manga/SoulEater''. Both are long-lived {{Evilutionary Biologist}}s that use the resident malignant energies (madness and insanity/negative emotions) of their universe for their unethical experiments and granidose plans, one of which involves the birth of a major character (Crona/Yuji), another involving unleashing a powerful malevolent entity into the world for their schemes (Asura/Sukuna), and [[BodySurf stealing bodies]] when the situation calls for it.

%%* ArchEnemy: He and Yuji weren't on friendly terms to begin with. But after he obliterates Shibuya and gets thousands of innocent people killed in the process. Yuji's acrimony towards towards Sukuna turns into outright hatred, and sweears that he'll die before he ever lets the Curse take control again.

* ComboPlatterPowers: He has Blood Manipulation like the Kamo family. The main drawback of this ability is the user's naturally very limited amount of blood, which typically requires them to harvest blood over time and carry it around on bags. Choso has no such issue because he is half curse and can thus can convert cursed energy into blood, enabling incredibly agressive moves using huge amounts of blood that the Kamos couldn't even dream off. All of his blood is also poisonous on contact with humans due to his half-Curse half-human body's blood causing rejection symptoms in the victim.

* DramaticIrony: He swears to murder Yuji and Yuji are [[spoiler: actually brothers, as Kenjaku is actually Yuji's mother ]].

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: He is softer and more emotive with his siblings, even asking [[spoiler:Yuji]] to call him "Onii-Chan", which is incredibly cutesy and childish. Additionally, despite his regular stoic demeanor he completely looses it and goes into a rage when his family or siblings are in game. [[spoiler: Learning that "Geto" is actually Noritoshi Kamo makes him fly into an UnstoppableRage, and Naoya having disparaging words about siblinghood prompts Choso to give a deeper speech about his thoughts on the matter as he nearly murders Naoya. Later on, Yuji calling him "Aniki" also makes him gasp in glee as it means Yuji is recognizing him as his older brother, at least on some level.]]

* SupernaturalPhone: Nanako uses her cell phone as part of her cursed technique, with it's power seemingly used to capture people within the phone's camera as a sort of PocketDimension. She defensively uses the technique to protect herself and Mimiko from Jogo's fire blast after they encounter him, and she is later seen attempting to trap [[spoiler:Sukuna]] within the camera, but that doesn't work out as well for her.

* EvilVirtues: Despite being villains, all three brothers have an unyielding love for each other. [[spoiler:This deeply shakes Yuji after Eso and Kechizu's deaths, as it is a sobering reminder of just how human his enemies can be.]]

* BerserkButton: Insulting his brothers.

* DramaticIrony: It seems like Yuji and him are [[spoiler: actually brothers in some way, seeing as Kamo is heavily implied to be involved in Yuji coming into the world.]]

* OlderIsBetter: He has a number of ancient curses who are still rather potent in spite of scientific progress curbing the fears that spawned them. These include the Smallpox Curse, which despite the disease associated with it being all but neutralized by modern medicine, still has immense amounts of physical strength to see it through battles.

* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: As beings who exist between the boundary of Curses and humans, the Death Paintings are comfortable picking either "side" or none at all with the way they view themselves. Choso, after some thought, decides to ally their group with Geto as he believes it would be the most beneficial to him and his brothers in the long run. Not only does this choice [[spoiler:indirectly results in Eso & Kechizu]] but it results in Choso unwittingly helping [[spoiler:Noritoshi Kamo]], the sworn enemy of his entire family.

** [[spoiler:Upon revealing the extent of his plans to Yuki Tsukumo, the insane amount of machinations required to pull it off becomes apparent, having been working on his schemes for over 1000 years. He has been making binding vows with hundreds of sorcerers over the years to trap them within cursed objects that he has fed to 500 people throughout Japan, and has also sought out 500 people who possess latent cursed techniques but no cursed energy to use them, marking both groups with his energy. The full details of his Cursed Technique are still unknown, but similar to the weapons wielded by his mythological inspiration from the ''Nihon Shoki'', it gives him two different ways of cutting things and a fiery arrow.

* EvilIsPetty: [[{{Jerkass}} Near constantly]], He grimaces after accidentally regenerating Yuji's severed hand to block a Curses' attack, not having intended to help Yuji at all.

* IdenticalStranger: He looks eerily like Yuji, save for his hair and black markings around his body. What ''seems'' to have been Sukuna's original body when Gojo explains who the Curse is to Yuji doesn't look too far from his current self except far more demonic-looking.

