* FiveManBand: Throughout the series, they effectively become this, working together to make sure Cognito Inc stays as stable as it can be. It also helps that the group becomes closer to each other over time. Though the way each of them fulfil their role is PlayedWith
** Reagan is TheLeader, often taking the initiative for changes and developments to be made and leading the different missions the group is sent to do. She's also the most logical and levelheaded member, which naturally makes her the OnlySaneMan. That being said, she's (initially) the NoRespectGuy of the group, since her abysmal people skills made her a challenge to work with and at the start of the season, her co-workers are shown to only tolerate her. Of course, it changes throughout her CharacterDevelopment and by the latter half of the series, she has a much easier time getting the group together and they've grown to genuinely like and respect her.
** Brett's an interesting case in that at the start of Part 1, he's a FishOutOfWater due to being a newly added employee at Cognito Inc and has [[AudienceSurrogate as much knowledge on how the Shadow organisations run as the average person]], making him the SixthRanger of the group. But after he and Reagan decide to co-lead the Department Heads, he's become TheLancer to Reagan, with their [[{{Foil}} contrasting personalities]] balancing each other out. Additionally, since he's more emotionally in-tune than Reagan (and admittedly, most of the other Department Heads), he also becomes TheHeart of the group.
** Gigi, like Brett, also serves as TheLancer to Reagan as she's able to give her the advice and assistance she needs in helping run by the departments. It's also been shown that while she seems [[BrilliantButLazy incredibly laidback and carefree where her job's concerned, she's just as competent and capable as Reagan, albeit in her own expertise.]] Additionally, her more charismatic and people-oriented skills makes her a good {{Foil}} to Reagan, which also serves as a good balance to Reagan's common methods of approaching different problems that have popped up.

** Of the UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist. Rand is the archetypical Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist; he's a drunken deadbeat constantly coming up with ZanyScheme{{s}} and an emotionally abusive and neglectful father. The show makes it clear that this is because Rand is a narcissistic sociopath who constantly manipulates the people around him for his own ends, and that he's a toxic influence on everyone around him. By the end of the first season, Rand's behavior has stopped being PlayedForLaughs in the slightest and become truly despicable.

* WeHaveReserves: {{Implied}} since they easily replaced Oprah (a ''high profile celebrity'' who's also one of their department heads) with a clone of hers after she died in Part 1. It shows that in the event that one of their famous members dies in circumstances that aren't so easily explainable to the public, they can just readily put a clone in their place.

* LoveRedeems: Both ROBOTUS and Keanu Reeves fell for her so hard that the former saw worth in human life while the latter was fine with giving up his eternal life and youth if it meant growing old with her. His rant to Reagan in the finale of Part 1 reveals he sees himself as above anyone without his and Reagan's level of intellect and therefore the "normies"'s moral standards don't apply to them.

* TheCorrupter: He tries to be this to Reagan, always encouraging her worst traits and attempting to get her to follow in his image.
