Clearing up a bit of a misunderstanding: "Nathan Merwin" is the character's name, as seen briefly in-game on a list held by the Curator and agreed upon on the Dark Pictures wiki. "Lazarus" is a nickname briefly used by Nick when he observes that Merwin has miraculously survived an apparently fatal situation. Furthermore, Eric's use of "Corporal Merwin" in in-game dialogue confirms "Merwin" to be the character's surname rather than his first name.