* WildCard: Although firmly an antagonist, Sukuna is unpredictable to everyone, even those who want to ally with him. The Shibuya Incident demonstrates this clearly. [[spoiler:He butchers Nanako and Mimiko, two sorcerers allied with Geto, on a whim, despite the two giving him control of Yuji's body. He kills Jogo, the strongest of the Special Grade Curses, for sport, and then rescues Megumi from his last-ditch move of summoning Mahoraga. These actions greatly aid Yuji's side. However, he intentionally endangers several sorcerers near his fight, allows Jogo to cause massive collateral damage with his attacks, and beats Mahoraga by using his Domain Expansion to ''obliterate'' most of Shibuya. He then returns control to Yuji as he's standing in front of the devastation, just to [[KickTheDog torment him]]. All sides of the conflict come out worse for wear because of his actions]].
* WorldsStrongestMan: The strongest Cursed Spirit on record. Even in his [[BroughtDownToBadass current state]] he can curbstomp Special Grades as powerful as Mahito and the Finger-Bearers, who are ''absolute nightmares'' for even well-trained sorcerers. WordOfGod confirms that at full strength he's tougher than even Rika Orimoto, and while how he measures up to Gojo is still unknown, [[spoiler: his defeat of the Ten Shadows's Mahoraga is something one of Gojo's ancestors supposedly couldn't pull off even with ''the Six Eyes'']].

* AlasPoorVillain: [[spoiler: They're are cruelly killed off by Sukuna, after their desperate plea of revenge against the person who hijacked Geto's body.]]

* AxCrazy: He loves death and bloodshed. His first thought when incarnated into Yuji is to go on a homicidal killing spree, laughing maniacally and making unhinged expressions.

** Unlike the typical dynamic where an inner demon can only emerge if the hero is enraged and can still be resealed with HeroicWillpower, Sukuna and Yuji's situation has set rules: Yuji has no means of controlling Sukuna's actions once he unleashes him, and if Sukuna doesn't consent to the initial switch, Yuji ''can't'' regain control of his body for at least a few minutes.

* UnskilledButStrong: They lack any sort of refined technique, but they're incredibly powerful that they can throw raw bolts of Cursed energy to demolish their surroundings and create an incomplete Domain on instinct. Gojo also notes that the one his students encounter warped the detention center it was in into an incomplete Domain, otherwise they wouldn't have come out of the situation alive.
* WakeupCallBoss: The very first Special-Grade that Yuji, Nobara and Megumi face. It's after [[CurbStompBattle an encounter with one of these things]] that they really start training.

* ItCanThink: They don't seem to be able to speak, but they notably have a sense of pride and sadism.

* UnskilledButStrong: They're incredibly powerful and are capable of creating a Domain. However, they lack any sort of refined technique and just throw powerful blasts of raw Curse energy at their opponents. Gojo also notes that the one his students encounter had an incomplete Domain, otherwise they wouldn't have come out of the situation alive.

** Mahito is also this to Sukuna. Both are bloodthirsty humanoid cursed spirits who eventually develop a special enmity with Yuji, but outside of that are as different as night and day. Sukuna [[DemonOfHumanOrigin is formerly human]], while Mahito is a natural born Curse. Mahito is [[FauxAffablyEvil deceitfully charming]] and [[WickedPretentious uses faux-philosophical nonsense to justify his cruelty]] while Sukuna [[CardCarryingVillain ''knows'' he's evil and revels in it]]. While both appear to [[BloodKnight enjoy a proper fight]], Sukuna [[NotAfraidToDie isn't afraid to die]] and [[VillainousValor welcomes being outmatched]], while Mahito [[DirtyCoward turns tail]] if pushed to his limits. [[spoiler:Mahito [[BigBadWannabe was set up as a major villain only for he and his group to amount to Geto's pawns]], while Sukuna at first seemed to be a garden variety SuperpoweredEvilSide before revealing himself to be [[TheChessmaster much more dangerous]] ]].

* StrongAndSkilled: Both TheArchmage and an incredibly gifted hand-to hand fighter. It's best displayed during the Cursed Womb arc, where he subjects Megumi to a CurbstompBattle with his bare hands while simultaneously using [[HealingMagicIsTheHardest Reversed Cursed Energy]] to keep Yuji's body alive ''with his heart ripped out''.

