* KeepingTheHandicap: She goes blind as part of a long-winded revenge plot, but finds herself preferring being blind over when she could see. When Aranea gives her the option to heal her eyes, she declines due to what being blind has done for her. [[spoiler: In the original timeline, she does end up taking the offer out of a sense of low self-esteem and regrets being manipulated into it, making sure it never happens when she sends John out to fix the timeline with his retcon-powers.]]

* ForWantOfANail:
** Her blackrom with Gamzee, and not realizing or preventing some of the sinister things he was up to until it was too late, completely destroyed her life, as it severely lowered her confidence and self-esteem, drove her to get her eyes healed (which only further wrecked her confidence), ruined her redrom relationship with Dave when he broke up with her because of her blackrom with Gamzee, and the fallout of Gamzee's and her breakup led directly to Karkat's death and indirectly to Kanaya's. In the new retconned timeline, where she never gets with him (partially because she does learn about his actions much earlier), all of this pain is avoided.
** An even bigger example is Terezi killing Vriska, which also contributed to her self-loathing. When she is prevented from killing her in the retconned timeline, Vriska becomes moirails with Terezi and further helps prevent the issues that happened in the bad timeline, including Terezi not dating Gamzee, not developing an inferiority complex from meeting her dancestor, and not getting her eyes fixed.

* NumerologicalMotif: 33, the atomic number of arsenic as well as being a double cat smile. Her dreamself also dies of three stabs to the midsection, while one of the last things she does before dying is scratching Gamzee three times on the face. The Leonids (the meteors that appear in her constellation, Leo, note that meteors play a large part in Homestuck) appear every 33 years. And to truly impressive levels on the author's part, the predicted lifespan of her blood caste according to a fan-discovered equation is thirty-three sweeps.

* KickTheSonOfABitch: While Gamzee and Eridan weren't introduced as bad people (with her even being one of Eridan's only friends), by the time she cut them in half, they had more than deserved it.

* CatGirl: Roleplays as one. Nepeta herself is a borderline case, since her horns are shaped like cat ears and her default expression is a CatSmile complete with CuteLittleFangs.
* CatSmile: The {{Emoticon}} she begins sentences with is a two-mouthed variation. It's her default expression, as well, and her cat hood and bangs create a second one. It's also the face of her lusus, Pounce De Leon.

* GrotesqueCute: True to her fursona, who kills wild animal with her bare hands, she lives in a cave littered with animal skins and bloody marks on the walls. But she's still adorable with her kitty cap, her fake tail, and her big goofy CatSmile.