* SuperpoweredEvilSide: Mostly subverted. The one time it's played straight is the first time Yuji faces a curse he can't defeat. He lets out Sukuna, who [[SubvertedTrope immediately decides to team up with the curse and kill Yuji's friends]]. Once the curse insists on attacking Sukuna anyway, he makes short work of it.

* AffablyEvil: This Geto is rarely ever shown as angry, spiteful or cold, and keeps up a relaxed persona around allies and enemies alike. He expresses admiration for sorcerers regarding their strategies even as they fight him, and even rambles at Yuji about the specifics of his technique, giving the impression of a scientist of sorts. Despite having [[spoiler: manipulated the Disaster Curses for his goals and planning to dispose of them in the end,]] he's nothing but courteous, patient, and amicable around them, even relaxing and playing games with them from time to time.
* TheAssimilator: His brain transplant lets him take other's sorcerors' abilities, and in Geto's body, he can also do this with curses and then extract their techniques through the use of Maximum: Uzumaki.

* EvilutionaryBiologist: Appears to be his true nature. This sorcerer wants to optimize cursed energy and bring forth the peak of human potential. To do so, he's willing to commit immoral acts, and by the events of the series, he's not above plunging the world into chaos in the name of discovering the next stage of humanity.
* {{Familiar}}: Retains this technique thanks to using the original Suguru's body. He has a greater handicap with it than Suguru in his prime, however, thanks to the original Geto losing all his curses in his battle with Yuta. On the other hand, Kenjaku is considerably more wizened and willing to experiment with the technique, meaning he is just as effective as the original.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: He has weird markings on his forehead. These are stitches, indicating the brain transplant that was used to hijack Geto's body. A somewhat recursive example occurs after and before this is revealed, as his previous identity of Noritoshi Kamo was initially shown with his forehead heavily obscured by shadows, only for Choso is remember a clearer picture of him with the same tell-tale stitches across his forehead when he meets the current host of Geto, showing that they're the same person. Anybody else with [[MarkOfTheBeast such markings]] is likely a previous host of his, [[spoiler:including Yuji's mother]].
* GenderBender: Kenjaku's current body is male but one of the more recent ones was female. [[spoiler:Specifically, ''Yuji's mother''.]]

A group of powerful Special-Grade cursed spirits -- their power a result of being born from humanity's greatest and long-standing fears. Though they have their own agenda, as of the beginning of the series they are taking orders from Suguru Geto in order to achieve their ambition of removing humans from the world.

* DeathByIrony: All of them perish in ways that are ironic to themselves.
** Hanami [[spoiler:loathes humans for their cruelty towards the land. In his final confrontation, Gojo directs this same lack of respect towards Hanami, referring to him not as a curse but calling him a "weed" and a "useless tree" before executing him cruelly with minimal effort. Additionally, Hanami had the ability to phase through the earth, and was noted to be the toughest of the disaster curses. [[note]] WordOfGod stated that if Jogo, the strongest of the curses, had taken as much damage as Hanami did during Yuri and Todo's team-up fight with him, he would have perished, despite his strength being greater than Hanami's[[/note]] Hanami is killed via Gojo brute-force crushing him with his infinity technique, forcing the Curse against a wall underground and increasing the pressure until Hanami explodes, thus overpowering his toughness with greater strength than even he can endure. Because the wall was concrete, Hanami couldn't phase through it to escape.]]
** Jogo, [[spoiler:who loved killing humans with his [[PlayingWithFire Innate Technique]], is burned to death ForTheEvulz. Additionally, Jogo firmly believed curses were higher beings then humanity and regularly chided Mahito for only ever obeying [[AlwaysChaoticEvil his instincts as a Curse.]] He dies not to a human Sorcerer; but to Sukuna, a DemonOfHumanOrigin and stellar example of a [[AxeCrazy typical]] [[{{Sadist}} Curse]]]].

In the end he is killed not by the four people who faced him, but by the raging spirit of Toji Fushiguro, someone who isn't even alive. Additionally, Toji kills him with the broken remnants of Playful Cloud, effectively the 'corpse' of a Cursed Weapon.]]
** Mahito [[spoiler:has his nihilistic outlook thrown right back in his face when Yuji's embracing it completely leads to him having the resolve to defeat the curse before dying at the hands of someone he trusted and expected to help him at his lowest point, mirroring what he did to Junpei. Prior to his defeat, Mahito showed a noticeable fear towards his own incoming demise at Yuji's hands, [[FaceDeathWithDignity in contrast to how each of his fellow curses perished.]] Though he ends the fight being assimilated by Geto's Cursed technique, it's implied that Mahito is still somewhat 'alive' within 'Cursed Spirit manipulation', but he is now effectively a plaything in Geto's hands, with the latter being able to use his Idle Transfiguration technique at will and generally using him as a tool in his plans going forwards, mirroring what Mahito did to so many Humans to gain a combat advantage against Yuji and other sorcerers.]]
** Finally, [[spoiler: the three of them who definitely die during the Shibuya incident die to the 'strongest' of their respective categories, despite their plans only involving two of them -- The Strongest Sorcerer, The Strongest Curse, and the Strongest Human.]]
* DeathIsCheap: They're embodiments of the immense negativity humanity has for certain concepts. Exorcising them only removes them from the fray temporarily, but [[AsLongAsThereIsEvil as long as negativity towards these concepts exist]], they'll simply return albeit with completely different egos and no memories of their previous incarnations. [[spoiler:Jogo]] is accepting of this though, believing that even if the new Disaster Curses will be nothing like them at all, and will have no memory of or even fondness for their former allies, a meeting of such successors will still have meaning. [[spoiler:Mahito]], who is on his first life, isn't so receptive to this notion.
* DwindlingParty: Throughout the Shibuya Incident Arc, their numbers decrease as they fight the jujutsu sorcerers. [[spoiler:Hanami is effortlessly killed by Gojo, Dagon is easily killed by a revived Toji Fushiguro, and Jogo is killed by Sukuna.]]
* ItCanThink: Humanoid as they are, they're still uplifted Cursed spirits.
* HumanoidAbomination: While still obviously inhuman (except for Mahito), they possess humanoid bodies and are far less eldritch looking than other curses.
* MoralMyopia: Despite having killed dozens of humans without batting an eye, they're still genuinely angered whenever their own is killed off.
* KillAllHumans: Their ultimate goal. The reason why they each want this seems to vary: Jogo believes the humans on the planet are "fakes", Hanami wants to allow the planet to shine again without humanity's cruelty, and Mahito simply disregards life and enjoys experimenting on and killing people.
* PrimalFear: They are cursed spirits born of the negative emotions that humans have for the earth, forests, seas and each other.
* {{Reincarnation}}: As embodiments of collective human fear, they will eventually reincarnate as new but similar beings even if they are killed. They will keep drawing power from the negative emotions associated with fear for as long as humanity exists, with Jogo speculating that it would take them about 100 years to return to the strength they are at in the present story.
* UnwittingPawn: They probably wouldn't have been willing to work with Geto if they had known he was planning to [[spoiler:eat them]] once they stopped being useful. [[spoiler:Mahito, however, claims he was aware of the truth the whole time.]]
* VillainousFriendship: The Disaster Curses have this towards each other, being very close. They work together, save each other when one is at risk of dying and will attempt to avenge their fallen comrades if one is killed. Brief scenes even show Mahito, Hanami and Dagon cheerfully playing together like children, showing their close bond in heavy contrast to their horrific deeds.

* EvilCounterpart: Interestingly, Nanami notes that he may be this to Gojo -- both have jovial personalities that hide a terrifying strength.

While Mahito can use cursed energy to change his body, Yuji uses it as an extension of his body to strike opponents. Due to this, in addition to Yuji being able to damage his soul thanks to Sukuna, Mahito refers to Yuji as his "natural enemy".
** Mahito is also this to Sukuna. Both are bloodthirsty humanoid cursed spirits who eventually develop a special enmity with Yuji, but outside of that are as different as night and day. Sukuna [[DemonOfHumanOrigin is formerly human]], while Mahito is a natural born Curse. Mahito is [[FauxAffablyEvil deceitfully charming]] and [[WickedPretentious uses faux-philosophical nonsense to justify his cruelty]] while Sukuna [[CardCarryingVillain ''knows'' he's evil and revels in it]]. While both appear to [[BloodKnight enjoy a proper fight]], Sukuna [[NotAfraidToDie isn't afraid to die]] and [[VillainousValor welcomes being outmatched]], while Mahito [[DirtyCoward turns tail]] if pushed to his limits. The one bond he forms with a human is entirely false, and he betrays them soon afterwards. And when Geto appears, Mahito believes he's there to save him, only to be absorbed into Geto's Cursed technique. * ManipulativeBastard: He manipulates Junpei into being his pawn by feeding him information about the Jujutsu world while giving the boy further encouragement into the nihilism that the boy was already experiencing. [[spoiler: He later gives Junpei one of Sukuna's fingers withholding the fact that it would attract Curses and kill his mother. Knowing that Yuji would come to stop Junpei from killing a boy that bullied the latter and had convinced that he was responsible, leading to the two fighting to death, killing two birds with one stone . When this doesn't work, he does his usual BodyHorror transformation schtick to turn the boy into an unrecognizable abomination that slowly dies.]]
** He also manipulates Kokichi Muta with the possibility of being cured of his ailment [[spoiler: by having him being the Curses' informant during the Goodwill Event. And while he does do that eventually, Mahito still kills him anyway.]]

* MegatonPunch: During the opening rounds of their rematch in Shibuya, Mahito uses his Soul Multiplicity technique to attack Yuji with a massive twisted amalgamation of humans, only to use it as cover to travel through the abomination to surprise attack Yuji square in the face whilst his guard's down. Having morphed his hand into a pile-bunker like form, Mahito notes that if he'd put more forced behind the hit, he could have split Yuji's skull in two. [[spoiler:The attack would leave a [[ScarsAreForever permanent reminder]] on Yuji's face after the fight]].

The ''real'' Suguru Geto, former student of Jujutsu High and former best friend of Satoru Gojo. In order to rid the world of Cursed Spirits, he planned to completely exterminate non-sorcerers. \\\

During the events of Volume 0, he released multiple powerful spirits at Shinjuku and Kyoto. He then invaded Jujutsu High in order to take control of Yuta Okkotsu's GuardianEntity Rika, but was defeated by Yuta and later killed by Gojo. His body was stolen some time later. \\\

His Cursed Technique was "Cursed Spirit Manipulation", which allowed him to absorb and control curses.

* AffablyEvil: To those he respects, even after his StartOfDarkness, Geto is laid back, well-spoken, and often smiling. He doesn't take his frustration out on anyone, and is even not above casual conversation. When he's around people he wants to manipulate or harm, however, he slips into FauxAffablyEvil.
* ArcVillain: Serves this role as the main villain of the prequel arc, with all of Jujutsu High working to stop him. While he is defeated, his ultimate fate is ambiguous. The main series confirms Gojo killed him then.
* TheBeastmaster: His Cursed Technique makes him this with Curses.
* BloodbathVillainOrigin: Geto began to believe that the solution to stopping the creation of cursed spirits was to kill all non-sorcerers after he began to look down on non-sorcerers and witnessed the deaths of sorcerers who tried to exorcise cursed spirits such as Yu. He started to act on it when on a mission the villagers wanted him to kill two young sorcerers, causing him to massacre all 112 of the village's inhabitants. In strict adherence to his belief, Geto even killed his own non-sorcerer parents.
* CannibalismSuperpower: Curses he defeats turn into small black orbs which he then has to eat in order to take control of them. The caveat being that curses taste like rags covered in vomit. Which he doesn't enjoy. He's eaten them over ''four-thousand'' times.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: In Volume 0, he was more openly emotional than he was in his main-series flashbacks with Gojo, prone to freely scowling and grinning at people, and even crying hysterical tears when he sees the other sorcerers risk themselves for Yuta.
* CynicismCatalyst: Riko's tragic death and the cruel circumstances surrounding it are what make Geto lose his faith in humanity, starting him on the path to becoming a MisanthropeSupreme.
* DeadAllAlong: Though Gojo appears to confront him at the end of Volume 0 and asks for his final words, his fate is ultimately left open, and he returns at the beginning of the main series with stitches across his head, leading one to believe he simply recovered offscreen. Upon meeting Gojo in Shibuya, the present-day Suguru reveals he is in fact a different being using a technique to control Geto's body, confirming Gojo had killed him then.
* DeclarationOfProtection: When he gives Riko Amanai the choice to either go through with her MergerOfSouls with Tengen or escape to live her own life, Geto declares that he and Gojo will protect her no matter what choice she makes, even if it means going against all the higher-ups of the Jujutsu world. This really emphasizes what a good guy he used to be and just how much Riko's SurprisinglySuddenDeath immediately afterwards affected him.
* FaceHeelTurn: The Hidden Inventory arc shows that Geto used to be a hero and all-around NiceGuy. He may have had some GoodIsNotNice qualities that he shared with Gojo, but he always wanted to do the right thing, even if it meant defying his superiors. A series of cruel and unnecessary deaths, along with his own growing feelings of hopelessness and doubt drive him towards his heel turn.
* {{Familiar}}: Control over these is Geto's signature brand of cursed technique. He can tame lower-level spirits by compacting them into a ball and ingesting them, gaining the ability to call upon them in battle.
* FantasticRacism: Despite starting out as more idealistic and principled than Gojo, years of sacrifice and loss in the name of protecting humanity embittered Geto towards what he perceived to be an ungrateful mass of idiots. Losing friends and colleagues to Curses while regular humans remained ignorant at best and dismissive at worst of their sacrifice eventually led Geto to begin despising non-sorcerers as a whole, derogatively referring to them as "monkeys". Struggling with these feelings at first, he eventually embraces them and removes the last obstacle he might have had in commiting to his genocidal plans.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Though he remains laid-back and neutral at the absolute worst to his old friends and those he works with, Getou appears to mask a tranquil fury and spite when faced with people he wishes to manipulate or harm, sometimes brutally ending their lives.
* FightingFromTheInside: Despite having been killed, he is revealed to still be alive deep down due to the nature of the second Geto using his body for possession. His body twitches and briefly reacts to Gojo speaking to him, and the second Geto mentions that this is a first.

* PetTheDog: Despite how ruthless he is, he actually took in and helped raise Nanako and Mimiko [[spoiler: after utterly slaughtering the village that was persecuting them]]. Years later, the two are still deeply loyal to him because of it.
* SelfMadeOrphan: When confronted about his killing shortly after his betrayal, it's revealed that one of Geto's first victims were his parents. As he admits, if he's going to slaughter the majority of humanity, he can't make compromises on emotional attachments.
* SonOfAnApe: Geto is fond of calling non-Jujutsu sorcerers "monkeys", indicative of how strongly he looks down on them.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: His goal is to kill all regular humans due to them not being able to control their Cursed Energy, which would prevent Cursed Spirits from being created and consequently end the cycle all jujutsu sorcerers are trapped in. * ItsPersonal: Choso adopts this perspective once he learns his brothers [[spoiler: were killed by Nobara and Yuji]]. Upon concluding that [[spoiler:he is in fact related to Yuji,]] he drops his grudge, deeming it a "misunderstanding".
* LogicalWeakness: As [[spoiler:Mechamaru]] correctly deduces, Choso's Blood Manipulation technique stops the process of clotting so blood can be controlled more effectively. This means Choso's blood dissolves more easily in water -- pouring water on the blood outside his body in any form will force his technique to dispel as a result, since he can no longer control it. Averted later during his fight with Naoya, the latter ''thinks'' Choso will start to have logical issues due to a bleeding wound, which as a Blood Manipulation user will constantly distract him with keeping it closed, but Naoya ended up being WrongGenreSavvy because Choso isn't human and can create blood from cursed energy
* LongLostRelative: [[spoiler:It's eventually revealed Choso and the other death paintings are in fact this to Yuji, all considered children of the entity currently inhabiting Geto's body. Choso's ability to sense his brethren is extended to Yuji as well, causing him to eventually join Yuji's side.]]
* NotSoStoic: Upon learning from Yuji his brothers [[spoiler: cried as they died together,]] Choso becomes furious.
* OverdrawnAtTheBloodBank: Choso summons a ''The Shining''-esque deluge of blood when fighting Naoya Zen'in. The narration reveals that because Choso is a half-curse, he can convert cursed energy to blood, giving him a much larger amount to work with than a human sorcerer. As long as he has cursed energy remaining, he won't die of blood loss.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: He is softer and more emotive with his siblings, even asking [[spoiler:Yuji]] to call him "Onii-Chan", which is incredibly cutesy and childish. Additionally, despite his regular stoic demeanor he completely looses it and goes into a rage when his family or siblings are in game. [[spoiler: Learning that "Geto" is actually Noritoshi Kamo makes him fly into an UnstoppableRage, and Naoya having disparaging words about siblinghood prompts Choso to give a deeper speech about his thoughts on the matter as he nearly murders Naoya. Later on, Yuji calling him "Aniki" also makes him gasp in glee as it means Yuji is recognizing him as his older brother, at least on some level.]]
* PoisonousPerson: Like his brothers, he can make his blood poisonous. [[spoiler:After making his HeelFaceTurn, he does this when attacking Uraume and is able to take them out of the fight, allowing the heroes to break free of the ice. He also makes use of it against Naoya, almost killing him.]]

* SuperpowerLottery: Flowing Red Scale is a technique from Blood Manipulation that can be used to modify many bodily parameters to achieve drastic physical improvements, however, this runs the risk of causing blood clots, thrombosis and other systemic issues. As a half-curse, Choso has less of a risk (albeit its not null either), and can even refocus blood flow to certain organs and muscles (like his extra-ocular muscles, allowing him to follow and zero on things moving at extreme speeds)
* WorfHadTheFlu: He's a special grade hybrid curse who [[spoiler:handily bested Yuji, who even had assistance, and later took on and defeated Naoya]] -- however, he gets oneshot and instantly knocked out by [[spoiler: Yuta Okkotsu]]. At that point he was extremely worn down from the fight with Naoya and was taken by surprise. [[spoiler: Not that he could have fared particularly better than Yuji or at full strength, as Yuta is one of the strongest characters in the entire series.]]

They share the "Supreme Rot Technique", which allows them some degree of control over their blood, as well as making it extremely poisonous.

* AdaptationalModesty: In the anime, Eso wears full tights on his lower body as opposed to the thong, garters and leggings worn in the manga.
* AffablyEvil: Eso is surprisingly polite and friendly, and was fine with giving Nobara the chance to flee before their fight.
* AlasPoorVillain: [[spoiler:Eso's death is noticeably tragic, with him desperately trying to run away after Kugisaki kills Kechizu, whose death he is clearly heartbroken by. Itadori is left quite crushed, and only recovers after a heart-to-heart with Kugisaki in the aftermath.]]
* ArcVillain: Of the "Origin of Obedience" arc.
* BerserkButton: Eso mentions that he'll kill anyone who looks at the face on his back. This is immediately followed by Yuji and Kechizu popping up right behind him. A type of Special-Grade spirit created by Cursed Wombs that have consumed one of Sukuna's fingers and taken it's power for themselves.

* ItCanThink: They don't seem to be able to speak, but they notably have a sense of pride and sadism.
* ShoddyKnockoffProduct: They pale in comparison to the actual Sukuna.
* UnskilledButStrong: They're incredibly powerful and are capable of creating a Domain. However, they lack any sort of refined technique and just throw powerful blasts of raw Curse energy at their opponents. Gojo also notes that the one his students encounter had an incomplete Domain, otherwise they wouldn't have come out of the situation alive.
* WakeupCallBoss: The very first Special-Grade that Yuji, Nobara and Megumi face. It's after [[CurbStompBattle an encounter with one of these things]] that they really start training.
* TheWorfEffect: Yuji and Megumi stood no chance against the first one they face, and Yuji resorted to [[GodzillaThreshold unleashing Sukuna]] to get rid of it. Sukuna promptly dominates it with no effort, while only making up two fingers of his power.

* BewareTheSillyOnes: Despite it's idiocy, it's still introduced eating a civilian. Mei Mei also suggests that its strength is Grade 1. Yuji doesn't let its silly nature stop him from mercilessly killing it.
* DumbMuscle: Not particularly smart, despite its belief otherwise.
* ItCanThink: It possesses a sense of self and personality that other cursed spirits of its level haven't shown, not that it helps with its intelligence.

A powerful Special-Grade Disease Cursed Spirit that is part of Geto's collection of cursed spirits. It is deployed to combat Mei Mei and Ui Ui in Shibuya.

* CreepyCemetery: Its Domain Expansion takes on the appearance of a dark and ominous cemetery, representing all the lives lost by its disease.
* DeathFromAbove: The ''Grave'' technique captures enemies within a coffin before dropping a massive gravestone on top of it. If the enemy survives, it will begin a three-second countdown that will [[OneHitKill instantly kill its target]] with disease if they are unable to escape.
* FogFeet: It has no legs and floats above the ground in a manner reminiscent of a djinn.
* {{Plaguemaster}}: As a manifestation of the sorrow created by its namesake disease, the AlwaysAccurateAttack within its Domain inflicts a sickness that will instantly kill its target if the proper conditions are met.
